Pilgrimage to Italy/France (October 6-18), 2025 The customer service/account representative I dealt with felt impersonal and not very friendly. I hesitated to ask questions because their manner wasn't very welcoming -- it almost felt like I wasn't really treated as a customer. The trip itself was action-packed -- as expected, there was a lot of walking. Since this was my first pilgrimage, I wasn't entirely sure what to expect. While it was enriching to visit so many sacred sites, I didn't feel I had enough quiet moments to truly pray or reflect. I don't place that entirely on 206 Tours; October was close to the end of the Jubilee year, so there was a big influx of pilgrims from different countries. With that many people, it's understandable that things felt a bit rushed. We also changed tour guides three times, which may have led to some miscommunication and a lack of consistency throughout the trip. It would've been nice to have one steady guide to provide continuity and spiritual leadership. We stayed in four different hotels. The first one was fabulous, but the quality went downhill after that. At the second hotel, I was placed in an accessible room with a bathroom that was uncomfortably high, and since I shared a room, we were only given one key, which was inconvenient. The third hotel was extremely small -- really cramped -- though the fourth one was much better. Overall, I'm grateful for the experience and the opportunity to visit so many sacred places. I just think 206 could improve on personal connection, communication, and hotel consistency to help pilgrims feel more cared for and comfortable throughout the journey. But I think what affected me most was the customer service experience at the beginning. It set the tone, and I wish it had felt a bit more welcoming. read more

I have traveled with 206 Tours on several occasions, and they are top notch. Each pilgrimage is centered around the Holy Mass and that Mass is always in a sacred location visited on the pilgrimage. Great guides, beautiful clean hotels, delicious meals, and learning more about my faith each day in each location. Every time I travel with 206 Tours, my faith grows in unexpected ways. We traveled in a 206Tours tour group of Rome and Assisi in mid-October 2025. The tour included 4 nights in Rome and then 4 nights in Assisi. 206Tour vastly under-estimated the Rome crowds during the Jubilee Year, and so we waited/stood for long periods of time to see the Rome sites on both days. With 40 years in the tour business, 206Tours should have done better. Instead of the 4-4 split, it would have been much better to have had 5 nights in Rome and 3 nights in the Assisi area. Our tour time in Rome was insufficient. The Vatican day and the Ancient Rome day were both rushed. We moved quickly through the sites, and there was not time to explore the sights or to shop on either day. Our tour time in the Assisi area was too long. While the tour of Ovierto was excellent, touring Bevagna was a waste of a time, as there was not much to see. Our accommodations at the AC Marriott Hotel in Rome were fine, with a clean, comfortable room, very good food (breakfast was excellent!) and a service-oriented staff. The hotel earned its 4-star rating. Our opinion of the Dal Moro Gallery Hotel in Assis is that the hotel, also rated as a 4-star hotel, is a "2 star" hotel. There was no A/C (we were told that they had "winterized" the HVAC, so it was impossible to have A/C), and opening the windows for ventilation allowed street noise and pigeons - yes pigeons - in; there was pigeon poop on the inside ledge. Our room was small (even by European standards), and hallway noise was common. The room carpet was stained, with a slightly larger than tablet-sized TV, and an acrylic desk chair. When we complained to the front desk about the TV size, we were told that all the room TVs were the same size. We knew this was not true, as we had spoken with several other guests. The bathroom was cramped with very limited counter space. It had no facial tissues, and the very small shower had mold in several areas. Breakfast was limited in food and beverages. Dinner was mediocre with a few exceptions. The front desk manager was cold and brash. The hotel was far below what it showed/stated on its public website - e.g., photos vs. reality, no live piano music in the lobby. Our travel/flights from our home location to Rome were fine, with a quick connection. Our travel/flights from Rome back home were poor. We traveled 2.5 hours from Assisi to the Rome airport, and then took a flight well past our final destination, and had to double back, making for a 22 hour return trip from the time we left the hotel in Italy until we landed in our home airport. 206Tour should have planned for us to end close to the Rome airport. read more

