And forget checking in early (even if you have been traveling for 18 +hours. They stick by the 4pm check-in. *Please note we tried to book (pay for) the additional evening even though we wouldn't arrive until 11am the next day - but to no avail. We were exhausted, so we ended up sitting in their lobby (*sometimes you just can't find the energy to tour the city while waiting for check-in). They gave us a room about an hour early, but it was one of the worst ones possible (guess they didn't like us sitting there with our luggage?!) Room 329 is an inside room - NEXT to the glass elevator, so if your curtains are open EVERYONE in the elevator has a crystal clear view of you! They are less than 3ft away! Hard to be positive about our 3-night stay when it was in one of their worst rooms. I would make sure I was higher up and perhaps a city view...

Some days, we had a Full English, sometimes an egg sandwich. A bagel, a pastry, a peanut butter and jelly or a ham sandwich! There was no shortage of options and we didn't get bored like you might with a cheesy continental breakfast of dry cereal and carby breads. We did manage to eat dinner a couple times at our hotel. My companion was particularly enamored with the bruschetta. I tried the chicken schnitzel and it was the bomb! Thin crispy chicken, cooked to a lemony perfection, accompanied by buttery mashed potatoes, and a yummy salad. I'm going to try to make that at home. Above all, the bartender, who worked on many nights of our stay, was the highlight of our trip. We amused him with our poor Czech phrasebook dialogues and he entertained us immensely with tasty alcoholic concoctions from the bar menu. If you are going to Prague, you won't find a better location, service, and fun than the Archibald! Every morning, I opened my pretty window that overlooked the picture-book perfect cobblestoned street and said, "Good morning, Prague!" You simply must go!

We were here in winter so some of the flowers were out of season but it was still beautiful so I can only imagine what it's like in summer. There's a tapas restaurant attached to the hotel but we didn't eat there. It was always busy which is a good sign and very handy if you just wanted to take it easy for a night. Finally, they have a taxi service that collects you from the airport for a really reasonable price. The driver is really friendly (as are all the staff, to be fair) and it's so handy knowing your transport is sorted for you. I would definitely recommend this place, it's not the nicest place I've ever stayed it but it's great value, ideally located and really pretty!
