Tech removed the broken key, made a few spares, provided me some helpful information, made payment and off he went. Hint: Technician works out of his van which makes things very convenient. I asked for quotes on Yelp and Thumbtack, and Mykel was the best value and was willing to hold back from coming until I felt like all hope was lost to find my key. He checked in on me a couple of times, and was rooting for me that I didn't need him. I finally asked him to come and replace the key. He showed up when he said he would, and he did a great job on a car that was a bit finicky about accepting a new key. He also made sure that I now have a spare key. I wish I needed locksmith's more in my life so that I could call him to do more work, but I really kind of hope I don't ever need him again. If you have a key issue with you car, CALL CARS 4 KEYS and hire Mykel. He won't disappoint, and his prices were the best of the 8 quotes I requested.

Overall impression was good, and I find them useful for all my locksmith needs in the future. I had to take an uber to the payday loan business and after I received the loan I had to call for another uber. The lender would only loan me $200 and I needed $250 approximately. The gentleman had to reprogram my key and the FOB so I could start my car remotely. He was finished with the job before I had the other uber driver pick me up. I told the man I didn't have enough money and would gladly pay him the following Wednesday or he could keep the key FOB until I could give him thecrest of the money. I added that I definitely needed to be able to drive my car as soon as possible. He was very kind and told me he would call his partner to see what he wanted to do. By the time I got back he had talked with his partner and they agreed to go ahead and give me the FOB so I could drive my car before payday. I told him I would not let him down and promised to have his money as discussed. I thanked him over and over again for waiting so patiently for me to get there and again while I took a cab to get the loan. He didn't seem uptight or put out by all the time he had waited or because I didn't have all his money. In fact, he made a spare key in case I would lose my key again. The next day his partner called me to tell me not to worry about paying them the rest if my bill. He said, "my partner and I discussed the balance and decided to write it off because I was so grateful and appreciative." The man on the phone told me it is nice to do business with someone so appreciative and kind. I appreciated the way they were patient, knowledgeable, compassionate and understanding. To say the least...they were punctual. They beat me to the job sight. I would recommend this business to anyone needing a locksmith including family and close friends. I rate them with 5 plus stars.

I don't live in Kansas City, I actually live in Los Angeles, however I needed to copy a Wink Haus key (which is rare in the US but common I think in Europe). In any case, I found Heart of America Locksmith through Yelp and Randy had posted a picture of a key blank that was similar to what I was looking for. I called and I asked if he could make a copy based on a photo which he said he wouldn't (in retrospect, copying a key from a photo is probably illegal now that I think about it). However, he did offer to look at the pictures of my key and see if he had a blank that matched which he could send to me. After I sent him photos of my key however, he determined that the blanks he had were similar but not the same and sent me a picture of what he had. He then gave me a suggestion for which blank I might be looking for though.

I bought new parts for the mortise lock on my decorative door, and the guy at the counter was helpful. I installed them myself. Then I flew back to California, and the lock started acting up. My brother and my 94-year-old mother live in the house, and one of them got locked out. I called, explained that I had bought the parts there, and they sent a locksmith out to fix it around July 10. I paid $129. The lock seemed fine at first, but then it started freezing up at random. Sometimes it worked, and sometimes it didn't. Since it wasn't failing every time, I waited until I was back in town to deal with it. When I called in October, I was told the July repair wasn't guaranteed. They wanted to charge me another $85 just to send someone out. I asked if they stood behind their work. They said, " Don't come out for free, and nothing is free. I said fine; I would pay. I just needed it fixed before I flew home on Friday. That's when he told me they would not touch that lock again and that I should find another locksmith. I was willing to pay. They still turned me away, even though an elderly woman lives behind that door. A friendly storefront is nice, but it means little if the company walks away when a repair doesn't hold. I won't be going back.