Big failure for 206 Tours, being a Catholic tour company, to not have Mass the day we went through the Holy Doors and thereby we did not receive the Plenary Indulgence. The whole purpose of this pilgrimage, only occurring during the Jubilee year and won't happen for another 25 years, is traveling all the way to Rome to go through the Holy Doors in order to receive the Plenary Indulgence. Very disappointed our spiritual needs are not a priority for this company and kept us from receiving a Plenary Indulgence. 206 Tours also had people join the pilgrimage late yet provided them exceedingly better accommodations and food. 206 Tours really should have selected different people at each new stay so that that same group didn't get to have the high class treatment for all the days. My hotel did not provide enough breakfast to-go bags the day we waited for hours at St. Peters and the dinner meal in Rome was the same meat dish for 3 nights. read more

Wonderful pilgrimage to Santiago de Compostela (Portuguese) - our tour guides (2) were excellent. Once on the Camino, and every day, details were shared clearly and were executed as planned. Wonderful hotels and meals (lots of food), beautiful prayer time, and such a perfect experience at the cathedral of St. James. Unfortunately our flights were cancelled going out, so lots of re-routing the morning-of. 206 responded quickly to reschedule our group, now on several different flights. One improvement I would suggest is that of planning and communication leading up to the trip - I felt it was very sparse. read more

We just got back from the Our Lady of Guadalupe Pilgramage in Mexico City and Puebla. As all their tours it was excellent. Both the priest, Father David and the guide Roberto were informative about all aspects of the tour. Hotel Barcelo's rooms and restaurant were fine. We had concerns about safty in Mexico, but after researching it and did what was requested, by staying with the tour group we found it very safe.I highly reccomend any tour they offer. "Disappointing" only begins to express my sentiment for 206 Tours! 206 Tours cancelled the pilgrimage my wife and I signed up for and now they won't return our deposit!!! Instead, they want to hold on to our money until they organize another tour next year. So, they collect the interest on our money foe a tour that again, may or may not happen. I specifically selected vacation time from work and now they cancelled it. Most unbelievable is that when I asked for a refund, they contend that we're the ones cancelling as they can always offer another tour next year!!!! Buyer BEWARE. Follow-up: I was very gratified to be contacted by the founder of 206 Tours who assured me that I was misinformed by their representative. Their business model is to indeed provide a refund when the tour company cancels the trip. I have since received a refund and I am very happy that this could be resolved amicably. My first trip with 206Tours, 9 day pilgrimage to Medjugorje. Exceeded all my expectations. Booking went smoothly, great communication with staff, plenty of information ahead of time. Excellent food. very professional, friendly and helpful staff. Plenty of activities included in itinerary, but still ample time to relax and enjoy exploring on your own.The only "con" is the fact I could not use my millage account to upgrade my seats, because the agency buys bulk seating, but that can be fixed by using "land only" tour option and make my own travel arrangements. I think our tour was pretty good. Following in the footsteps of St. Paul in Greece and Turkey was wonderful (not as good as when we went to Israel with another company, but hey, it's hard to follow a "Jesus tour." The tour guide was very good and we liked her personality and humor. We did not have enough free time in any given place to shop and walk around by ourselves. I felt like the times we did have time to shop and eat, a cut was going to our tour guide. In other words, it wasn't the best food options, but 206 tours was getting a kickback. That much was obvious with certain color discount cards going to each group at each restaurant and shop. I didn't like the fact that we were expected to tip so much. Each driver, each tour guide, each day. I get the fact that you don't want to get stuck with a dud of a tour guide and that tipping provides an incentive for them to do well, but with the price we already paid to go on the trip, it seems a bit excessive. Additionally, the priest that we had with us told us that he received $1000 directly from 206. His trip was also free (which I completely understand and would hope so). It was good to know so we didn't feel like we had provide a gift for him as our spiritual leader as well. To top it off, we were supposed to put our luggage outside our room by 11:00 PM on the last night of our cruise. The next morning, we recovered our luggage in a caged area in Athens. One of the wheels was completely busted and the corner of my luggage was broken between the time I left it on the ship and the time I received it the next day. I reported this immediately to my tour leader's wife and was provided an email address for the Celestyal Discovery to send pictures of my luggage. Upon returning to the US in the the next few days, I sent pictures of my damaged and now unusable luggage to paxserv@celestyal.com. They replied that they couldn't