I had a really bad experience here today and won't be returning. My partner was asked for ID when trying to buy beer, which is fine. But when I went inside right after, the person in front of me was not asked for ID at all. When I pointed this out, the cashier said he had been there earlier--but if you're going to card people, it should be consistent across the board. The situation escalated unnecessarily when another customer started making disrespectful comments toward me, and instead of stepping in, the cashier argued back and forth with me. The whole experience felt very unprofessional and uncomfortable. Whether it was poor policy enforcement or something else, it didn't sit right. At the very least, staff should know how to handle situations respectfully and consistently. Definitely won't be coming back. read more

My go to, local liquor store. Always well stocked and the lowest prices. The employees are quick and mostly friendly. They even have a drive through which is super convenient and pretty quick considering the line is sometimes long. They are usually pretty busy and sometimes parking can get tough but honestly there isn't much that can be done due to the location. read more

Customer for years, never again I've been shopping at 177 Liquors every time I visit the Pasadena area for the last few years. The location is convenient to where I stay, the selection is great and the service has been great, until today. I'm 24 years old. I'm from out of state, therefor I have an out of state ID. The picture on my I.D. is slightly worn, as all licenses get from sitting in a wallet up against the clear plastic I.D. slot. I've been meaning to order a replacement but haven't gotten around to it. I tried to make a purchase this evening, July 13, 2018. The cashier was incredibly rude from the start of the interaction. When she asked for my I.D. I happily gave it to her. She quickly accused me of having a fake I.D. because of the slightly worn picture. I apologized for the blurry picture and assured her that it was real and that I had made three purchases from their store within the last few weeks, and that I probably even had a receipt in my car. She very rudely exclaimed "That doesn't matter, they shouldn't have sold you anything because this is a fake." I apologized again, very respectfully. I told her I wasn't worried about making the purchase, that I simply wanted to leave with my I.D. and be on my way. She informed me that I was not getting it back, and that it's state law to confiscate a "fake I.D.". I respectfully tried to reason with her, explaining that I'm eight hours from my hometown and really need to have a valid driver's license to drive. She (again, quite rudely) said "Well, if you really want we can call the cops and have them verify it.". She was SO incredibly condescending in her tone that I thought she was taunting me, trying to scare me with the threat of police, like I was a 16 year old with a fake I.D., and would run scared at the mention of police. I politely told her that it would be fine to have an officer verify it, that I simply needed to have a valid license to drive. The other cashier working looked over at me and said.. "Yea, we don't buy that fake China shit here". I was in such disbelief at the words I had just heard. Her tone, the look on her face.. it was absolutely horrible. I've never, ever been treated with such disrespect in my entire life.. and I've spent 7 years in customer service... These two people should NOT have jobs where they have to deal with people if that's how they're going to treat people. Rude, disrespectful, accusatory, nasty sounding, hateful people. I'm an honest person, who just wanted to pickup some beer and whiskey for a get together this weekend. I will NEVER, ever visit this location again. By far the WORST experience I've had in a store or customer service environment of any kind. Whether or not it's legal to confiscate an I.D. is basically irrelevant.. no one deserves to be treated the way I was treated. I did end up getting it back after speaking with the manager and because they were "unable to get in touch with the police" *rolls eyes* they gave it back to me. Stay. Away. read more

I've had mostly good experiences at 177 since moving to the Pasadena area in 2015. Their whiskey selection is decent. I was able to pick up a bottle of Kentucky Owl and a few others that are a little more rare and can be harder to find. They also sell Buffalo Trace. Their drive through can be very convenient as well. The customer service is hit or miss. For the most part they're friendly but there's been one or two times an employee is either having a bad night or just generally has a bad attitude. Fine, I admit it! I have a soft spot for drive thru liquor stores! Are you happy now?! I am! There is a wide variety of liquor, beer and wine here. The store can be cramped at check out but aside from that it's great. Lots of miniature bottles to choose from too. I always like those (they make me feel taller). The best part, like I stated earlier, is that they have a drive thru. What's not to love. I'm lazy and tired and clearly stressed. Great selection and solid prices. Largest liquor store I've ever seen and found liquor at cheaper prices than I would in Virginia. Tried to go here tonight ith a bunch of friends. They filled a motor coach. Parking lot as big enough but employees more concerned with closing up shop exactly on time rather than waiting a few minutes longer to make about 20 customers happy (and make about $600 in unexpected sails. Who doesn't Love 177 Liq Store!! Best Liquor store on Mountain Rd. Hands down! Friendly and Helpful they always have what me and Hubby need!! I was there one time Beer guy delivering and it was a new lemon Beer and he said today your lucky day you get free 6 pack! It wasn't too bad since I like Lemon! It was bottles too! How cool was that!! But I have to say wouldn't pay 12.99 a Six Pack wasn't that good!! Lol lol but we still get cases of Michelob Lite there! And anymore that's a hard beer to find cause most people drink Mich Ultra! Taste like water!! Lol Michelob Lite been around forever and that's all hubby drinks! But not too many liquor stores carrying it anymore not sure Why? But thanks to 177 they have everything! Yeah it gets me Pabst Blue Ribbon been around for years too and liquor stores still sell that! And that was always a cheap beer I remember my grandad drank it cause it was cheap!! Lol and Mich Lite use to be a expensive beer and they quitting selling it! I guess all those Craft beers taking over! At crazy prices for a 6 pack like $14 $15 dollars!! We just like a good standard beer that's COLD and goes good with Crabs! Its ok. Its got drive thru and its huge. Prices seemed a little high. Large selection of liquor and wines. Beer does not deviate much from the Bud, Miller, and Coors beers or their derivatives. The craft beer selection is lacking, and unfortunately for me this is the spot I head to when I enter a beer or liquor store. Step it up 177 liquors. read more

I really like this place. The staff is very friendly and the prices are pretty average. It has a good selection of wine and liquor, a little lacking on the beer selection...but i dont drink much beer. The drive thru is very convenient.. its not always open though. This is my go to liquor store. Mostly just due to the convenient location, selection, and friendly staff. read more
