We are in Columbus breaking up my parents home. My parents were voracious book collectors and someone told us about this place to sell their book collection. My 73 year old husband to several large boxes of books to them. The staff was incredibly rude and refused to offer any kind of assistance. He was forced to bring in heavy boxes and unload them into their boxes and then have many refused and forced to rebox them and carry them out only to find out that they would notify at some point if they would take them. He came home dehydrated with chest pain. DO NOT USE THIS PLACE, STAY AS FAR AWAY AS POSSIBLE If I could give less than one star I would read more

If you don't mind buying stolen merchandise, I recommend this willing accomplice. Even proof won't deter their protection of thieves. So 40 years of your collection ends up there all they ask is for is every receipt, even when detectives interview them, only return a small portion. No cooperation at all with authorities. The service is usually fine, but I bought a nintendo ds game from here which they have a large selection of... I asked the man behind the counter "are you sure these are all working"? he said "yes we test them all before they go in the display". So i bought it and when i got home it didn't work. i tried everything... cleaned it... made sure my ds was working properly but nothing... hoping to return it. definitely wouldn't purchase something like that from here again. read more

I love to read and in 2nd and Charles, I've been able to find good, clean used books at very reasonable prices. The books are in alphabetical order by author, so it's simple to find a book by a favorite author. They also have new books, children's books, young adult books, manga, CD's, movies, games and items that are tie-ins to books and movies. A really good feature is that you may also sell your books to them. You don't get a lot of money for each book, but the money can then be used toward buying more books. Win-win! This is a great place to come with your entire family. There's something for everyone. Books, games, toys, music, novelties and collectibles, all affordably priced. I love being able to find the missing chapter books that my son likes to read. The ladies were so helpful tonite with helping us find what we were looking for. And if you happen to find them "used", it's an even better deal. We walked out of there with at least 10 books between my 2 kids. I personally love their wide selection of blindbox toys up near the front. I even happened to find a few of the artist's series i collect, in their massive clearance section. I absolutely hate that the children's area is always a mess. Its so rude for other customers to open toys and let their kids play with them back there, or let their kids make a mess of the retail toy section. I cant help but pick things up so that my kids dont trample anything and make it worse. Other than that, i have nothing bad to say about this place. I could literally spend 2+ hours in here, looking around and browsing books and other things. read more

Everyone in the area needs to know about this place! They sell nerd shit. Not only that, they also sell second hand nerd shit. New and used books, video games, CDs/DVDs, comics, ect. They also take trade ins. This place is huge! Probably the size of a small Barnes and Nobles. You can easily spend an hour here. They need to open up a location in California! read more

I have been looking all night for the new super mario bro's game for the wii, and i called the columbus location when a nice lady told me it was there and the price. I go to the location, CANT FIND IT ANYWHERE!! I was so upset i was sure i was not getting this game tonight. Great place to go and wander around thru a huge selection of new and used books. They also have comics, games, DVD's & other fun stuff. I did see an area where there was a gaming system or more hooked up to a rather large tv with a couch. I didn't check it out because that isn't why I was there but looked like a lot of fun for someone who's into that. read more

They do not list everything that is needed to sell a game system such as a HDMI cord. It would be nice if they were upfront about that especially since they really give you the bare minimum when it comes to cash and/or trading your items. I will definitely be passing this store up in the future. It is just not worth the time. But if you want to kill time browsing it is ok but why pay full price for new books or novels when there is Barnes & Noble and Amazon. read more

This is a really interesting place if you want to kill some time and you like books, music or video games. They have a little of everything from old vinyl albums to comic books and collector items. Nice selection of books and they do trade-ins also. I was surprised to see the variety of musical instruments for sale as well. The prices are reasonable compared to most book stores. I like that they carry some of the older books and series. They have a nice selection of DVDs as well. I didn't really check out the video game selections but they look to have a pretty good variety there as well. read more

I had a truckload of textbooks. Brookstone started making families of students start buying textbooks and we never made one of their very brief buy back events. Also had a student at CSU never sold a book back. So when we were ready to move out of Columbus I gathered them all up in my truck and showed up at second and Charles. I kind of knew that a place like this would have a lot of rules and they did. They did not have a sturdy cart for me to borrow to bring these books into their store. I was limited to their three little spindly white containers. I didn't just have an armload or a backpack full of books I had stacks and stacks. This is for people that have just a cute little pile of books. I took my books to Valley Rescue Mission. I had valuable brand new textbooks. Gardeners Art Through the Ages, the latest addition, I hope they get a lot of money for them! read more

Great prices, but the book sections are not labeled well, and it's difficult to navigate. I would love to see the books more organized into more specific genres, but once you find what you're looking for, it's usually a great price. read more

Used CDs, books, even comic books, 2nd & Charles is a store on museum level quality. New selections come in on a daily basis, making frequent visits essential. read more
