I started using the service department when I had my Mazda6. I dreaded having my car serviced. Every time, without fail, there was something expensive that needed to be fixed on my car...urgently. I didn't know any better at the time and thought it was typical service department tactics with a female. I have since used a different service department in town and have never experienced the same treatment there. When it came time to replace my car, I wanted a Mazda3 hatchback. I cannot remember the name of the salesman who I worked with (maybe Vince), but he was the textbook definition of sleazy car salesman. He was very pushy, and would call me to tell me they found a car that matched my needs and wishes. When we would get there, the car wasn't what I wanted. The worst part, when my husband wasn't around, he would make comments about how I shouldn't get married and question what I liked about my husband. When they couldn't give me the price I needed, I left. The salesman caught me in the parking lot and told me "Its only 25.00 dollars. You love this car. Let me take you out to dinner once a month and I'll pay you the extra 25.00". I was so creeped out by this guy I never stepped foot inside that building again. My husband had a Mazda and would need rides to pick up his car after it was serviced. I would always hide in the car and wait because I did not want that slimeball to see me. If I could give them negative stars I would. When I have friends or family looking to purchase a car I steer them away from this awful place. You've been warned. Stay away!! read more

After leasing the car, a friend told me that wasn't possible and had me open the driver's side door and look at the tags. Sure enough - made in Mexico. Just be careful. STAY AWAY!! HIGH PRESSURE, NO TRUST AND DAMAGED CARS!!!" I knew going in that I would encounter nothing but high pressure sales here from previous experiences but I wasn't expecting what I encountered. Fool me once, shame on you, fool me twice, shame on me. I walked in on my lunch break knowing exactly which car I wanted to look at since I had done my research prior. I clearly told the salesman Tyler I only had a limited time so I went for a short drive. When I got back, I asked Tyler if we could look at the invoice but that I had to get back to work in 15 minutes (10 min drive away) and only had 5 minutes. What upset me the first time was he didn't respect my time and proceeded to take at least 10 minutes to put together a quote and I basically had to stand up and start to walk out for him to come back with numbers. I ended up being late to work. After multiple text messages and emails that reminded me of a jealous ex girlfriend begging me to come back, my wife wanted to come see the car also so we could decide if it was the one for us. When we went to take the car out the sales manager John Mendoza wouldn't let us go by ourselves to discuss without the loudmouth salesman sitting in the back seat. The reason was so that "if we had any questions, he would be there to answer them". After the test drive in the brief moments away from Tyler, my wife noticed that every single car on the lot had scratches all over them. It looked as if someone had keyed every single Mazda 6 they had or their wash crew didn't clean their sponges first. We left shortly thereafter and decided that we would only buy that car if the price was right, which it ended up not being. We bought later that next day from Courtesy Mazda in Longmont, and they treated us so much better. No pressure, full trust and they earned the sale. A car dealership has to foster every sale through thoughtful consideration of the customers. If they can't take care of the cars, and can't take care of the customers, what are they still doing in business? Spradley Barr Mazda 2601 S College Ave, Fort Collins, CO 80525 Mazda Dealer Do not trust this dealership! Terrible customer service!! I recently purchased a vehicle from Spradley Barr Mazda and I was mislead several times by several employees and then spoken down to by the the general manager, Mike. First, the sales manager Homer told me he was dropping the purchase price to give me a good deal only to find out he "dropped" the price to the same price advertised on the internet. Second, we purchased an extra warranty and service contract for "peace of mind". Within a week of having the vehicle, we started hearing a clicking sound. When we called the service department, we were initially told to bring the car in, not to drive it, and it would take weeks to repair. Then, they told us we could keep driving if, bring it in two days, and wait for diagnostics. So, we did. When we called the service department at the end of the day and we were told that the needed repairs are not covered by the warranty and that the warranty does not start until 90 days after the purchase date. They expected us to pay for the cost of the repairs to a vehicle we purchased with a warranty three weeks ago! 3. Since I had not yet registered the vehicle, I spoke to the GM Mike about what my options were for returning the vehicle I had just purchased and I was told there are no options to return the vehicle. Of course they would not want to take a defective vehicle back especially after they listed our trade in sale with over 100% mark up. When I spoke to the GM Mike about my experience with being given misinformation and feeling disappointed, he offered to pay half of the cost of the repairs to "help" me out and that it would be deducted from the employees money. He continued to talk about hypothetical situations (like someone getting a flat tire) that did not apply to this situation. He told me to forget about the misinformation I was given by the service tech Joel because he is "young and new and doesn't know what he is talking about". The managers sit in an elevated platform (kinda like a judges bench). Mike literally stood up on the platform and spoke to me in a condescending tone of voice while I was crying about my disappointing experience at his dealership. I have never felt so small :(. When I told him I did not feel he was being helpful, he told me I could get my keys from the service department and take my car home to decide if I wanted it repaired or not. My overall perception is that the management of this particular dealership is more concerned about serving themselves than the customer. I believe the sales person Riley and the manager named Stephen to be upstanding men trying to make an honest living for their families. I just wish they had supervisors with integrity. We went to Spradley Barr Mazda based on the recommendations from friends who has positive experiences at other locations. I hope the managers at other Spradley Barr locations value their customers more than the Mazda dealership. read more

