This is not the case if you were using Fedex down the street. The Fedex process is much easier. Walk-in and hand them the box and show them the QR code on your phone in which they will scan and you're on your way. Maybe it's because UPS stores are third-party. I'm not really sure but at UPS you will have to email them and they will charge you a fee to do so. It seems like with the technology that exists. It would just be easier for UPS to simply add it into their original cost of shipping instead of the two inconveniences of one having to pay more and then having to send an email when a scan should be sufficient. If their competitors can do it, they should be able to.
