This was totally worth it! Ryan really has a genuine interest in Nashville. He is knowledgeable and funny and appropriately hokey as an entertainer should be. We walked enough to get a bit of exercise but not to be tired, and we saw some great sites along the tour as it was 1 hour and 50 minutes for us and only one big hill. As a history teacher, I definitely picked up some interesting stories to bring back to class next year, and I learned some cool stats on Nashville and a bit of the behind the scenes on some of the country music stars of the area. It was really worth it. My husband does not love stuff like this, he'd rather grab a bite and do our own adventuring, but he was really pleased we did this as well. I would 100% recommend this tour to a first time visitor or a local looking to learn a bit more about the origins of the city. Keep up the good work, Ryan. read more

My husband and I absolutely loved the Nashville walking tour with Ryan. He was energetic and very inclusive. We brought our baby in his stroller and the tour was accommodating but also needed a little help going through some bars but otherwise fine! The better name for this tour is Really Not Entertaining, Really Only Regurgitates Travel Brochures, or Really Lacking Worthwhile Information. I love walking tours, wherever I have traveled to I have included a walking tour or bus tour. This is the one that I regret. We lived in Nashville for 20 years. When we have friends visiting we take them on a tour. After yesterday our guests remarked that the tour was a waste of time. So whether you know the city or a first timer you will find this tour lacking. If you do decide to give this a whirl be sure to walk directly behind the guide. He does not wait for everyone to arrive a the stopping point (really, you can't give us an extra three minutes to maneuver through the crowd?), talks as you are walking and you can't hear him through the crowd, ignores safety hazards, misses or just doesn't know key points of history, and really thinks his sense of humor will be loved by all. Nope, na da, wouldn't do this again, wish I could get my money back. read more

This was the best walking tour I've ever taken, signed up the morning of the walking tour and was able to join a group that afternoon. Ryan our tour guide was extremely energetic, not "ADD", but his enthusiasm was very contagious. He took a group of 15 of us on a 2 hour tour of Nashville, very entertaining way to learn about the history of Nashville. My wife and I tried to take this tour and it was VERY disappointed. I WOULD NOT recommend this provider. It was pouring down rain in Nashville the day of our tour and I called and texted to confirm that there was not a cancellation of the tour. We arrived 15 minutes before the tour to find construction at the meeting site and no place to park. We texted Ryan to ask about parking and that we couldn't see parking at the site; we parked 10 minutes before the start of the tour and walked to the site but he had already left. My wife kept calling and texting and we kept running to the next spot, but they were never there. Ryan told us to just stop and have lunch at a local spot. We wanted to take the tour and he would not help us. This is not like other Trip Advisor tours...I would recommend that Trip Advisor remove this person from their list. We ended up walking in the rain until we came to a location on the street called Old Town Trolley Tours. We purchased a tour that is filled with history and local color, drove on a bus to 15 stops where we could get off and rejoin the tour and give high marks to the tour guide Jeff from Murfreesboro TN for his command of so much great information. This tour also offers your money back if you are in any way unsatisfied. I would HIGHLY RECOMMEND this tour. Of all the things we did, all the things we saw while spending a weekend with friends in Nashville, the best part of the trip must've been the few hours we spent with Ryan from Really Entertaining Tours. His knowledge of the city as it pertains to drink, music, and entertainment were a cut above exceptional. Being a bit of a drinker and a music lover, Ryan had no problems keeping up with me both from a informative and drinking standpoint. My only complaint is that the tour ended way too soon. Ryan did an excellent job guiding us on a tour of downtown Nashville. He gave lots of information and history in a fun way with corny jokes and all! He is very knowledgeable and seems to take much pride in finding facts and even going above and beyond to research and seek answers to questions asked on past tours. I found out Woolworths used to have a diner! I grew up with Clifton's in downtown L.A., a historical diner and Woolworths was still around, but only the store part of it. Also now seeing Ryan the owner is disputing my friends review. A fantastic 1.5 hour walking tour to learn about the history of Nashville - its founding, its capital, its buildings both old and new, Andrew Jackson, women's suffrage, lunch counter sit-ins, the Ryman, Skull's, Printer Alley, and of course its music. Our guide today was Ryan. He was great! About what you'd expect with punchy humor and interactive jokes with tour-goers, but he kept it educational and clean. There were no children on our tour but if there were it would be fine for them, too, jokes wise. He did his best to bring us to air conditioned and shaded areas to protect against the sweltering heat. We walked about 3 miles and went a little over time (don't plan anything for about 30-60 min directly after your tour. You'll want to relax in the AC and refill your water.) I would NOT recommend this tour for kids or dogs if done in the summer months as it is quite long and strenuous, even for us 19 year olds that are in good shape, wearing appropriate clothing, and had lots of water with us. It also moves pretty quickly so you won't have much time to take photos or stop at restrooms, etc. You'll get the chance to see a bunch of places you wouldn't normally notice or step inside -- like a record shop, a few bars, and historical landmarks. The tour guides have a privilege of entering venues you might not otherwise unless you were eating there. It was awesome getting to know the city more intimately than just "Oh, cool, a bar." Nashville is actually PACKED with history! Definitely recommend this agency and Ryan. Absolutely worth every penny of the cheap $25/person price. read more

Ryan is a really great, enthusiastic guide in the Nashville area. We ended up taking the 90min historic tour and had a great time...even in the dead of August summer walking around was just fine for us. My husband and I appreciate a local "real" tour versus a manicured bus tour. This was our first time in the city and Ryan was able to provide loads of historic info on the important downtown area landmarks. Ryan squeezed us in on a tour despite the fact that it was a CRAZY weekend in Nashville--we had not realized the NCAA tournament was being played in part there that weekend. The tour is full of interesting history, which includes women and people of color, not something you always get on a basic walking tour, and both things that are of interested to me. We texted and called to ask where they were and walked to the site where they were supposed to be ( in the pouring rain) but they were not there. We called and texted again and were told to meet at another spot, where we went, but they were no longer there. We called and texted and tried to meet at the next two spots, again walking through the pouring rain, but even though we left straightaway, they were no longer there. We were told to just stop and have lunch at a local spot. I said that we really did want the tour and was told to find an undescript location ... "just ask anyone and they will tell you where it is ask". We stopped six passers by, in the pouring rain, and asked for this location and they said they did not know where it was at. It did not pull up in maps on the phone and he would not give us an address. He offered to give us a free tour the next day and I explained, again, that we were leaving town in the morning and had already paid for our tour. I asked for a refund and he never responded again!!!!! This is the not consistent with other Trip Advisor tours...I would recommend that Trip Advisor remove this person from their list. Went for a girl's weekend and this is the second time with Ryan and company. I would use him every time in Nashville! It's a great way for a group of women to safely bar hop! Ryan is always checking on everyone, making sure we have a cold drink in hand and altogether having a good time. Ryan is funny, easy going, and gives great Nashville music information. We went to bars we may not have normally visited and did things we may not have normally done...karaoke and riding a bull, just to name a few. He's encouraging but not overbearing.