Mazda makes terrific cars, but when you have to buy one in a building stuck in 1973, the experience loses its luster. I don't know why Mazda allows them to avoid renovating this place. The service manager, Steve, is friendly and professional and been there for years. Iron Mountain Mazda in Windsor unfortunately closed, but it was new and modern and I miss it. On the upside, I got a free two year service plan from the dealership on my 2013 Mazda purchase. I've only bought gas since the purchase. read more

The worst service department I've ever been to. They tried to accuse us of tampering with the mirror and gas cap- YES BECAUSE I LOVE BROKEN THINGS IN MY CAR. So ridiculous- they just want to get out of covering faulty parts that should have been covered under warranty. I wish I could give them zero stars and put a warning sign out on their property. No rental all given out already...? Complete bullshit. Thats not how it works. When you "SET " up and reserve space to have work done and be able to continue with your businesses you dont respond with anything else but your word. So as it is mazda word isnt worth anything. First off, this is my 3rd experience with a Spradley Barr dealership, (Greeley Spradley Barr and Spradley Barr Ford in Fort Collins being my fist 2), and while I was hoping the third time would be the charm, it has turned out to be the WORST experience yet. My fiancé and I came to Spradley Barr Mazda last minute and in quite the predicament due to a non fault auto accident. While Jason and Riley stayed late and worked hard to get us into a vehicle which we definitely are appreciative of, they unfortunately put us in a lemon of a car. A promise at purchase to address and resolve a wobble in the vehicle has only led to various excuses about the wobble and nobody properly diagnosing and fixing it. A missing lug nut due to a bad/stripped wheel bolt was dismissed and I was told it must have happened after we purchased the car because the service manager's tech did a thorough inspection of the vehicle prior to it going on the lot, however, I PlastiDipped the wheels the next day after purchasing the car and that's when I noticed the weathered, rusted and PlastiDipped tip of the bolt that had obviously been missing a lug nut for some time. Hard shifting in the transmission occurring only days after the purchase has yet to be addressed by them. I even reached out to Tynan's Nissan who admitted issues in CVT's in Altimas and blatantly relayed to me that given the issues I described there is absolutely an issue with the transmission and it should be looked at further ASAP. Just barely over a month later, the check engine light is on and the car is overheating even though the coolant level is at the full line. We were also told that every car they sell comes with a warranty but we have yet to receive any kind of paperwork on said warranty. To top it off, they gave us $500 for our trade in, on top of taking every last penny we had for a down payment, and come to find out via their website, they are selling it for just shy of $7,000! A consumer expects a dealership will ensure they make a profit but a $6,500 profit after low balling us for $500 is jaw dropping! The best part is that our trade in is still sitting in our driveway with no auto tech having looked at it to diagnose issues or anybody valuing the car. I suppose this in itself explains why we found items belonging to the previous owner in the car we bought from them and the fact that there is an array of mechanical issues with the car. Point blank, Spradley Barr clearly only cares about making a sale and making a profit regardless of the cost to the consumer. My advice, GO TO ANOTHER DEALERSHIP! Do not purchase a used vehicle from Spradley Barr Mazda. I know we regret it. read more

I will not take my car here ever again! I stopped in for a simple safety recall to fix my airbags. When I got there I asked for somebody to explain to me exactly what needed fixed on my car before they touched it. Instead of somebody taking two minutes to tell me what was happening to my car they wrote declined service on the bottom of the paperwork had me sign it and sent me on my way. Previous to this I had my car in there twice for an issue that still to this day is not fixed. I would not recommend their service to ANYBODY!!! read more

