I had contacted Stitch Awesome when I found out how quickly the turnaround would be. They got back to me quickly with their estimated prices and a confirmation that the turnaround would be fine. I then spoke with them about how my clients are a part of the LGBTQ+ community and if they would be comfortable with that. The owner was extremely kind and was overjoyed to work my clients. My client picked up her suit yesterday and they did a fantastic job! They were swift, accurate, and professional. She felt comfortable being there. I'll definitely be sending future clients there! And in response to the previous yelp review on here: As a tailor myself, it's completely normal for a tailor to ask for a deposit if not payment in full. This is because way too many clients abandon their clothing (either forgetting about it or deciding it's not worth paying to pick them up) after work has been done. I have a whole rack of clothing to show that. It's pretty low to give a small business a 1 star review because of a standard practice you're ignorant of. Also, if you're still unsure about going to Stitch Awesome for your tailoring needs because of the lack of reviews on here, check out their Google reviews! They are absolutely glowing. Living in Minnesota makes these gloves a treasure. The zipper broke off which cause the rechargeable battery to constantly fall out of its pocket while walking/moving around. Which in turn is a pain in the butt. I contacted Milwaukee (the manufacturer) indicating the issue, they said they couldn't repair it and recommended that I check a tailor. So I took it to a tailor, mirjana's in west St. Paul. I've taken a few things here in the past and she always did-a great job. She looked at the gloves and told me "I don't know where to start". Apparently the gloves are very unique, especially when it came to replacing this zipper. So long story short, she said she couldn't do it. At this point, I'm thinking I'm screwed because this one tailor whose been a tailor probably way before I was even born is saying she couldn't do it. I had given up. I said what's the worse that can happen and tried another tailor. Read the reviews for pjs and I was like okay I'll try this one. Showed Jeff the gloves and I told him what the other tailor told me, and he said it can be done BUT he needed a special zipper for it, which turns out he had one of these special zippers on hand. And before you say this was easy fix, I promise you it wasn't. It required undoing the stitch and some serious tedious work, which I don't fault mirjana for not wanting to do. Took a little less than a week to get to and repaired but he sent me a text saying it was ready for pickup and my o my was I impressed, didn't even look like an after market zip, even the stitching was perfect. On top of his work, Jeff was very kind, polite, professional. I wish I could rate him 10 out of 10 stars. Bottom line- I'm not sure you can find the sort of skills that PJS have in the twin cities. I just went in to pick up a dress that I dropped off a few months ago…read more The woman up front first proceeded to mock me on my tardiness to pick up the garment (excuse me for having a full time job and trying to keep my outings to a minimum due to the pandemic), then refused to correct a problem I had with the service they provided on a shirt I brought in previously. And once another customer walked in, my patronage no longer seemed worthy of her attention. I don't usually need dry cleaning services. I don't own very much that requires it. However, one (VERY expensive) shirt I own (Free People) needs to be dry cleaned, which I've had done numerous times with Mulberry's in Eagan (great establishment, by the way). Only one time going to St Croix Cleaners, and the shirt is ruined, completely shrunk. It is a rayon shirt that is large and flows, and now is completely form fitting. When I brought this up to the store manager, she refused to do anything about it. Because it had been several months since I brought the shirt in initially, she said they can't (won't) do anything about it. If it's store policy to not extend services past a certain timeframe from when the garment was picked up, that's one thing. To completely disregard someone and proceed to call them a liar saying it could have happened somewhere else since, is another. I'm supposedly getting a call from a regional manager to see if something can be done about it, but I was assured that they will most likely not do anything about it either. Will not be taking my business back here.
