Leaving the phone overnight was a litle worrying, not knowing this rather back-alley hole-in-the-wall from anything, but the next day I returned... I mean... my friend returned... and picked up a working and unlocked iPhone. [I would never do such a thing, but my friend seems to have a lower set of ethical standards, even though technically he purchased the phone from AT&T and paid an outrageous early termination fee and they still wouldn't let it go.] Ummm... moving on. Popping in an O2 SIM, the iPhone immediately registered on the network and was fully operational! For the low, low price of £20, San Bei did excellent work and weeks later, the phone continues to operate fine on the O2 network and syncs to iTunes on the laptop without issue. (I didn't think to haggle over the price, but you may want to. £20 seems high.) San Bei also has a major selection of phone accessories and other accouterments. If you're needing some work done on an iPhone, or you simply want to bling it up, bring it here!

Was told to bring Mac in for repair by Apple Support. Asked Apple Support if it would actually be…read morerepaired since the computer is, "obsolete," (therefore would not be repaired). Was reassured 3 times that yes the computer would be repaired. Lugged the computer over to the Apple Store. Met with the Apple Genius who told me no, the computer would not be repaired - because it is obsolete..!. Amazing. Case was set up for this. Got the computer home, stored it and took it to 3rd party: CAD in Saunderton. Upon finally unboxing it I was shocked to see a crack on the screen that had emanated from a chip. Asked 3rd party if they were responsible for the crack, they said no - the damage was in the case notes. After some back and forth I was offered a free refurbished, replacement, screen. After mentioning that i thought that the Apple Store Reading may have also had something to do with it - the Genius unboxed it and I specifically remember a panicked look he gave me I tried to get in contact with somebody at Apple. The only option available was Apple Support again. I tried several times to speak to somebody which proved to be a complete waste of time and got absolutely nowhere. So I opted to try contacting Tim Cook himself. I was put in contact with somebody in the UK head office. He contacted the manager at the Apple Store who said the damage was there when it came in and, at any rate, the computer is, 'obsolete,' so they would not do anything. I was furious. I have tried contacting this character to follow up and to ask to speak to somebody more senior - he has completely ignored me. I was really looking for somebody t the Apple Store to speak to the Apple Genius. I was maybe naively expecting some frank honesty - but all I got was manger guff. I ended up going back to the The Oracle Apple Store myself and ended up speaking to the manager and he showed me the photo. Effetively w have this photo so tough luck pal) I left however upon walking away, I realised that the damage must have occurred when unpacked, the photo did not prove what he was asserting at all. I saw the genius earlier so went back to the Apple Store Reading. The genius was with a customer, so I sat nearby and waited. He asked me if I wanted something but i said its fine, I could see he was with an appointment, I was happy to wait. Shortly after that, he just asked me what i wanted. I had a conversation with him, in front of this other customer. He went to get the manager and came back afterward telling me the manager was refusing to come over because he had already spoken to me. Ultimately I asked him, "did you crack my screen?" He said that he could have done, it was possible.. maybe. I mentioned his panicked look when unpacking and he said there would be no CCTV footage anymore. I have now emailed head office again, and am not anticipating a response. I think this whole affair has been dealt with in the worst possible way. I have tried to reference the Apple Support communication but I suspect the hed office person hs no real interested in looking into any of this in great, or any, detail. That fact that I was sent in this place by Apple Support unnecessarily and the manager's attitude along with Apple head office ignoring me is just disgusting. Having used Apple products for over 20 years, I don't think I will ever use an Apple product again. I certainly will never enter an Apple Store again.

Apple Store migration resulted in permanent loss of my photos and documents…read more I had a very disappointing experience with Apple. On 11 December 2025 I purchased an iPhone at the Apple Store in Reading. An Apple employee performed the data transfer from my old iPhone and advised me to buy additional iCloud storage to ensure all photos would be backed up. My previous phone was taken by Apple under the trade-in programme. Later I discovered that a large part of my photo library (2021-2025) is permanently missing. Apple Support confirmed that the old phone had not finished syncing photos to iCloud before the migration, but by that time my old device had already been taken by Apple. The case was then incorrectly classified as "user caused". I did not delete the photos and relied entirely on Apple staff to perform the migration. Despite multiple attempts to contact the Apple Store Reading and sending a formal complaint to Apple UK, I have received no response. I expected much better support from Apple when a service performed by their staff results in permanent loss of personal data.

It's recognisable by it's silver front with GAME in big purple letters across the front. Generally the shops within this chain are never that big (as is with this one) but they still have a wide selection of games. This one is located within the oracle centre, but I can't tell you where abouts (sorry!). The games for each console are really easily labelled by huge headers that hang over each drop. I find the prices however are never really that good in game - they tend to be a little over priced. They have most games in stock and a pre ordering system if you want to get your hands on a game thats shortly to be released. In the middle are several islands which sell preowned games for quite cheap prices. These have been brought to game as part of their trade in service. By this it means you can bring old console games back and trade them in for cash or towards another game. It's quite a good scheme. There are plenty of offers usually on such as 2 DS games for £30 though the games tend to be slightly older games though you will something find yourself with a bargain. Game also sells consoles as well such as Wii fit, PS3 etc and the equipment to go with them. If you wish to try out the consoles, the major consoles with the biggest games are stored around the shop. They also have a points scheme where you can collect points on your purchases to buy games with in the future. Make sure you check here in the sales as there are some good offers to be had. If you need anything don't hesitate to ask the staff as they're really helpful and knowledgeable.