Do Not Go Here. Go to a real dealership with quality cars and quality service. My Mother and I went to this dealership seeing if we could get a car. They will run your credit into the ground making multiple hard inquiries (even though we said to stop after we noticed how many times they were running it, i got 7 and she got 9) and then made me an offer on a car I didn't even want, that didn't even have working AC! And to put the icing on the cake, they were going to sell me a $7k car for $14k! (yes Brandon, 280 x 48 + 1000 = 14400) OH did I mention they kept us there for FIVE HOURS! When my mother expressed her disdain for being there that long, they tried to gaslight her, telling her that these things do take time and that she needs to be patient. Waiting an hour or two is being patient. Being somewhere for five, for them to not even offer the car I asked for is laughable. Also to the Sales Consultant Jon, who thought it was appropriate to call me and my mother "sista" multiple times while talking to us? I purchased a used Subaru from this dealer about 2 1/2 years ago. The sales people were rather sleazy (the sales manager kept calling me sweetie, in a condescending way). First Lesson: DON'T BUT A SUBARU FROM A MAZDA DEALER During the test drive, the salesperson had me drive to their Ford location, as that's where the Financing department was. I sat for over two hours feeling kidnapped because my car and keys were at the other location. Every time I started steering the conversation towards the time, the salesperson steered it back to some conversational topic-I felt totally taken advantage of. 2nd Lesson-DON'T BUY A SERVICE CONTRACT WITHOUT KNOWING THE REPUTATION OF THE SERVICE SHOP My Subaru is a 2010, and has only needed tires and oil changes. I believe I've gotten ONE oil change that went smoothly. For the others I've had oil smeared in the interior of my car, I've had oil levels filled too high, I've had the oil cap not tightened, so oil was bubbling out onto the engine (and they could never diagnose this when I would bring the car in complaining of a burning smell-a lucky run-in with a random mechanic, and he diagnosed it on SMELL), drain plugs ruined and not appropriately replaced, stories about Subaru's poor design to cover for sloppy oil changes and leaking oil... and when I asked them to check something out for my 60,000 mile maintenance during my last oil change, I was told (when I picked my car up 5 hours later) 'Honestly, we don't really service Subarus, and we didn't really know what it was you wanted us to check...so we didn't do that.' Oh, and the oil plug that they were supposed to replace because my car was leaking oil and was bone dry a good 1000 miles before I was due for my next oil change magically didn't need to be replaced, because they ordered the wrong size. So they decided it was only the seal that needed to be replaced, and did that. They also tried to tell me I was only a couple hundred miles from my next oil change, even though I'm a solid 1000. They lie to cover their butts, and they don't even do it well. I'm out of my service contract FINALLY. I will never recommend them, and will never take another car back. Even if my car starts leaking oil again from their last oil change...I'll take it to a professional. read more

If I could I would give zero stars. I'm still in shock. I came in to buy a used vehicle and it started off as usual for any dealership. I was directed to a guy named Ken. We chatted and I told him what I wanted and he said a vehicle was coming in and he would call me the next day. No call. So I called him even though I thought this was quite odd because ALL the other dealerships are incredibly attentive and call often. I got his voicemail and left a message. Still no call. I called the next day and he finally called me the day after and said the vehicle was in. We made an appointment to see it at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. I show up at 2:00 p.m. as scheduled and he's not even at the dealership. He flat out stood me up. So Mark the sales manager comes over and is apologetic, says he'll make things right and gives me another sales guy. We go searching around the lot and the vehicle is there either! Then then proceed to tell me it's at the other Dealership on the south side of town. So he and I drive down there. We start walking the lot looking for the vehicle. After looking over the entire lot he asks me to wait in the lobby while he checks out where the car is. It is in servicing and I can't see it. I'm in this for over an hour and half at this point on my weekend. I calmly express my dissatisfaction and leave. Again the sales manager reaches out to me and expresses his apologies said he spoke with Ken the original sales guy and made sure I knew he would personally make it right. We agreed he would get back to me on the car. He did but he hadn't;t seen it yet but we went over the details. I asked him to take a look at it for me so he could tell me about overall condition and he agree he would and get back to me. No call....So I call him the next day. He' said he was stepping into meeting and he would call me back in an hour. That was 5 days ago...... To you consumers that read this, spend your time and money ELSEWHERE. There are a slew of other dealerships that are polite and operate with integrity and WANT our business. If management of Spradley Barr reads this I can only say that Leadership begins at the top. I do not find it difficult to understand why the original Sales guy Ken didn't return calls and stood me up for a scheduled appointment when his manager doesn't bother to return calls either. read more

I'd only use them for a basic oil change. They lied to me previously about my breaks being in tip top shape. Only to be told a month and a half later during an oil change they were in must change now condition. After going to a different auto repair place, I was told they must have never checked them, and that there was no previous or active cause that would make my breaks wear within the time they told me. read more

Mechanical issues with my pre owned certified cx9 after 18 months. I replaced brakes all around after 3 months on my dime. A/c failure after 9 months and both rear wheel bearings at 62K miles. Can't get any one at Spradley Barr Mazda to make decision on if this should be covered by Mazda. The service tech told me to call back next week, So I did, the service manager gave me a number to call, which I did, they told me that they didn't deal with this issue and I should call the dealership.... Which I did (again), this time Ieft a message with the general manager.... And imagine this.... I Am not getting a call back. In the mean time I am having my vehicle fixed by a In Depended local shop on my dime ( again). Spradley Barr validates the "dealer" stigma, too bad I cannot give zero star. I never experienced this with BMW or Lexus pre owned certified post sales service. read more

