First, these are current fire fighters inspecting homes. Honestly, just that alone should put your mind at ease a little right? Fire hazards are their life!! Helloooooo?!? Secondly, their website was easy! You go on pick a day and can even pay all in less than ten minutes. Thirdly, they are actually priced very competitively and fairly. My friend who just bought a house got her house inspected and paid more with someone else. Finally service, Doug was extremely kind and incredibly nice to work with while still being efficient and thorough. Hubby and I couldn't meet him on the day due to a work emergency and so he called me the next day to break it all down. My realtor even texted him during my inspection to be sure there weren't any red flags right now that we should be worried about (because we couldn't be there) and he kindly responded and replied. I found out my offer was accepted for my first house 2 days ago and that I should schedule my inspection yesterday. A friend from work recommended 343 Home Inspections and that they were off duty firefighters. I called Greg Bontrager's cell phone and he was very friendly and informative on the phone. I scheduled the appointment for today at 8 AM and Greg Bontrager (TREC license # 20582) was there before 8 AM when I got there (and it was cold like 30 degrees). I offered him the weather report and said we could do it when it warmed up but he wasn't phased by it. I returned for the last hour of the inspection and he walked me through the house to show me his findings. He had a laptop and walked me and my agent through all the photos he took and answered any questions we had. He was very knowledgeable and walked us through the report process. The home had a pool and he is certified to inspect pools as well. He got me the report super quick maybe 3 hours later max. I am an enforcement officer for a government agency and review inspection reports for a living among many other things. The quality of photos and the report were top notch. The pricing was comparable to what my friends and agent told me and I got a $50 discount for being a first time home buyer. I would definitely recommend these guys (You know you can trust firemen). read more

Greg came out and performed an inspection on my newly built home. He did a great job and was incredibly thorough. I met with Greg after he completed the inspection and he took the time to walk me through everything he found. I was supplied a digital report after the inspection so that I could easily share the findings with my builder for quick resolution. Stay away from this company. Inspection is deficient and includes so many disclaimers that makes the inspection useless. Most disclaimers are provided AFTER YOU PAY when the report is produced, so you have no way to disagree and go with another company. Missed major issues with the house we purchased from out of state: 1) Reported AC as working normally when half the house did not even have return vents installed, therefore was very hot due to a major component being missing. 2) Dishwasher did not work and was reported as working 3) Fence rotted on all 3 sides and only reported that a few posts needed replacing 4) Sprinkler heads missing 5) Rain gutters detached and negative pitch 6) Water damage and mold in master bedroom due to shower leak When I complained about the missing issues the company initially agreed to refund my payment. I signed a liability release, notarized and mailed it to their address. After several weeks I inquired about the refund and they claim never received the paperwork from me. Then they sent another, this time, with an additional "confidentiality agreement" so that i cannot complain in places like Yelp. I decided I had enough and did not proceed with the refund. Tried to resolve complaint via the BBB but the company keeps saying they are not responsible for anything as per the disclaimers. In the end I got stuck with the repairs, inconvenience and uncertainty of any other missed issues after paying $500+ for an inspection that did not serve its purpose. read more

343... My daughter found these guys and right away felt a connection because of the name 343... being from NYC she knew right away this is the number of fallen fire fighters from 9.11. Clay inspected her new home and was very thorough. He went over everything on the spot and then sent a very detailed report same day I might add! Because he was so professional, friendly and kind, when my husband and I were looking to purchase we called 343! Clay was not available and we were sent Greg. Like Clay, Greg was just as pleasant and professional and just seemed to really care! Greg inspected our new home and explained everything pointing out key issues as he was inspecting!
