I will never step foot in this office again!!!
On 7/25/19, I went into the office for crown prep for 4 teeth on my upper left side. I experienced a lot of gum pain and when I told Dr. R he suggested I do salt water rinses.
Over the next few days, I did the salt water rinses, but was still in a lot of pain. After awhile, my gums started peeling, I developed an abscess type sore, and was experiencing a lot of sinus pressure. I called the office on August 1 and I let them know and asked for an appointment. I was told that Dr. R had an accident earlier that week and he wasn't available. I expressed my concern for the abscess type sore and requested an antibiotic while I waited for an appointment. I was told they couldn't call it in without seeing me first and they suggested I call back the following week. The pain got progressively worse.
8/5/19- Dr. R returns to work and they schedule me for an appointment at 1pm. Shortly after 12pm, I get a call that he left and couldn't see me. That pissed me off. They still refused to call in an antibiotic and instead offered to give me a number to an Endodontist. At this point, I had had enough, so I told her I would figure it out myself and I hung up.
I then left an honest, professional review of my experience on their Facebook page. Within a few hours, I get a call from Tracy. She informed me that Dr. R saw my review, was very mad, and wanted to know what they could do to have me remove it. I told her I had no intentions of removing my honest review until after I see how they handle it from here. She apologized, called in an antibiotic for me and informed me that Dr. R called Dr. Beck to take his place over the next 2 days. She scheduled me for 9am appt on 8/7/19 with Dr. Beck.
8/7/19- The swelling in my face was instantly noticeable to the office manager. Upon Dr. Beck's evaluation, he determined the following: the spacing on the temporary was too tight and there was too much material in the temporary that irritated my gums and prevented me from flossing between those teeth, there was no need for a 4 piece bridge when I had no missing teeth and good bone structure, and my gums looked like "slaughtered hamburger meat." He explained that he would have to remove the temporary because "something had to be done, but doing so could cause trouble for us both." In the process of removing the temporary, it broke and he had to create a new one. A lab tech came in for pickups and he suggested that my permanent crowns needed to be 4 individuals. That would have to be approved by Dr. R the following week. Dr. Beck brought me a little relief so my gums could heal.
After dealing with all of this, I filed a complaint with my insurance, in order to get a refund on the incomplete work, so that I could finish my treatment elsewhere. I also got a third opinion from a well trusted doctor a few weeks after seeing Dr. Beck. He told me that my gums were still in bad shape and required a few more weeks of healing before anything could be done.
It's been nearly 2 months now and instead of doing what is right, Dr. R is fighting me on my refund and denying that I ever got a second opinion in his office. He has since deleted his Facebook page, which I imagine was solely based on my negative review, so here I am. read more
