In any event, he called to set up the requested showing and seemed nice, so I set up a few showings. He was super nice and easy to work with. He did a great job on this and subsequent showings of pacing them well and in an order that made sense, so we weren't driving back-and-forth across the area. He was also very responsive through the 6 weeks I worked with him. While things didn't manage to work out for me, I learned a lot. I also appreciated the great lawyer and lender he connected me to, as that were equally responsive as well as educational.

DO NOT BUY FROM ALAN CANDEA!…read more We bought new construction from him and his lackey, Chris, in 2023. They lie, cut corners, and refuse to be held responsible for their lousy construction. When we were looking at the unfinished unit, he promised the building would have a Butterfly system, instead we have a call box with no video. And it is not even hard wired so the plug falls out from the outlet there is no way to enter the building. When told he needed to fix it, he put tape on it and labeled it "do not remove." He promised to furnish the entry way, it is still empty. There is a storage room, the lock was installed wrong so it gets jammed often. He refused to fix it. The lock for our unit was also installed upside down, and jammed. So we had to hire a locksmith to fix it. Every unit had issues with the sealing on the windows and we had moisture damage on the window trims, this took MONTHS to remedy because Alan refused to admit it was a problem. The Internet cables were left uncut and dangling from the walls, had to hire an electrician to come and finish what Alan could not. The patio is on raised tiles. Throughout the building, we have over 50 tiles that were cracked or damaged on install. Several people fell through those tiles and were injured. When it was time to form an HOA, we managed to get someone from all 18 units present so we could elect a board. Alan actually forgot to bring his lawyer, so it was postponed by several weeks. ' He did not even have all of the fire extinguishers hung up in the building, we had to wait until a management company was hired to get that done. He promised to power wash the garage, still not done. I recently found a tube of tooth paste wedged in between the sink countertop and the cabinets below. It was sealed that way, I cannot remove it. When I reached out to Alan about this, I got no response. DO NOT BUY FROM ALEN CANDEA.

She was an absolute delight and a great representation of the rest of her firm. She was very responsive to any questions and concerns my roommate and I had (less than 1 hour after any text/call/email). She also guided us through the application process, making it clear and easy, and was more than understanding of our unconventional income. We're both college students making most of our money in summer internships and part-time jobs, so this understanding was SUPER important for us.

Miller tells you to make a portal request (that also goes ignored). They ended up blocking my number when I simply asked for my parking remote deposit back. It has been over a month since the end of my lease, and they never returned my money. Only after I posted a Google review, they said the parking remote was broken. How would I have moved my car out of a gated parking spot without a functioning remote? When living there, I had dirty water filling up my sink and overflowing onto the wooden floors due to a plumbing issue related to another unit in the building. It took Miller two weeks to send a plumber to fix the issue. I was putting towels down to avoid damage to the floors but the water was non-stop. I was washing my dishes in the tub for two weeks. As seen in the attached photos, I warned them that there would be inevitable water damage from this. I quickly noticed the water damage due to their delay in fixing the plumbing issue. I documented this in the portal with pictures. The portal request, texts, calls and emails went unanswered for months. When I finally got ahold of Andrea Miller on the phone, she told me that the water damage was my fault! She told me to contact my renters insurance, saying the repair was my responsibility! When I demanded flooring contractors to inspect the damage, the contractors laughed and said this was fully the responsibility of Miller management. The damage to my flooring was fixed TEN MONTHS after the plumbing issue. My rent was even raised during this time. See photos attached with dates to het a glimpse of how you will be ignored as a tenant. My lease over October 31st, and when I contacted them to return my deposit for the parking remote/ keys that I returned, they BLOCKED my number! Avoid this management nightmare at all costs.

Christen review…read more I found the Nicholas Ryan Team and was immediately in contact with Nicholas Ryan. He then set me up with Christen on a consult call. I live out of state, so I needed a trusted team to sell my tenant occupied condo on the North-side of Chicago. Not only did Christen sell my home in the off market and at list price but she went OVER and BEYOND to work with my tenant (who started out slightly disgruntled). By the end of it, the tenant, Christen and myself were working together! Christen brought us both peace in the middle of a pandemic! Since I was not able to be there in person, Christen and her team took care of *everything* making sure the new buyer has a freshly painted + cleaned home on closing day. I told Christen many times and will say it over and over. She is a true angel, not only as a realtor, but as an extraordinary human who wants nothing but the best for all involved. I felt deeply taken care of and honored in the entire roller coaster process. I am sure if I had any other agent I would not have sold my condo. She is special, and she will deliver!

