Unfortunately, the experience went downhill quickly. The service was flashy but slow, and we followed the waiter's recommendations for both an appetizer and our entrees. He told my girlfriend her entrée didn't come with a side, so we ordered one. After several cocktails, her entrée arrived--but mine never did. I sat there watching her eat while I waited. When I asked the waiter where my meal was, he simply said, "it is not working." I then asked a manager for help, but he disappeared and never returned. The bill came with no apology, no explanation, no discount, and nothing complimentary. It was an awkward and uncomfortable way to end what was supposed to be a special evening. Mistakes happen, but what really bothered me was that there was no effort to acknowledge the problem or make it right. I do not recommend. Me quedé sentado viéndola comer mientras yo esperaba.

Make sure to make a reservation in advance, especially for Thursday through the weekend. We visited at 8:30 and we felt like it was the perfect time because a lot of the performances began around nine. The service is top-notch. From putting the napkin in your lap to arranging a miniature coat rack to hang your jacket, they pay attention to detail. Not to mention, though the atmosphere takes priority here, the food was also very good. We ordered a steak and the shrimp risotto. The shrimp were colossal. I have never seen shrimp so big. Most of their specialty cocktails are quite acidic and that night I was craving whiskey so I ordered an old-fashioned and it was also very good. I would say this spot in particular is well known for big groups and bachelorette dinners. It is quite loud, so keep that in mind. It's also in line with other nice restaurants in Tulum regarding price, but we felt it was worth it. Lastly, make a note that they charge for water so you're not surprised when you get the bill.

It never felt stiff or overly formal, just lively and fun the entire evening. The food was excellent across the board, but the standout was the tomahawk steak presentation. When it arrived, sparklers, drums, and all eyes on the table, it honestly felt like some kind of ceremonial animal sacrifice in the most entertaining way possible. Over the top? Absolutely. Memorable? Even more so. Great atmosphere, great service, and legitimately great food to back it up. We laughed, ate way too much, and left buzzing from the whole experience. A true 5-star night in Tulum.

Carboncitos was a really enjoyable experience overall. The food was genuinely delicious. I started…read morewith the chicken soup, which had great flavor, but the portion was pretty small. For my entrée, I had the skirt steak, and it was tender, flavorful, and cooked perfectly. The sweet potato with honey and cinnamon was absolutely delicious. My only real complaint is the portion sizes on a couple of items. The salad was very small, and I would have loved a more generous serving. I also ordered an amaretto sour. It was a little weak at first, so I asked for more amaretto, which made it better, but it still wasn't quite as strong as I prefer. The service was phenomenal. The staff was attentive, kind, and genuinely friendly throughout the entire experience. I felt well taken care of and truly enjoyed myself. I would definitely return.

My girlfriend takes food very seriously so it's hard to find good spots and this place really impressed her. We came back two days in a row to try different plates and they all slapped. (Chile Rellenos, quesadillas, salsa wheel, tacos, ceviche). The drinks were amazing as well. (Pina Colada, margarita - they have happy hour 4pm- 6pm) All of the above would be enough in itself but the staff was really friendly and accommodating without doing too much. I.e They don't come across as fake. Anyways, if you are looking for a spot to try in Playa Del Carmen, eat here at least once and see what's up.

And let me tell you, it was absolutely worth it! After enjoying resort food and drinks for 5 days, our palettes were graced with an absolutely delicious take on Latin fine dining. From the food to the service, we thoroughly enjoyed each carefully prepared dish that was bursting with flavor and complexity. We indulged in the wine-pairing along with our 7 course meal, and left completely satisfied. Our server was very kind and provided excellent service throughout the night (please forgive my memory -- I forgot his name.) But overall, we are so glad that we tried Tempo and it was worth the extra charge, despite being surrounding by several other all-inclusive restaurants! If you have the means to try Tempo during your stay at Paradisus Cancun, I highly recommend coming here. You won't regret it!

We opted for the tasting menu experience, I had the vegetarian and my partner had the regular both with a total of 7 courses and about 4-5 complementary courses. The presentation was wonderful as were the flavor combinations for each dish. The portions are perfect and if you don't fill up on bread (like we did but it's so good!) you should leave more than satisfied. The standout to me was the truffled honey ice component of a savory dish, I was also a HUGE fan of the cheese platter which was perfectly paired with sweet accents to offset the sharpness of the cheeses. After the dessert course they also gave me to very nicely decorated pistachio macarons for my birthday! If you find yourself in Cancun definitely check out Tempo. A Michelin Star Tasting Menu for approximately $100, what is there to think about? Hope you get Daniel as your waiter he is the best!

Located in the marina with both indoor and patio seating, you'll have a nice view of the water and a breeze in the evenings. My party spent 4 hours dining here for dinner; splitting a few dishes and mostly just talking with each other, the staff, and vibing to the DJ's tunes. At times the music was a little loud and I could see this deterring families with young children from sitting outside. They also push the alcohol sale here hard. As with most restaurants, I'm sure this is a big money maker for them (nothing is cheap here) but we had a person in our party who does not drink alcohol and the push was a little too pushy, even after we asked that they stop asking. We were celebrating a friend's birthday and they brought a cupcake at the end of our meal. Unfortunately, it was frozen solid in the center. Every entree and appetizer selection was excellent. I highly recommend the quesabirria and garlic shrimp! We're from the California Bay Area and the pricing here was like going out at home. It's expensive and caters to the tourist, so beware. You can also hookah here!

We were celebrating our 9th wedding anniversary and wanted a place that was fancy, non touristy and not bank breaking and zeroed down on this place. ++ The complimentary chips and salsa was delicious. The server cut the steak and seared it in front of us and applied all the sauces (more like vinegars), onions and guacamole ++ Try the rib eye gaoneras and the Cao Tacos. You definitely won't be disappointed We were so full, that we didn't have any space for dessert. I may have exaggerated on the 5+, but I think that's subjective and relative to competition. Among the multiple places in Cancun, this one definitely stands out.