After Spradley Barr's service department told me that I had broken my armrest and they wouldn't cover it under warranty I took it to Mazda of Lakewood and they said a piece was actually broken that made the armrest break off and they fixed it under warranty. I went to spradly just to get a key made. They had my truck for 3 days and tried to charge me $650 for parts in order to program a key. Thankfully I got a second opinion. Turns out they were using the wrong year of key and the repairs were completely unneeded. I've heard of them being dishonest and incompetent but didn't realize the full extent until this experience. I'm not sure if they were trying to take me for $650 or are just that incompetent but I would recommend never using Spradly even for the smallest of issues. read more

Mark has no intention of righting his wrong and told me that he has to be told to do so. This is an answer for the Katharine RaganThe deal was that the bought a mazda 3 has and had it for about 10 days as I remember then they came in and where given the option of buying the focus the agreed to it and signed all the documentation so buy Colorado law we did not have to let them out so I told them that the other option was that they pay the bailment or for the usage of the two cars as well as the services we had done on the Lexus the traded in otherwise they had to keep the focus that they signed for and took delivery of I am more than willing to get the service ticket for you to show you what we had done but my understanding from the state is that we are allowed to collect up to 10 days of bailment at 50 dollars a day plus mileage of .10 per mile and we did that for both of the vehicles they drove the new Mazda 3 and the focus and we may also collect the cost of repairs we did on his vehicle because we did not have to let him out of the focus because it was a done deal. Probably the worst car browsing experience ever. The salesman was fantastic, he would do any thing, I greatly respected the guy. But first of all the website falsely marked automatics as manuals and vice versa. They kept trying to push leasing on my father and I. When we finally did find a car that was in our price range (2002 ford focus base with 100000 miles) it cost about twice what it was worth, every thing was manual including the windows and mirrors. The salesman bosses were just the worst people you will ever encounter, our salesman went to talk to his bosses and they couldn't be bothered until our salesman said something. Overall it was just an awful experience. If you want to buy a used car buy it from a used car dealer or a private owner (or at least someone who knows something about the cars they are selling). I don't think i will be going back. I forgot to add that the salesman asked me why I don't want to spend more than our budget... Maybe its because I DON'T WANT TO SPEND MORE. duh. read more

Let me just start by saying do NOT take your car here to get it repaired. I learned from my mistake by taking it to a dealership (you would think they would be the "know-alls", right?? WRONG!) My 2001 Mazda Protege LX had been running the code P0300 I believe (random misfire) after having a few shaky goes up some big hills and my check engine light flashing at me, plus my cruise control stopped working.. Autozone is full of idiots because they could only run the codes and then tell me I needed a new EGR valve (yeah, no). Then I took my car to Mr. Mechanic, whom proceeded to drive it around for 3 days straight and have absolutely no idea what was wrong with my car. There goes $100. My dad, whom has minimal car knowledge, had replaced the spark plugs, wires, and switches (or coils? I'm no mechanic) for me. Now my cars check engine light would intermittently turn on and off, but my car ran fine. I took it to Mazda to get an estimate and see what damage had been done, and they quoted my $3,400!!!!!!!! I about died. That's more than what I have paid for this car. $750-$1300 for a new catalytic converter, which was the main issue (it had been fried from all the misfires that nobody knew was happening). They tacked on all these other random bull-shit sensors and manifold/vacuum leaks that didn't even exist "just to make sure the check engine light is off". OK BYE, here's another $100 for nothing. Took it to Tony's Automotive in Loveland, and $528 later I am out the door with a new catalytic converter, cruise control on point once again. Go to Tony's! I hadn't even gotten done telling him what was initially happening with my car and he knew that the spark plugs were fucking shit up. It only took 3 mechanics...but such is life. Moral: replace your spark plugs and wires regularly!! read more

Took my beater of a truck (b2300) in due to a recall on the passenger airbag. I was told over the phone while setting the appointment that they would need the truck the full day and probably wouldn't get to it until day's end--being that its warranty. Okay, cool, thanks for the heads up. Turned it in at 8am to service manager Sean. Quite the professional! I was expecting at least a little condescending for the state of my ride (the post walk through diagram had 'X's all around he vehicle indicating the beater nature) but none was had. I asked for a couple additional favors: oil change, tire rotate, land the ground for my starter that broke free. My hope was to pay a little cash and expedite. Again, professional Sean told me he would try but did not set false expectations by saying yes. Well I go about my day, getting my walking in for the year, fully expecting to have to twiddle thumbs for hours. Not the case! Got the 'it's ready' call at 11 AM and all of a sudden I have half a day restored to my life! Epic! Will return for routine stuff if I get too lazy to change oil myself--reasonable prices abound the service department. Thanks guys! P.S. Sean S. deserves a raise read more
