I'm going through the process of my first home purchase in Texas so I found several inspectors with great reviews on Yelp. I wound up going with Anchor, which was a great decision. Heath was very thorough in his inspection, and even more thorough when he met with me to go over his findings. He took the time to explain everything to me clearly. Our experience with Green Scene Home Inspections was extremely concerning. The company's owner came…read moreto our home after a major appliance listed in their report was called into question. During that visit, he made unprompted remarks about my personal life that had nothing to do with the inspection. When I told him that his behavior felt intimidating, he responded that he had researched me on the "deep dark web." We then asked that our interactions remain strictly professional and limited to inspection-related matters, but he declined to agree to that boundary. The encounter left us feeling unsafe and deeply uncomfortable. We have since filed a formal complaint with the Texas Real Estate Commission (TREC) regarding this incident. It is our personal recommendation to stay very far from this company. Homeowners deserve respect, professionalism, and basic privacy when inviting someone into their home.

We had our inspection done with Mike Tower from GreenWork, and we were very satisfied with the…read moreservice Mike provided. From start to finish, Mike went above and beyond for our family. Mike began by carefully listening to all our concerns -- from systemic roof leaks and water intrusion to workmanship issues -- and made sure he understood the full picture before starting. During the inspection, he was incredibly meticulous, documenting every defect both big and small with detailed photos and clear notes. He even helped us find out the potential root cause for some of the more difficult issues we had been having with the house i.e. the sporadic roof leaks. What stood out most was his deep expertise. With over 20 years in the trade, Mike knows construction process inside and out, and what builders should or shouldn't do as best practices. He also has specialized experience in mold remediation and plumbing issues, which gave us confidence given our past water problems. Mike is an excellent communicator and very patient. He explained how things are supposed to work, advised us on how repairs should be handled, and even warned us of pitfalls to avoid when dealing with builders or contractors. He also shared best practices we never would have thought about, helping us prevent long-term issues. On top of that, Mike was extremely respectful and friendly with the entire family -- even our pets took to him right away. After spending the better part of the day thoroughly inspecting our home, he delivered a comprehensive, well-organized report the very same evening. Thanks to his documentation, we now have a strong record of our concerns to present to the builder. Simply put, Mike sets the standard for what a home inspector should be: professional, knowledgeable, thorough, and personable. We would hand-pick him again without hesitation for any future inspections. Highly recommended.

The home builder, a reputable one at that, told me it wasn't necessary to hire my own inspector, as the city would would be doing its own inspections. As Bryan told me, "of course they don't want you hiring a home inspector." Sure enough, Bryan found lots of deficiencies-- none significant, fortunately-- in the builder's work. Bryan also educated me on new home builds, "A house is only as good as the actual guys building it." I learned a lot after he was done, as he walked through the entire house with me, showing all of his discoveries. He photographs with his digital camera every single discrepancy, and those pics end up in his final report (which he emailed me that same evening). You won't be disappointed hiring Bryan. Google his business; all of the 5-star reviews on Google are spot on. Hiring him was the best thing I did in the building of my new home.
