He offered to make it up to me with a free service of some sort, I forget what. Doesn't matter - the point is that he made the effort to contact me and make it right. I admire that so much. I don't even live in the area anymore, but if I did, I'd go back and give them another chance. Old review: This place is awful. The guy there was rude, short with me, and totally ripped me off. My friend Heather had an awful experience here too - that's why I'm going to the trouble writing this review. I hope I can save someone from losing money and getting treated terribly. I ended up at Starwest comp on Redwood Rd and it was a million times better.

I was told they were ahead of schedule and already working on it. I was quoted over 500 to set it back to factory. Most of that was backup fees. It was a new computer and had maybe 3 files on it. He then lowered it by half when I pointed this out. I left it there, but I didn't feel I had a choice. When it was "done" a week later, it still had the same problems! He still charged me a ridiculous amount. When I complained, he told me about how many hours were spent on it. He did lower it a tiny bit, but not enough. Finally, when I dropped off my computer it had Windows 10. Now it has Windows 7! I feel like I was screwed and taken for. DO NOT GO HERE! I should have read the reviews myself. I went here because it was conveniently located.

I then contacted Marvin Shafer at Cygnus labs LLC in Erda Utah. Marvin is a very knowledgeable Computer Technician and was quick to respond to my request for repairs. He has all the latest equipment and computer repair resources. Marvin is an expert in diagnosing problems & he restored my computer to its correct operating condition in a timely manner and at a more than reasonable price. Marvin had me up & running in a couple of days. I am very pleased with the services he provided and will definitely continue to use his expertise in the future. The guy that runs the shop is super super friendly. I had to bring my one year old with me and while we waiting for some diagnostics testing that he was doing on my computer he went and grabbed some saltine crackers for the baby. We also spent some time talking about our mutual interest in cars for a bit Professionally wise, he very clearly knew his stuff and was able to troubleshoot the two issues I was having. I have 2 pets who shed a lot of hair, so we've gotten our fans cleaned multiple times. The other day someone actually asked me if I was using a brand new computer after the fans/ keyboard/screen was cleaned at Computech. Service is always super fast and thorough. I don't know anything about computers, including my own laptop and these guys will never make you feel silly (As a woman, going into other tech shops, this is a common issue for me). Earlier this year, when my boyfriend was getting his computer "checked up", the tech noticed signs that the fans were close to dying - Computech got into contact with us and offered to order and install the fans. They were extremely transparent about the cost of the fans and labor, making it clear that they were providing service at an extremely reasonable price. We will go back to these guys time and time again because of their friendly, fast, and well priced services.

If you read my prior reviews, you'll see that REVO Technologies is my go-to venue for all things…read morecomputer-related. It's been that way for roughly 20 years...even before REVO started as a spin-off from "Software & More" there in Holliday. The PC consultant there from Software & More, Jerry, who helped build us our first custom desktop back in the early 2000s started his own company in Cottonwood Heights called REVO Technologies when S&M went out of business. We purchased our second gaming/workstation "Stryker" desktop from him eight years ago...AND a 17" "Falcon" gaming desktop as well for my personal use. Despite a few glitches/bugs here and there, both of these last two PCs have been performing admirably...as we've continued to patronize REVO for upgrades, repair, and tuning. The most recent purchase last week was for my wife's "Stryker" desktop which needed some Win10 tweaks due to some mistakes I made last spring with User Account Control and administrative privileges... oops. I dropped the desktop off with Chris - the repair tech - on Monday last week and by late afternoon he had it finished, updated, cleaned, and working like a top! I paid for the diagnostics/repair ($70) and the tuning/cleaning service ($70) which eliminated all of the nasty dust that had collected on the inside of the tower case. Yuk...but money well spent! We got it back home and the new Canon MF753Cdw color Laserjet All-in-One printer drivers installed perfectly. My wife is back in business! Woo-hoo. As in the past, excellent service from Jerry, Chris, and the pros at REVO. Well done, and again Five Stars for responsive and accurate service.
