I went here for lunch, so I got there as soon as they opened and was disappointed to find out that the kitchen wasn't opening for at least another hour. All I was able to order were a few things off of the bar menu, which were good. I had their hummus trio and their steak flatbread. Both were good, but I was disappointed. I couldn't order off of the full menu. I also ordered an old-fashioned from the bar and it was very good. The service from the bartender was excellent. I look forward to trying it again. read more

What a disappointment! Between the server being about as charismatic as a wet piece of cardboard and the "cook" over cooking every piece of meat we ordered, TWICE! The manager had kind words and meant well but 0 recovery! Now I understand why the dining room was damn near empty! And the Food? Was still wrong and overcooked! We looked forward to going here! We drove 30 minutes to a dining room that was damn near empty only to get mediocre, "steaks" at best! Avoid at all costs. If you're a drinker I guess this place is for you but regarding the food we tried to eat, Don't waste your time or money! Afterwards the nice lady from the Purple Pig said the restaurant across the way, "Varsity" was her favorite. Save your time and money. Go Elsewhere. Sad. What could they improve? The Cook(s)! A group of six of us tried this restaurant and we were all disappointed. A few of us ordered the half roasted chicken. It was $28 and did not include a breast. It also did not come with a salad or a vegetable. Only a few fingerling potatoes. No bread was served with the meals. It was available for $11 on the menu. The French onion soup was good and so was the wedge salad. Service was good, but the server had our charges mixed up and it took him several tries to get it right. Went here for lunch with a friend yesterday. I LOVED the interior. Great vibe and distinctly different from other restaurants in the Middleton/Villages area. Our server was friendly and prompt and offered clarification on the menu for us. We both went for the Greek salads. Their Greek salad has iceberg lettuce, cucumbers, chick peas and olives in it and comes with a Greek dressing for $12. You can add protein for an additional charge. I added chicken $8 and my friend added grilled shrimp $10. You can also add steak for $10. They serve still or sparkling water. We had still water and they leave a carafe for you at the table. It was busy but I could hear myself talk which is wonderful. A lot of local restaurants are almost impossible to hear anyone at your table when they get busy. This one does not have that echoey sound - I think it's the high booths and greenery - helps absorb the sound. We did think the space between the booth chairs and table was a bit large, but I personally rather have more space instead of not enough. The food itself was good. My chicken was nicely grilled chicken thighs. Probably 4 or 5 ounces (guessing). My friend got several large grilled shrimp with her meal and enjoyed them. My lettuce was a bit wet and wilted in spots, but overall good, and the other items worked well with the meal. The price for my salad was $20 before tip and taxes. Last night, my spouse and I, along with two friends, had dinner at a new restaurant in Middleton called 24 Middleton. As we arrived, I noticed an inviting outdoor bar and several tables where guests were already enjoying their meals. We like to arrive about 30 minutes early when dining out, so we checked in with the hostess, confirmed our reservation, and decided to start with cocktails at the bar. The restaurant also has a spacious indoor bar, and while the dining room itself is one large open space--which makes it a bit lively--the noise level never interfered with conversation. To our surprise, the bartenders were familiar faces: Jen and Brandon, two of the best mixologists we knew from a private club we once belonged to. They recognized us immediately, and I told our friends we were in excellent hands. I ordered an espresso martini, one friend did the same, another chose a cosmopolitan, and my spouse ordered his signature vodka martini. Jen remembered his preference--shaken, with a hand-stuffed blue cheese olive--and delivered it perfectly. Everyone agreed their drinks were spot on. Soon after, a gentleman with a British accent introduced himself as JT. When I asked if he was the manager, he confidently replied, "I'm the owner." I was impressed to see the owner so present and engaged. We chatted, and I learned that JT had once owned the private club where we met Jen and Brandon. It made sense that they--and later, other familiar faces--had chosen to work with him again. When it was time to sit for dinner, we met our server, Ken, who kept us entertained all evening with his humor and knowledge of the menu. My spouse, a friend, and I started with the French Onion Soup, which was outstanding--the best we've ever had. For mains, I ordered the Seafood Pasta, and though I usually avoid white sauces, the chef completely won me over. My spouse's grilled branzino was flawless, and another friend's Steak Frites was cooked exactly to her liking. Even the sides impressed us: my fries were crisp and classic, while the Brussels sprouts my spouse ordered were delicious. Throughout the evening, more familiar faces appeared--Kristina, another server we remembered from the club, and Peter, a former manager. It became clear that JT inspires loyalty, as so many of his former staff have chosen to join him at this new venture. 24 Middleton is truly a hidden gem. Between the exceptional cocktails, memorable dishes, and warm, talented staff, it's a place I would highly recommend. Our golf group went here after our Sunday round. We had 2 tables and were excited to try the new place. Our waiter was good and tried to be as accommodating as possible. Brandon the bartender was OUTSTANDING!! Food was good. I had the burrata caprese sandwich on sourdough. I would have preferred to have sliced tomatoes/ thick cut tomatoes instead of whole grape tomatoes in the sandwich. As soon as you bit into it the tomatoes fell out. My lunch ( out of 16 people) was the last to come out so I was still finishing my lunch while everyone else was done. Kind of disappointing. Will try the place once more and chalked this up to being new and still working out the kinks. read more

