I hired Joshua to fix a refrigerator at our rental property in Houston that I manage. As with most other repair companies, the diagnostics charge was able to be applied to the total repair. Joshua was able to get out to the rental property promptly. He came during our scheduled window and was able to diagnose the issue and give me an estimate on what the repair would cost. Before calling me, he called around to local parts places and was able to find the part we needed. When we spoke, he said he could come back that same evening to finish the job as our tenant was busy over the next week. Since the property was not my own, I had to clear charges with the owner before proceeding, but the owner did not approve because his home warranty company's co-pay rate was lower than what the repair would have cost. Unfortunately, I had to call Josh back and let him know. Although he was pretty upset, and understandably so, he returned to the rental property to put the fridge back in "working" order and was kind to put tenant. Prior to cancelling the repair, I found their price very fair and the speed of service above par (I have worked with several repair people in the past on my own house and I have never had anyone successfully get a part in the same day), so I can only speak on diagnosis, speed of service, and communication. The last invoice paid was $350+ in May and supposedly came with a warranty but it does absolutely no good if he has zero contact. We made a mistake in 2019 of buying an LG refrigerator at Best Buy. Our icemaker stopped working on multiple occasions, and this was the latest of those occasions. I tried to do some troubleshooting and it has worked a couple times but this last time nothing and that it was producing no ice whatsoever so I go online and try to find a couple places. The previous Yelp find, the guy came out and basically looked at it and said everything was fine. He did show me how to run diagnostic on it. I didn't know I could do that. It was a Bluetooth Device That is on the fridge that I was not aware of. But when I ran the test, it came back as everything on the fridge is working fine, but clearly it was not as it was not producing any ice. After another couple weeks of just buying bags of ice and manually putting them in the icemaker, so I can at least use my door ice machine I decided to call someone else and I called Kevin. He came out and took a look at it move the arm back-and-forth so I'll get you a quote and he called me back the next day and quoted me around $400. That that sounded not too bad of a price considering it was mostly the price of the parts however $400 on a $1500 refrigerator. that we are not gonna keep a long time didn't sound like the right investment to make so we did not go forward with the repairs. However, when Kevin was here and he was moving back the arm back-and-forth, all I can say is he has what I would call the repair man's Midas touch. That moving the arm back-and-forth doing a very basic diagnosis and tell them you don't buy LG fridge again, and now my icemaker is producing ice as it should be, also it should be noted Kevin did not charge me any fee. When I did a Yelp search it did say $60 diagnosis fee but I could not get a hold of him again to pay him the $60, so Kevin if you're out there and you see this holler back at me. I would absolutely call Kevin again, he had a quick response, and there was absolutely zero pressure to do anything that we did not want to do. He told me he works in the Houston area so if you're close to Houston. you should consider giving him a call for your repair needs.
