Kathryn simply took color analysis to the next level--she went through a series of drapes under neutral lighting and explained the effect of each drape in detail. Sure some of the palette is based on my hair/skin/eye color, but it ended up being so much deeper than that. Furthermore, I'm impressed by the cohesiveness of the palette. From neutrals to colors, each shade works beautifully on its own and with others. Price is on the steeper side, but since (1) she's based in the bay area; and (2) you will be receiving fabric swatches (i.e. not printouts or paint chips), it's still worth to me.

And then on top of that, my body changed during quarantine and those clothes didn't look good anymore. Desperate, I looked to style subscription boxes, but the amount of details I didn't know about myself and my tastes overwhelmed me. I wanted to talk to a person- someone knowledgeable, who could take a look at me and see what I could no longer see. That's when I found Brandi at Trés Chic. When I say she was dedicated to helping me- she read my email and decided to fit me in even when booked, just so we could talk. The process of having someone question you about your likes, dislikes, fashion successes and failures- its intimate and very personal, but Brandi made me feel comfortable enough to pour out my heart. We did a consultation in which I showed her outfits I owned that I liked, that I wished worked but didn't, and things I absolutely hated. She took pictures of the things I loved so she could find items to pair with them. We went into my Pinterest board and I showed her looks I was inspired by but didn't know where to start. We discussed looks I could wear to work and seamlessly transition into after work attire, like for dinner or drinks. I wanted looks that would draw attention away from areas that I felt self conscious about and highlight my strengths. We set a budget (there is a minimum, so if you want 1-2 outfits, she might offer something different) and set and appointment for her to return with what she found for me. About three weeks later, Brandi brought five duffel bags worth of clothes to my home, and we had a four hour try on session. Then she mentioned most people tip so of course I did. When my husband picked me up he was surprised I didn't look much different. Back at our hotel I tried everything on for him. We both decided most of it was too young for me or just not practical. Think club wear. I kept 2 or 3 pieces, and returned everything else the next day. The same salesgirl was there.