We returned with a group of 6. Let me reiterate, thank you so much for being different than one of the FMK or Suleiman restaurants that drowns the Villages with mediocre food. We had a private room, which was lovely, and wonderful staff. We got to try many more items and everything was excellent....from the appetizer trio with additional baba ghanoush to risotto, sea bass, branzino and steak. I ordered the mushroom risotto and modified it to be vegan and it was just ok. I'm sure the original version is excellent as the risotto side was addictive. We drove from the Sumter area down to Middleton - about 30 minutes and it's definitely worth it to have good food in a modern environment. My only suggestion to management is reconsidering the amount of bread served with the trip. Our table of six asked for additional bread and it was still very sparing and we had dips left because there was no more bread. read more

Looks like original cook staff all gone, new cooks, no one checking the food. I have noticed the Cheff de Cuisine used to be by the kitchen. Quality of the materials used changed. Hard to find great restaurants with actual flavor created by real chefs. Came here by chance for dinner and had the steak frites and grilled branzino. Everything on the dish had interesting spices that you wouldn't find anywhere near the villages except for a couple of fine restaurants in the Villages. Dishes range from French to Italian to Mediterranean. Service was top notch. Will be back for sure. Maybe have some alcohol at home before going do bill is in check. read more

I went there two weeks ago and had the best Marquerita flatbread that I had ever had. It was cooked perfectly, and the sauce was drizzled across the top. So, this week I talked another friend into going there and having the same flatbread. We had the same waitress and table. She was delightful. The manager also came over and spoke to us and he was also very nice. Then our flatbread came out. It was burnt around the edges and swimming in sauce, making it sticky and greasy. I don't know why this made it out of the kitchen. I love the place and the service, but they need some quality control in the kitchen. M first time there was months ago. I ordered a medium-rare hamburger and it came out very well done. The bartender quickly took it back and brought me a perfectly cooked hamburger. read more

First time there I was looking forward to it heard so many good things. The food was good, but you don't get a lot for the money. Chicken was great but the only thing you get and two fingerling potatoes. Soup of the day was very tasty, but the onion soup was too salty. Service was good, but hard for the wait staff to hear made a mistake with the order and wouldn't admit they were wrong said the person we were with ordered it and then changed their mind. Not good customer service that just wasn't true. The ambiance is fancy but a little dark in certain sitting areas. Not sure if we will return. read more

