I reserved a taxi for my father who is disabled. I specified that we needed a wheelchair accessible van. I spoke to someone three different occasions and they confirmed that they would have us cover for a 5 PM pick up in a 9 PM return. Due to the rain, I wasn't going to walk to Suburban Station to try to take the train to the airport, nor was I going to spend $166 for a sedan to take me to PHL from the hotel. Looks as though a cab was my only option. Since I wasn't sure on rates, I had seen (on another hotels site) that it was a flat $28.50 to go to the airport, but after calling 215getacab, the dispatcher quoted $32 give or take. He could have been more helpful, but technically he did answer my main question. As for the information online, I didn't know what an egress fee was, or information about the meters, etc. for this specific trip, so I just bit the bullet and managed to get one from my hotel. There is a hotel fee for about $3 which isn't terrible, but now I can see why people go around the corner to hail a cab themselves to avoid the fee. Kwame was my cab driver, and he was cool. We talked a little but mostly had the ride in silence which was fine with me. He did start the meter by accident, but I was charged a lesser fee once we arrived. I felt the trip was shorter than expected, as it's been so long since I've taken a lot of these roads, especially to the airport. Once we arrived, Kwame was kind to carry my bag to the curb under the overpass so it would stay out of the rain. There was no meter in the car and they charged me 15 for the same ride another cab company chaeged me 9.80 for. They also charged a 2.50 cent fee when the hotel booked it. I thought if I booked myself I could avoid that charge but it did not. I will use any other company in the future. The drivers were pleasant but that is the only good thing about my trip. read more

I picked them after reading the reviews on Yelp. I was able to get home by the reliable service of ALL THREES cab service. I rode home in a clean sedan with comfortable leather seats. If I could give zero stars I would. This past Friday August 8th, I made the mistake of getting into a taxi at the airport provided by this company. Never again. Mind you, I had just gotten off a 12 hour flight from Athens, Greece to Philadelphia and spent nearly an additional two hours in customs. The driver took me to the wrong address and shouted at me asking to put the address into his phone again. He began harassing and yelling at me. I had to make it stop at a gas station so I could get the attendants to help get proper directions. Due to his aggressive demeanor and mentioning there are cameras in the cab, I had him drop me off at the entrance of my complex. I did not want him to know where I lived because he was so aggressive and appeared dangerous. I called the company and made a formal complaint with the manager: Maria. I just had a terrible experience with the Get A Cab service. The driver drove up and looked to be under the influence of something. He was slurring his words and couldn't finish a sentence. When I asked him what was the matter he drove off as I was getting in the cab. Almost ran over my dog. I called Get A Cab and they said they couldn't do anything because they don't know which of their drivers answer calls for taxis. They therefore refused to do anything. After a trip to Toronto, I needed a cab to get back home. This 215 Get A Cab was the first one to come, so I decided to jump in. The driver quickly came out and loaded everything into the trunk. After that, I than got into the cab. It wasn't the cleanest cab I had ever been in, but I would not call it dirty. This specific cab had a mini-tv with news updates from NBC 10 and NBC Sports. They also have an app that allows you to choose specific taxi drivers. Anyway, my cab driver today was a really nice guy. He knew some of the back roads and back roads, which I was really surprised to see. I usually have to direct the driver around on the back routes. The driver was also a really nice guy and had a great personality. Unfortunately, he wasn't the greatest driver. Once, he cut in between lanes and a car started beeping at us. Other than that though, the driver was great! The ride was fairly expensive at over $50, but I have had more expensive cab rides. We wanted a cab for 10:15 AM tomorrow with room to take a walker. Waited 5 minutes on hold before connecting, and talked to a woman with a thick accent. (Not the Philly accent. lol) She had to repeat three times before I understood that she wanted to know if I wanted a "wheelchair cab or not." I repeated, "It's a walker, not a wheelchair." (I've got no idea what she meant still.) She said something else that sounded like she had to check. A minute later, the call was disconnected. 