do anything about it because I should have reported it while I was on the ship. I couldn't report it on the ship because I found out about it after I got off the ship! Also, I no idea when I got off that the person who worked at the port was with the cruise ship. Similar to baggage claim at an airport, I assumed she was a port worker who works there and knew little English. We will definitely not be using Celestyal again. It's a toss up whether we would use 206 again. I LOVE the idea of going on Catholic pilgrimages in all the locations they go (even though our tour guide was Greek Orthodox), but the price and the damage leave a bad taste in my mouth. Typing this and re-hashing it bring back the bad memories, but at least I can have some closure. All I wanted was a little compensation for my damaged luggage. I took a pilgrimage tour of Sicily, Loreto, Sorento/Amalfi and Rome. Tour guide (Luca Maglietta) was extremely organized, helpful, patient and knowlegeable. He was a great problem solver. Was able to herd the 43 "cats" that were in our party. We had knowlegeable "specialist" tour guides in each of the areas that we visited (Pompeii, Vatican, Taromina, ...) who were also great. Busses were new and clean. The drivers knew their stuff winding through he narrow roads of Sicily. The 206 office staff was easy to book with and work with. I always said it was tough to get a bad meal in Italy until I booked a tour with 206 Tours. We found this so-called tour company to be lacking and disappointing in so many ways. Before the trip, the person in charge of the trip had an assistant. this assistant couldn't achieve the simplest of tasks, like sending the proper email or answer questions we had about the trip. Once we were on the trip, several meals were horrible hotel rather than restaurant meals. Here is an example, on one night the hotel served all of us cod fish. You had no choice. If you didn't like fish you were out of luck. In short, we were in the greatest place in the world to experience culinary delights, i.e., Italy. But what we experienced was like going to a fast food restaurant with only one item on the menu. Let's talk about hotel accommodations. The second part of the trip, which was for around four days and three nights they told us that they had to split up the group. Half of us went to another hotel several miles from where we were staying. This meant we couldn't dine with friends shipped off to another hotel. About the hotel that we stayed at, it was three floors but the elevator only went to the second floor. No joke, the elevator did not have the capacity to go to the third floor. Guess what floor my 74 year old wife and myself were on? Yeah, you guessed it. They put us on the third floor. Let me tell you about when we arrived at the first hotel on the very first day of our trip. After being on a plane for several hours, we were bused to the hotel. The problem was that we got to the hotel around 11am but guess what? The rooms couldn't be occupied until later in the afternoon. Did they have the brains to take us to a place of interest until the rooms were ready. I mean there are several places of interest in Rome. But no, we had to sit from 11am until our rooms were ready in the hotel lobby. We were tired, sweaty, and hungry but we were on our own. Do you know what our meal was at that hotel? The MAIN ENTREE I received were four raviolis. Oh no, it gets better. After my delicious 4 raviolis, they gave us a piece of cake for desert. Now that might sound good. I 'assumed" the coffee was coming. Well you know what they say about assuming. I asked where is the coffee? they said, its not included in the meal. Well, that was it! I read the riot act to the guy in charge and shamed him into bring coffee, no thanks to the tour company. How ironic is it that these people run "religious trips". Oh, let's talk about our guide. How would we describe her, obnoxious, disrespectful, and arrogant. Here is the bottom line, these people should be ashamed of themselves. read more

I have just returned from the Classic Italy pilgrimage. This was my first pilgrimage with any company, but many in our group had traveled with 206 before. As this was a pilgrimage, we enjoyed the company of Fr Jay Harrington, OP, as our spiritual director. His care for each pilgrim was beyond expectation, and his preaching was inspiring and personal. I was completely surprised at the locations that were arranged for our daily masses. We had mass in a crypt chapel below the floor of St Peters, for example. Every mass was in a special location that radiated with centuries of love and devotion. Accommodations were top of the line. Food was carefully chosen, and provisions were made for special diets. My friend had a small medical issue that our guide resolved as soon as we alerted her, and she continued to check in about it every day. The brochure does mention that each day will include walking, but we were astonished that we averaged 3.5 miles a day and there were lots of stairs. It was good for our bodies, but way more than I expected and a little hard on our older or less healthy pilgrims. Our guide Federica is the best! She was a mother hen whom we all fell in love with. Amos kept us safe and well-hydrated in the bus. The local guides were mostly excellent-Mateo, Luciana, and, of course, Tiziana, dahlinks! read more

