Now,  wherever I'm…read moretraveling to I always check to see if they have a tour.  Luckily, I was able to join an available tour for the downtown area on a Sunday morning. The day was cold and dreary, but I still had an amazing time. The tour guide, Paul, was excellent. He kept the tour entertaining and educational. Paul seemed very passionate about the history and culture of Nashville. The tour lasted a little over an hour, and at the end, he gave us suggestions and directions based on our interests. I loved his honesty on places he thought we would or wouldn't enjoy based on our interests.  These tours are a great way to meet other travelers while enjoying the major attractions.  Of course, the tours aren't completely free because guides do accept gratuity, which they truly deserve.

We walked enough to get a bit of exercise but not to be tired, and we saw some great sites along the tour as it was 1 hour and 50 minutes for us and only one big hill. As a history teacher, I definitely picked up some interesting stories to bring back to class next year, and I learned some cool stats on Nashville and a bit of the behind the scenes on some of the country music stars of the area. It was really worth it. My husband does not love stuff like this, he'd rather grab a bite and do our own adventuring, but he was really pleased we did this as well. I would 100% recommend this tour to a first time visitor or a local looking to learn a bit more about the origins of the city. Keep up the good work, Ryan.

Great stories gleaned from Bill's career in music journalism, and his obvious love for Nashville. It's a little bittersweet to pass by spots like Printers Alley and have Bill show you pictures of how it looked before the current building boom, but then you also get to walk through spots like the short trip between the stage door of the Ryman and the back entrance of the Orchid Lounge, and feel like you're walkin' with the music legends!

We enjoyed ourselves so much and I'm so grateful we signed up - I honestly don't think we would have received the same experience of Nashville if we had just gone to these places on our own. We stopped off at 5 different eateries, all were pre-picked for us so we had no idea where we would be going. Unfortunately, not all of them struck me as worthy of a second visit but it was new to us (except for Prince's, we had stumbled upon them the day before, whoops) and I will say I'm not the biggest sweets fan but the Goo Goo cluster was the perfect way to end the tour! Lucky for us Experience Nashville Tours was scheduled to do one tour on Monday and we were able to confirm a spot on Sunday evening. We met our tour guide Kaysie along with a few other travelers and it was well spent couple hours. This lady is so high energy and enthusiastic that it really makes the tour a wonderful experience. You can tell she has a great passion for the artists and history of the town and she took us to several very interesting venues with lots of background stories. It was a fun couple hours and very affordable. I'd highly recommend booking a tour with Kaysie!
