So needless to say, Shane is more friend than contractor to our family. It was truly the best decision we could've made in having Dream Builders & Renovations increase the potential of our home but keep the essence of what made us love it in the first place. We will use Dream Builders & Renovations again in the future, of that I have no doubt.

I had Jojo work on my living room, my bedroom, my office and create a theater room for me. I ended…read morespending close to 82-90k. Overall I am happy with the remodel but there were bumps in the road. There were some issues that I will try to denote. We started with jojo in late summer of 2020 and she just finished our remodel 2 months ago. Partially because it was a big, project and partly because we went on vacation and partly because she had a lot of efficiencies. Jojo offers turn key service but many times its not turn key at the end. She depends a lot on you for things because she is very busy. She has many projects going on and I feel she takes on too much to be effective with communication. I can tell though she does very good work. Jojo initially gave us a 3D rendition that was a little pricy. It ended being around 5K. That being said I paid for the ENTIRE project 82K+ up front before she even started. She in my opinion had a great eye for design and did a good job at giving us what we wanted. Issues She gave us a procurement list after the 3D rendition and asks us to get everything before we started. For the most part it was ok , but we got a theater room and she asks us to get a fan and a screen that was about 1000 dollars. The theater room on the 3rd floor where we had a spare bed room and lived as they remodeled the first and second floors of our house. I don't know if she thought it through as the fan got in the way of the projector and the screen. I had to get Best Buy , Magnolia's to set up my theater as they got be better quality speakers and asked me to return the screen since it was " too heavy and would collapse my ceiling ". Because the theater room was the last room they did and was a year after we bought the screen we couldn't return it. I remember several conversations and ultimately she got angry when I asked for a refund. " She told me she "wasn't an engineer but a designer". I responded with you didn't have to be an engineer to realize that the fan would get in the way of the projector and the screen. She really didnt take responsibility and account for her mistakes at that moment. After much back and forth she gave me a refund for the projector screen and fan. Jojo did my living room which came out great. She gave me an accent wall and added a marble accent so I could have a fireplace with my living room. I had no issues with the living room but the guys she contracted to put up the marble accent unscrewed my electronic gate. They didnt properly screw it back together and my gate didnt close. I initially approached Jojo but she didnt take much responsibility in the beginning. We needed up calling the management of the workers and they apologized for their workers and sent gate specialists to properly screw the lock into my gate. One of the biggest issues was my personal office. I spent 23K on that office. Jojo has a carpenter named Louis who I don't think his strong suit was accuracy and precision. The office was going to have a slab of wood that was going to be stained and cut to the rooms specifications. He didnt quite do a good job as there were gaps in the desk were dust and debris was accumilating. The job took over 3 months to complete because they kept retrying to get it right. Ultimately she had to bring another carpenter to redo the entire desk. I will give her credit this guy did it right and my office cam out great. When they remodeled the main bedroom closet they chipped a tile and tried to cover it up initially. Louis, the carpenter, said oh it was already there. I had to show pictures my house prior to the remodel to show that it wasn't there. Jojo took responsibility and asked for it to be replaced. The main bedroom closet had a his and her mirrors that she had ordered. The measurements were wrong . Jojo suggested we change the rendition she has originally provided. I remember being in Las Vegas when I was hearing this. I said why are we changing the rendition when you got the measurements wrong. I told her it was her responsibility and this was "turn key" service and ultimately she agreed to order custom mirrors that properly fit. Overall All in all, I would cautiously recommend Jojo. I think she is an absolutely great designer. She has good taste and a good eye for what the customer wants. That being said her people skills are lacking. She doesn't in my experience make precise measurements and often has to redo things because she just doesn't measure correctly. I wouldn't get all the procurement list right away as some items were difficult to return. My biggest criticism is she initially will not take responsibility for her mistakes. I will give her credit she refunded me and did everything right so I felt she took care of each situation but it often wasn't with a back and forth battle to get it done.

While we are very happy with the final results, getting to the so-called "finish line" proved to be…read morea bit of a challenge. That is the reason for this update. This remodeling project was begun around July 21, 2022. About three and one-half weeks later, the job was listed as complete and we were once again able to use this bathroom. However, during the following week, we had to have someone come out again to make repairs: hot/cold water in the shower was flipped; hole along the tile and baseboard discovered; silicone was coming off the niche area in the shower; caulking was incomplete around the perimeter of the shower floor. Once those repairs were made, we thought that finally we were done. Nope. The paint on the ceiling started to peel above the shower. A lot. Finally had the painter return to repair that and we thought, once again, we were done. Apparently not, since we were told the ceiling was "fixed," but something different was evidently told to Roberto. After another week, the entire ceiling showed pieces of paint peeling off. Called for another repair. This time, Roberto came out and told us that the ceiling hadn't been done right in the first place and our only option was to tear out the entire ceiling and start over at an additional cost of $450. That did not sound like a reasonable idea, so it was then suggested that the ceiling texture be redone instead and painting would be done with eggshell (semi-gloss) paint rather than latex paint. We accepted that solution and waited for it to be fixed, finally. Painter came out and did the work at the end of September, but in total we were once again out of that bathroom for 5 days waiting for texture, primer and paint to dry. However, this seems to have truly repaired the problem - thank goodness. Then I get emailed an invoice for $350 for the ceiling repair. Wow. Paid that invoice on September 27, 2022: almost 10 weeks after the job was begun. Unfortunately for Roberto and his crews, though, he was what you can call "penny wise and pound foolish." We had informed every contractor that gave us a bid for this bathroom that based on our experience, we would then move forward for the really big job -- a complete remodel of the master bathroom -- a much larger and more expensive project. Because of the 6-week drag after "completion" and delay due to the ceiling repairs (along with other fixes) and the $350 invoice we received, we did not even consider a bid from Kitchen & Bath Remodeling for our master bathroom. Chose another contractor instead.

My wife and I are very pleased with Roberto's technical team. We had a bath tub removed and replaced with a walk-in shower. This email was sent twice in July and August. No response has been received…read more Mr. Wahbeh, Your company did my tile and wood floor installation in 2018. As you may recall, we made several complaints about the poor quality of work done. The grout was not applied properly and was streaking on the tile surface. The tile did not look clean and was smudged terribly. Leveling clips were not used, which caused our tile to be uneven. 12 x 24 tile is supposed t have leveling clips, but ours did not. We had over 40 loose tiles, many of which are cracked. Our tile professional is removing the tile and we discovered the following mistakes made. 1. The adhesive is not evenly applied. Tile of this size is supposed to be buttered on both sides to insure proper adhesion. See the attached photos. 2. No flexible substrate was used, even though we are on a pier and beam foundation. I was told that the backerboard would prevent movement when your company did the work. This was not correct; a flexible substrate should have been used according to tile professionals. 3. Flexible grout was not used. This is necessary with large format tile and specifically where installation is on pier and beam. The grout used was Fusion Pro which is specifically not to be used where there can be movement in the subfloor. Given the poor workmanship, we have now spent over $3,500 repairing and replacing tile. This is simply wrong on many fronts. I am hereby requesting reimbursement for $3,500 for our tile repair and replacement. I would like to hear from you by July 31st so that I can decide my next course of action. If you are unwilling to reimburse my cost of repairing the poor workmanship your company did, I will have to resort to a collection effort and advise others of our situation as appropriate.