Its been a couple of weeks since we arrived from Medugojre. Returning from a trip like this and after living such an amazing spiritual experience, writing a negative review becomes awkard. Our experience with the Pilmigrage was excellent as we were blessed to be in a group that included a Priest, a beautiful soprano and tenor who sang at each of the group masses. It was the perfect touch, beside having a tour guide with whom the group bonded perfectly. We still stay in touch with him. Our problem was with the staff of 206 Tours. In March 2023, we contacted 206 Tours and asked if my husband needed a Visa and was told he did not. A second call was made in April where I and the person who invited us to the pilmigrage was on the line too. She heard me asking if my husband who is a Resident (Green card) needed a Visa and was answered, he did not. In June, I finalized the full payment for both of us. Towards the end of July, my husband told me to call again because he taught he needs to have a Visa. I told him I had asked twice and the answer was no. To relief the stress he had, I called again and spoke with the staff who told me this time that I needed to call the Embassy of the country of origin of my husband. I quickly called and was told I had to call the Embassy of the traveling country--Bosnia. I call right away and was informed that YES my husband needed a Visa. To get the Visa we had to travel to Washington DC or New York to apply in person and that the Visa process takes 90 days. The Embassy even suggest for us to travel via Croatia which did not required a Visa. I called back 206 Tours and told the staff the information I received. We were unable to travel to Washington DC or NY. I informed her that the Bosnia Embassy suggested if I travel via Croatia my husband did not needed a Visa. The reply I got was that she was going to see if she could get us a flight to Croatia. I waited two days and called back 206 Tours as I did not hear from her. She informed me that the flight was coming in late and I became worried as to who will be waiting for us. Apparently no one, we were on our own. All of the sudden, I received an email from her tell me what I told her on the phone and now all communication had to be via email. A week went by without no resolution, so my husband told me for me to go along with the rest of the family that he would stay. Being this was the only solution, I call 206 Tours to cancel. I was told that the $400 deposit was not going to be refunded and that 25% of the payment made was not going to be refunded. I informed this before the 61 days per the refund policy. I was only refunded $1549.25 and had to wait over a month. I felt this was the miscommunication and the lack of information or knowledge. I am a business owner, and for me client satisfaction is big. I felt I was treated without compassion, and like oh we messed up, lets ignore this so that it would go away. Thanks to God money for us is not an issue...neverthless the full refund minus the $400 would have been appreciated it as this was not our fault.. it was because of the misinformation which was provided to us. I was upset and prayed on this. I am writing this review not to hurt anyone, but rather to let other people know my experience, as this is alot of money, that many people work hard to put together to make this pilmigrage. I know that effective Jan 2024 every one traveling to Europe will need a Visa as it is now required. This lack of information cost us $1549.25. I've made believe this was a donation or charity made. Please verify all information if traveling this year with 206 Tours, as the staff will be nice at the beginning and then when something goes wrong, they will not talk to you. We also had the problem that we were a family of 14 and requested from the beginning to be seated closed by in the flight. This did not happen, we were all scattered through the plane. There is not much you can do until 206 Tours releases the flight to the airline and by then the flight is full. My daughter had called to get some information regarding the hotel, and we are still waiting for the return call. read more