30 seconds later, a cab driver called to tell me he was here. I told him, "Now I know if we should go by cab or bus. Nevermind." I started writing this review, when I got another call from Get-a-Cab. I tried telling him to make sure no one called me again, but he was patient enough to wait until I was no longer boiler, and made sure he had the right details for tomorrow morning, including room for a walker. Uber has taken over cab service in this city, but at least I know cab drivers are vetted. In the last seven years, I've gone from having five cab service numbers in my wallet to this one. The two-star is based on my total experience with them. In the age of Uber and Lyft taking a cab is one of those after thoughts that are almost always avoided for me. But sometimes there comes a dire occasion where they're the only thing you can turn to. And after just such an occasion that I had, so long as I'm within the Philly proper I know that the cab company who's name is their phone number is the only one that I'm going to turn to. When you lose your mobile phone you go through all the motions of panic and disarray. And that was exactly were my mind was running as soon as I got out of a shared Uber ride to a friend's, felt my pants pocket, and learned that my phone wasn't in it! Fortunately I had some phone credits on my Skype, and was able to log in and call Trestle Inn to confirm that they were my heroes who found it. But they were closing up at 1:00 AM for the evening which meant that I could either pick it up in less than an hour, or get it at 5:00 pm the next day which wasn't an option! Fortunately 215 Get A Cab having their phone number as their name made it an easy one to remember while I was in dire straits! And in less than a minute I was talking with an understanding dispatcher who was extremely friendly, knew my exact location through personal experience (Sometimes living by Cheesesteak Vegas does come in handy!), and was able to get the nearest driver outside my door in under five minutes! The driver was an extremely cool gentleman who was easy to talk to, and was quick to understand the limited time window that I had to act. In no time flat I was back in the bar with more than 10 minutes before their close, and I was given a quick ride back to homebase. In the age of Uber and Lyft I'll probably still stick with convenience overall. When I asked about their policy, she said something like: people are confused and tired of it, aren't I? I'm not confused. In a place, etc. with strangers, I wear a mask. Hailed a cab on July 11, 2019 at approximately 3:30 from the Comcast center to Broad Mifflin. Driver took me to my destination. Paid with a debit card, the transaction shows up on his machine as cash and he disputes with me that it didn't go through, yet the machine verbally thanked me for paying. Unfortunately, I didn't ask for receipt. The cost was $12.35. I explained that I disagreed with him, but rather then argue with him, I explained I would pay him "again" but, I would dispute if the charged showed up twice on my credit card. I swiped my card again selecting credit using my debit card, and the transaction went through. This time I selected getting a receipt. The cost was now $12.65. I asked for the receipt and he refused to give it to me. Again, he said his machine showed the transaction was cash and that was not right. I told him I paid him twice and left the cab. The driver abandoned his car and followed me while verbally assaulting me. I called 911 and the police came. I brought up my bank App (TD Bank) and showed the police the transactions on my phone. The police saw the transaction and the amount of $12.65 was posted to my account. The police ushered the driver away. I certainly didn't bargain for being assaulted and having to call the police. read more

If I can leave a one-star review I would. Coming home from the airport tonight I took a 215 taxi. I've never had a more terrifying and horrible experience with a drive service in my life. To start off, when I got in the car the driver just started driving and didn't want to hear my address. I tried to ask him how much it would cost. As well, I tried to tell him my address multiple times, but in broken English he kept saying "I know". He immediately asked me if I was a visitor or if I lived in the city. He then proceeded to purposely get lost while driving erratically and unsafe. The car itself that I was picked up in was old, battered, dented, and smelly. When I tried to correct him and tell him that he was going the wrong way he proceeded to yell at me in broken English. Then, once I convinced him that he was going the wrong way he wouldn't give me a refund for the time/miles that he got lost for. Finally once I got home I saw the price was $70 which was $40 more than Uber/Lyft. Then as I was getting out of the car the driver had the audacity to yell at me for giving him a poor tip of only $6.