As…read morefirst-time homebuyers, we walked into this totally clueless about how the process worked or what we were actually looking for in a home. We spent months going back and forth on 2 vs. 3 bedrooms, then roof deck vs. no roof deck, but Chuck had unbelievable patience with us. He gave us space to figure things out, always offered his honest perspective, and never pushed us. He even happily agreed to go back and re-tour a place we'd seen three weeks earlier (spoiler alert: we still didn't buy it). Throughout what ended up being a pretty intense market, Chuck was the calming presence we needed. He was insanely responsive at all hours and always had a thoughtful and well-reasoned answer to our questions. Every property we put an offer in ended up in a multi-offer situation, which was incredibly stressful. But Chuck gave us a real edge by doing the extra legwork behind the scenes, talking to the listing agents to find out what the sellers actually cared about so we could structure the strongest possible offer. It also felt like he personally knew every single agent in town, which built so much trust. At the end of the day, Chuck is that rare realtor who genuinely puts your interests first. We couldn't have asked for a better advisor to help us buy our first home. We loved working with him and would recommend him to anyone!

As first-time buyers we were nervous and had a lot of questions, but Chuck guided us through every step of the process and made everything comfortable, manageable, and exciting instead of overwhelming. Seventeen years later, we reached back out to Chuck again--this time to help us sell that same condo. Just like when we first worked with him, the process was incredibly smooth. Chuck and his team were diligent, professional, and very responsive from start to finish. Chuck truly put in the work to get our property sold quickly. He hosted open houses, he did the footwork, and follow up calls to ensure our condo received great exposure and strong attention from potential buyers. It really says a lot that after 17 years we knew exactly who to call. Chuck continues to provide exceptional service, and we highly recommend him and his team at Best Chicago Properties.

Dude is a saint. Put a lot of effort to let me tour on a weekend. He definitely wanted to get the commission. Nice chill mild mannered guy who overall understands most details of the properties he shows. May also have the halo effect working in his favor in a sales job like this (handsome chap). Definitely will work with Pioneer Realty again if I need to. They seem like they got their shit together compared to other agencies like "The Apartment Source", which mostly doesn't. Not to mention, while being a real estate or leasing agent is usually the job of an over eager shark trying to get you to sign stuff quick, Tim is a lot more subtle about that and genuinely informative. He did not come off too pushy in any way.

Point being, we have experience with a LOT of Realtors. And Markus was hands-down the best and the one we bought our condo we love with. Markus represented a property we looked at and I liked him so we called him to look at a couple other properties and he ended up being "our Realtor" from there. We were shopping post-real estate bubble at the bottom of the market so we were looking for a deal AKA a fair market price. Unlike the first agent we worked with who wouldn't take us to see short sales since they were "too hard to deal with," Markus bent over backwards to help us visit the properties we wanted to see, no matter whether it was a standard sale, short sale, distressed or foreclosed or how hard the listing agent was being to get a hold of (many agent don't like dealing with "cheap" properties because they consider them not worth their time). He was amazingly insightful into the real estate market, very friendly, flexible and responsive - one of the best professional services experiences I've ever had, truly. I really felt like Markus truly worked FOR us and put in a ton of effort to get us what we wanted. Markus was very experienced with working with non-traditional properties which was very helpful as we ended up buying a foreclosure. I really appreciated the fact that he did not leave on his rose-colored glasses and was able to look at the market and property with an eye open for flaws and challenges. I HIGHLY recommend Markus for any real estate transaction and we are definitely hoping to work with him again once we sell and on our next purchase if it's in Chicagoland.

Recently, my sons lease was coming up and he needed to find a new place. My son is very busy traveling for his job, so since the clock was ticking...rapidly, we made a decision to go back to Beth at Chicago Apartments and Condos for her expertise. While he was out of the country, I contacted Beth from California and she went on the hunt. Upon my sons return she took him out and showed him several places... knowing that he had approximately 7 days to find a place, get approved, sign his lease and move in...was quite stressful, however, Beth worked with him, listened to his 'wants' and 'needs' and found him an awesome apartment. Over the rest of the weekend she worked on all of the paperwork and was able to turn a 7 day process into a ONE (1) day process. She is truly amazing...and all of her co-workers really work as a team in helping out each other and their clients. I would definitely recommend using the expertise and dedication that they give each and every client, no matter what the clients 'needs' are. They go above and beyond what anyone would expect...and there is absolutely NO FEE...unbelievable.

The following morning, when I confirm the time, they tell me the unit rented the previous evening, and that because I didn't respond faster, they assumed I wasn't going to confirm. No mention whatsoever of the fact that they were showing the apartment that evening (I live about 5 houses away from it so could have been there in 2 minutes) or that it was being looked at all, or of the fact that it was rented, and that I shouldn't count on the time the agent suggested.
