Hands down my favorite boutique EVER. Not only is it affordable clothes with better quality than…read moreyou can get anywhere else, but it also supports local women and sustainability. After shopping at Swap for 2-3 years instead of online or at the mall, I not only updated my wardrobe but could proudly say over 50% of my closet was not new to me. I'm not a fan of fast fashion and the damage it causes to the environment, but I also don't like to dress thrifty. Swap is the farthest thing from thrifty. The women working there have such a good eye for all different styles, and are so friendly and helpful. I always had a ton of luck finding things that not only fit but that I LOVE. Pro tip: look beyond your normal sizes! Go larger and smaller and you'll have more luck finding hidden gems.

I do not live in Louisiana but every city I go to I like to visit high end consignment shops. The greeting I received when I entered the store was very icey. When other ladies entered while I was in the store their greeting was totally different but of course they were not African American. My message to Swap is don't judge people by their skin color. Treat all customers the same. You just lost a big sale.

It was such a pleasure learning about their shops history and family. This place really seems to be a staple in the community. I have never been to a better second hand shop. Because it's consignment everything is thoughtfully curated and priced. They offer a variety of brand names and designers. I have been wanting to redo my closet for a while with more of a capsule nature and this was the most perfect and affordable place to do so. The rack you see in my picture below was everything I had shopped before I tried things on. I left with about 3/4 of this rack. Thank you so much Rene and Lisa I will be seeing you guys the next time I'm in town. Can't wait!!!

It has three areas: the left area…read moreseems to be the most expensive, the right area has the cheapest stuff, and the entry/middle area falling somewhere in between. I always stick to the cheap area on the right. So far I've bought a futon, a tall shelving unit with wicker sides, a ~5' tall bookcase, and a rice cooker. Most things have stickers with dates, the prices dropping as each date passes. If a date drop is close enough, they may go ahead and give it to you for that price, even if the date hasn't passed yet. I can't remember what I spent on the futon and shelving unit, but the bookcase was just a smidge under $9 and the rice cooker was $5. The workers are polite and helpful. They cleared off the bookshelf for me and loaded it into my vehicle. The store accepts cash and cards.