Read several reviews before deciding to try this place. Nice location and ambiance. However... Went for a mid-afternoon lunch. Not busy, but waited a few minutes to be seated. We almost went across the street to Victory instead. There was less than 15 people there, many seated outside. Both of our orders were overcooked! Wife's pizza was burnt (should have sent it back!) Burger was overcooked and fairly tasteless. Server was cordial, but not terribly attentive (waited several long minutes for drink refills). Will likely be awhile before we try them again. They could learn a thing or two from Victory or Havana CC! (Never had a bad experience or service at either place!) Bummer read more

We loved it the minute we walked in! Fantastic atmosphere. The staff at the front desk was fabulous, friendly and conversational. We ordered the Lamb. I was surprised that it was actually lamb meatballs, but wow! So flavorful! The steak frites were also delicious. The steak was well seasoned and the fries were crisp...pure perfection...we didn't even need ketchup! My only complaint is that we waited 20 minutes for our drinks and were charged $42 for 2 dirty martinis with blue cheese olives. That's the most I've ever paid for a martini...I will say it was delicious, but I will not order that again. Prices are on the high side, if you want bread before dinner it's an additional charge, but we knew that going in. read more

They offer many gluten-free options, we are very excited to see that ! The ambience was fun and busy, food was very good although they missed the sauce on my roasted chicken and brought out appetizers with the main courses for everyone. They just opened so I understand the challenges. The cosmos came out, looking like straight cranberry juice. And the four of us that had vodka cocktails, couldn't taste any vodka in the drinks. Okay, food ... very limited menu, but if you want to pay $21 for a Tito's martini and speak to an arrogant manager, that's where you want to go. When I questioned the manager about the $21 martini, he condescendingly said, "I've paid that much for one before, and that's what we charge," citing top-notch restaurants in Orlando - all of which I have been to (I used to live in Orlando), and this place doesn't hold a candle to them. I brought 14 women here after a female centered play at The Tracy. The restaurant was full of women engaged in enthusiastic conversation so we waited maybe 10 minutes past our reservation time. I read the back story and had high hopes. We were greeted when we walked in the door. The room was extremely dark, this was a Friday early evening ( 5 pm), very sunny outside. My husband and I both ordered the half chicken. Menu is very limited. The chicken came with about a half cup of smashed potatoe. Both chicken and potatoes had no flavor, we had to ask for salt. Our server was very sweet. Again, I did have high hopes, location is very nice but for the portions and flavor, extremely high priced. Disappointing experience! I rarely leave a negative review, but the visit was very frustrating, the service was ok but the food was cold. To start the onion soup it was very sweet, apparently they already had complaints , but did nothing to rectify, blaming the kind of onions they use for the soup. Two of us order the fish the flavor was good but the fish was cold. Then we ordered some broccolini that was also cold . We sent the fish back to warm up, but It came back even colder so we sent the broccolini when they brought it back It was so late we had finished with our dinner that . Once we got the bill We noticed that they had not taking the charge for the broccolini that we had sent back .To make it worse we noticed that the charge for ice $8.it should be basic not an extra expense that feel like nickel-and -diming customers Overall the experience didn't match the price. The broccolini and seabass was cold. The seabass was soaking in a butter bath for $38 with no side. Their onion soup was very sweet. The manager told us people had complained about the sweetness but they had made no change. The drinks are pricey and the real insult is they added $8 for on the rocks. Yes, $8 for an ice cube. They did not refund the side we did not eat and sent back. A table of 6+ adds an automatic 22% gratuity, even on separate checks. Never had my water glass refilled. Waiter was not professional. Delicious and delightful evening with first rate staff! Our server Paige was warm and helpful. A lovely Manger, Rhonda, also checked that we were content. And the menu was amazing - beef tartare, ceviche and grilled octopus were exceptional. We requested seats at the "Kitchen Counter" and it was pure theater. Chef Chris introduced himself as he made multi-tasking magic. And his Mom made the "secret family recipe" cheesecake we enjoyed for dessert. We'll be back again and again. read more
