Terrible experience. Damaged furniture with no feasible solution offered by the company. Before the…read moremove the owner, Kris, came and gave an estimate. We negotiated a price with a maximum cap. After the move, we later discovered he damaged my furniture he blamed it on an elusive conversation that he had with my husband that we somehow traded a lower price for their professional work. (which we would never do.) After the move, the walls were all dinged up and multiple items of furniture were scuffed up and gouged. Their solution was to tell me that a repair person *may* repair it, with no actual defined price that it would cost me out of pocket or a time-frame that the furniture would be returned to me. When I called to inquire multiple times I received no call back and an email saying sorry they are done with me. And wiped their hands clean. Meanwhile, I paid a lot of money for their grossly negligent and careless services and I'm left with damaged furniture and walls. Their response to us that we traded off speed for quality of service makes no sense. Why would we trade off speed of the move when we had a price cap? For them to start making up lies about a waiver is untrue and self-righteous. The fact that they offered for me to leave my furniture with a repair person for weeks or months without telling me if they would fully cover the cost truly is unacceptable. And their lack of accountability is as well. They are done with us, wouldn't return a call asking for clarification, and we are left with major damage on many expensive and sentimental pieces. Shame on them.

Maybe a red flag. The other company I was debating between had no time limit or charge per hour. It was a set rate. I took the change and paid the deposit for Cartier. Requesting a quote The call with each mover is very similar. You list your items and each company values your move slightly different. Some focus on including an hour travel charge, others focus on the number of boxes moved, etc... I liked Cartier because they asked about permits and proof of insurance. No one else did and assumed it was not needed. Other claimed they had no hidden fees. Cartier answered all my questions and didn't seem to have any hidden fees either. I was taken back that their sales rep couldn't give me a total. He said he doesn't want to mess it up by adding it all up. I called back to their main office and whomever answered the phone was able to give me a total. I paid the deposit and waited. Moving day The day before I received a text confirming my move. The guys called me letting me know they were on their way. They arrived at 10: 05 am ish. My move window arrival was between 10 am and 12pm. They were in my apartment ready to go at 10:14pm and asked if starting the time at 10:15am was okay? I said yes, and off they went. I went outside to look at the truck and it was pretty run down and didn't have the companies name on it. The guys weren't wearing company shirts either. The truck was huge and fit all my stuff, but it wasn't clean or new. These guys were quick, strong, and efficient. The moved all the boxes first, then wrapped the glasses, and lastly moved the heaviest items. The drive to my new apartment was 25 minutes. They said they were going to grab some drinks and head over in 10 minutes. I went straight to the apartment and they were there by the time I arrived. Just as quickly, they unpacked the truck, rebuilt my bed, tables, and it was all done by hour 3. One of the moving guys called Sebastian, who gave me a total, charged the card, and they left. I tipped in cash. Overall thoughts This company felt like it all worked out and that is why I had a great experience. For my first time using a moving company I was impressed. I would consider using them again and you should quote several companies and see which one offers you the best.

SECOND UPDATE: The owner has now modified his response twice, not only to correct his grammar but try to clean up his response and attempt to make it more professional. But at the end of the day, the entire interaction and all his responses still remain extremely unprofessional. I just purchased a new home and I'm doing renovations. I had some construction debris/junk that needs to be thrown out. I hired the Junk Squad to come out and pick it up. They were supposed to arrive at 12pm and after calling and texting the supposed owner Damien multiple times, he finally said his driver would be here at 1:15. I told him how unprofessional the interaction had been and he got offended and decided not to do the work he was hired for. Most of the conversation was through text so o have proof of the terrible service. When I called the 1800 number to complain to the owner, Damian answered and was incredibly rude and disrespectful over the phone and hung up on me. I don't know if he's the owner or not but I will be filing a complaint with the Better Business Bureau. So buyer beware and don't hire the Junk Squad.
