Plus, they had stellar 5 star reviews online. The wood was ordered and delivered within 2 days and a day was scheduled for the installation. After being quoted 2 days for installation by another flooring company, I was highly impressed this job would only take 4 - 5 hours for The Flooring Center to complete. On the day of the installation, the flooring team arrived within the quoted time slot and did a fabulous job with the installation. They literally came in and got to work! It was about 4 or 5 workers and they had an excellent team work system. One would stay outside to cut the wood, 2 were working on the floor, another was running back and forth, while another was cleaning up. They finished within the quoted time slot and were in and out in a flash! They literally arrived at 8:15am and were gone by 11:30am. I was EXTREMELY IMPRESSED! The clean-up went well and we were very pleased with the final product. If you're in the market for new flooring or carpet, I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this company. Plan was to completely tare down the interior of the existing 4 units building and to expand it up and out into a 6 units building with increased number of bedrooms and NEW EVERYTHING! The Project was started in 2019 but a whole year was lost due to a bad architect who did not do his job at all. But together we were able to push through and get the building permit from DCHA and started work in 2020. Unfortunately, soon after COVID hit and everything slowed down or completely stopped so another year was lost. By 2021, post COVID eara, prices were much higher than when we started. What I really liked about working with Sydney was that we discussed the situation and came up with a plan that was fair for both of us to get the project moving. He was open to listen when I was not happy with the situation and would correct it. Since, I live in Atlanta and the project was in DC I had an independent 3rd party company do inspection for me intermittently to make sure things were done appropriately and Sydney would get the report and would work on everything that I thought needed to be addressed. The project was long and difficult but Sydney 's honesty and integrity to stay true to his word made this project successful. As you can see the pictures posted on top, Sydney was able to finish the project beautifully and not too far from the original budget. I decided to have the work done while I was out of the country on vacation. Because I live in a townhome and there was very limited space to store the furniture, I rented a PODS moving and storage cube and had it parked in front of my home. Beers employees moved all of my furnishings out of the area to be refinished and into the storage cube. Safely locked up, they were then ready to tackle my floors. They completed the work while I was away. I wasn't inconvenienced by having to live in the house while it was undergoing these renovations. When the work was completed, they moved all of my furnishings back into my home and Voila! I returned to a home with floors that looked like brand new. A bonus was that I returned from a great vacation and didn't have to live through all of the construction. The thing I remember most about that first meeting was the personalized board they had up welcoming me and my spouse (Mr. and Mrs. D) - a really nice touch, albeit slightly incorrect as I was there with my husband, and when we went back to pick out selections they had updated it to be somewhat more accurate (The D. Family). Jim, the owner, was straightforward when we spoke with him and offered a competitive price compared to the other estimates we received. After we accepted the contract, Jim's sister and the company designer, Kim, was particularly patient with us as we spent upwards of two hours picking out the various components for the new bathroom, successfully finding solutions to mediate style disagreements between me and my husband. Overall, we were both very happy with our selections and excited for the new bathroom to be complete. The workers were excellent and displayed great professionalism during the remodel. The work began in early December, but was stalled a little bit due to the cabinet and vanity not arriving in time. The bathroom was functional, though not finished, before the desired Christmas date. It has been three weeks since the job completed and we have been satisfied so far with the bathroom. With the work, there were two (both immediately fixed) problems that stood out: First, the new toilet was installed slightly at an angle. We emailed Cardigan of the problem. When they came out the next time to continue working on the bathroom, the worker immediately saw the toilet was not level, apologized that he didn't catch it when he installed it, and made the toilet level to the floor. Second, when we started using the shower a week after installation, the shower was draining extremely slowly. Again, I emailed and called regarding this issue, and they fixed it that day despite Jim attending a funeral that morning. One of the workers came by that evening with a snake and fixed the problem. I was extremely impressed at their responsiveness. Overall, I am giving five stars due to the personalization, work quality, responsiveness, professionalism of the workers, and our happiness with the final result. When we finally move on to remodeling our kitchen in a few years, we will definitely be looking at Cardigan. I asked how can this be resolved and have heard nothing further from them. If you want a reliable and trustworthy company, I advise you to go elsewhere. This company only concern is to take your money and more on to the project.