We just returned from a pilgrimage to the Holy Land followed by a short add-on trip to Rome with our parish priest. It was our first trip abroad and we had some concerns. 206 was amazing!! They got us around without delays. When our 206 bus developed a water hose leak while in Samaria, part of the West Bank and couldn't send another bus while at lunch and touring our outstanding driver, Housein, was able to figure out a way to limp it back to Jerusalem using the many cases of bottled water that were there for us with minimum delay. Our guide, Jack was phenomenal! His knowledge of ancient history, BC and AD as well as being a Scholar of the Bible and church teaching was incredible!! His knowledge of local vendors, restaurants and sites that are generally overlooked was also very incredible! Our expectations were exceeded on every aspect of our trip. 206 guide in Rome and the Vatican guide provided us with an equally awesome visit. Our hotel was within a very short walk to the Vatican. Our first morning was a Papal Audience! It was transferred indoors due to extreme cold. Because of the awesome scheduling we were able to sit in seats along the procession and recession aisle and many in our group were able to shake hands with Pope Francis!! We never had to wait in long lines. We saw much more and our daily masses were held in very special chapels in St Peter's Basilica at the tomb of St John Paul II and at St Anne's Church and St. Paul's Basilica in the chapel of St Stephen. Our 206 guides and Vatican guide were beautiful people and provided the most outstanding service!! read more

I recently returned from our pilgrimage trip to Jordan, Israel and Oberammergau, Germany. Everything went terrific during our travel in Jordan, and the Holy Lands and while in Oberammergau, Germany to watch the live Passion Play. On our departure to return back to the United States we were staying for the night in Munich. As a requirement on returning to the U.S. a negative PCR test was needed and it turned out that there were few of us were positive. Worried of being stranded in Germany for several days we were constantly looking for ways of how to get out of Germany and to return to the U.S. Everyday we were being checked and monitored and Javier who was assigned to be our contact person, was always calling us to see if we needed anything as they ( 206tours) were trying to figure out how to get us out of the country. Finally, the time came when we have to fly to another European country to catch a flight to Toronto to connect another flight for Detroit from Buffalo, New York then Seattle. During that time of waiting, Milanka and Javier were very supportive and very efficient and have done a terrific job of arranging our flights for the 4 of us to return home ,however, they made it to make a flight reservation for the four of us, was absolutely amazing. In a short period of time they've sent us our flight itineraries and the next thing we knew, we were at the airport and had flown out on time without any struggle or issues. We just returned from our second pilgrimage with 206 Tours; this one to the holy saints and sites of France, Spain and Portugal. It was also our second tour with Vanessa as our guide. She is absolutely fantastic! We had 30 college students with us and Vanessa was the perfect blend of big sister, mother and friend. The kids adored her! We've used other companies in the past and will now only use 206 and Vanessa going forward. With the other companies, I felt like I had to look after them to make sure they didn't change things on us or remove visits at the last minute. I felt that way because both companies did that to our group. After submitting our itinerary for bidding and selecting them, the great service stopped and they provided the minimal accommodation's to meet our requirements. As soon as they had our business, they did the bare minimum. One company made changes without telling me after bidding and receiving our business. That's where 206 stands out. Their service is top notch from start to finish and if 206 had to make any changes, which happens with hotels and such, they have always upgraded us. 206 always exceeded our expectations and dealing with them has always been a pleasure. I can't say enough good things about them. When our last pilgrimage was cancelled due to COVID in the spring of 2020, 206 worked with us and made sure every pilgrim was totally satisfied with their individual outcomes. After cancelling again in 2021 and again in early 2022, 206 helped us make our May pilgrimage a reality as soon as COVID mandates lifted in Europe, even though it was only 6 weeks before travel. 206 crushed it. I couldn't imagine organizing a pilgrimage for 30 college students in that short of a time frame with any company other than 206. In addition to our two time guide Vanessa, we loved our bus driver Melchor Martin who was fantastic! He was a great driver and he took time to get to know our kids and interact with them. I returned recently from a pilgrimage to the Holy Land in Israel planned by 206 Tours and Deacon John hunt and Bishop Hennessy from Boston. It was my first time and it was an amazing experience. We stayed at the David Citadel in Jerusalem and it was a beautiful hotel with great food and service. We joined a tour group from Rockland, IL to do a pilgrimage tour to Poland and Czech Republic. We had a great tour guide throughout and wonderful itinerary. Hotel stays and meals were very good. Be ABSOLUTELY certain that you will be taking the tour; if you cancel, even 8 months out (and even for a very popular tour such as Scott Hahn's), you will be assessed the $300 per person penalty, so, $600 for my wife and me. And it will take "forever" to get any refund which you are due.
