    Lots of toppings!
    Mike M.

This is a cool spot for frozen yogurt. It's a unique concept, where they have self serve / soft serve frozen yogurt dispensers (handles!) with multiple creative flavors, then you add any toppings you want. Throw topping selection is off the charts. But unlike most dessert shops that charge one fee, 16 Handles charges by weight, so the more frozen yogurt and toppings you choose, the more you pay. The flavor and topping selections are great, and there's something for everyone. Just be advised it's not exactly cheap. We ordered for three and it was over $30. I guess my kids really loaded up on the toppings! But it's a fun concept, great stuff, and right in the middle of Rutgers' campus. They did have some seating inside and outside. We visited after college let out for the summer, so there were no lines or crowds, and free parking was available on the street. I'm not sure if that's an issue during that school year. I definitely recommend checking this out if you're up for some self serve / soft serve frozen yogurt!

arrived right before closing and a nice young man named Phani went out of his way to give me caramel after he already put it away, top tier customer service.

Located in Rutgers New Brunswick on Livingston campus, and centered near the Livingston Plaza bus stop, this store is super convenient for all college students with a craving! The store has limited seating in general - theres pretty minimal countertop seating, but it does have a good amount of smaller stools you can move around to accomodate for larger groups. Grab some sample cups near the toppings and try as many flavors as you want! They used to have certain promotions like half off froyo during certain hours in the afternoon, but I havent seen that as frequently anymore. The 3oz free promotion across all 16 handles today for National Froyo Day was super awesome! Current favorite flavors: Sweet Taro and Mango!!

So this place is a frozen yogurt joint in Livingston apartment B at Rutgers. They have as the name suggest 16 different types of yogurt available when all the machines are operational. They have some fun flavors and some strange ones too, i wish they had the sample cups out so you could taste them although with the clientele i could see why you would just want them out. I've had some good ones I've come back for and some other flavors that i was good after my first serving. The biggest negative about this place is the price. Its fairly pricey for frozen yogurt. I think the going rate is between .39 and .44 cents per. and l think they charge about .56 cents an ounce. Which doesn't sound like much but when people get serving of 10+ ounces its an extra dollar or two per visit.

Love this chain! I was here a few times last summer and this summer and enjoyed their froyo. I dig how they have non traditional flavors such as cold brew coffee, Matcha, taro pie, cotton candy, and euro tart. Like other froyo places, they have additional fresh toppings such as cookie dough bits, mini chocolate pretzels, sprinkles, Kit Kat, popping boba, syrups and fresh fruit. They charge by the pound and seems a bit pricier than other places, but still very worth it for the variety of FroYo flavors and toppings offered. The froyo is very refreshing and isn't watery. Located inside the Rutgers Livingston campus, the space is cool inside temperature wise and very clean. Only negative is I wish I lived closer.

One of the best hang out spots on Livingston Campus! It's a very nice place and well equipped to hang out with your friends! The froyo place is very new, clean, spacious, and relaxing -it has a very comfortable lounge area and it's set up to fit moderately big groups of friends (4-6). Besides the environment, it has a great selection of froyo flavors and a lot of toppings! It's impossible to not find something that doesn't satisfy your tummy! More importantly, it's located at a wonderful spot by the livi apts and right across from the livi plaza bus stop. Also, there is street parking right in front of the froyo! So convenient!

Just something to cure my sickness with.

I love coming here for froyo whenever I'm on Livingston campus and craving some fruity flavors! I don't come here often so whenever I'm here there are always different flavors so it's a new adventure every time! The place is clean and relaxing. It's a perfect spot to hang out with friends or even study. It's what you make it to be. It's located underneath Livingston B apartments and close to the Livingston plaza bus stop. There's parking nearby as well.

This 16 Handles is mostly populated by college students since it's on Rutgers Livingston campus, but it's still a decent place to stop. There's 30 minute parking on the street for non-Rutgers permits. I tried several flavors before settling on the cookie dough and the taro. They had a good cookies and cream flavor as well. There was a beautiful array of toppings and they were well kept.

I'm here to visit my boyfriend and I ate here 3 days in a row... I just couldn't stop. Every flavor is so addicting and delicious. The Euro Tart, Nutella, Salted caramel, Taro and green tea were my favorites. It's just so good. Worth every penny. (It's a little pricey by the way)

If you have the craving of having cold ice cream/yogurt late night, then this is the place to go. We went there at around 11pm and found this place lively. I tried the strawberry cheesecake, watermelon sorbet and Nutella plus some amazing toppings. Mango jelly filled with mango juice was the best. They bill you based on the weight. You can make your own dessert. Loved this place, will surely visit again.

So happy there are vegan options and 50% off after 5pm! The staff are friendly and the location is great- eighth at Livingston campus. The mango is my favorite. Will go back whenever I'm craving frozen treats!

Pomegranate raspberry, passionfruit tart, and my personal favorite - Euro tart.
    Riyanka R.

This is my favorite fro yo place ever. They have a wide variety of fro yo to choose from and so many toppings. I'm a huge fan of the tart flavor, and I think theirs is the best around. They are also open pretty late compared to other places to satisfy your late night sweet cravings!

The rich, creamy texture combined with the robust flavor of rum and the sweet, chewy raisins created a delightful symphony of taste and texture. My companion opted for a strawberry ice cream shake. While it was well-prepared, the flavor didn't quite resonate with me, as strawberry isn't my preferred choice. However, for those who enjoy a classic strawberry shake, it would likely be a satisfying option. I am eager to return for another serving of the Rum & Raisin ice cream. Next time, I plan to enhance the experience by adding a sprinkle of walnuts or hazelnuts, introducing a delightful crunch that would complement the smooth, rich base. Great service and they have few outdoor benches as well to enjoy your ice cream.

Best soft serve I have ever had!!!…read more Honestly... I can't say enough good things about this place. To say I was pleasantly surprised I'd an understatement. I got a soft serve swirl with cookie dough bites and it was delicious. The ice cream is perfectly creamy, and the vanilla had an almost marshmallow-y taste to it. It also sort of reminded me of the cream inside an Oreo. Perfectly balanced between creamy and cold- it didn't taste watered down or too "Icy". My mom and my 16 month old also agreed. (Ok, my mom agreed. My son was a fan but he doesn't quite understand just how good it was yet.) My son didn't finish his, so we brought it back with us to upstate NY. Yes, it was good enough to save in the freezer at our hotel and then to shlep back home so I could enjoy one more time. And also so my husband could try it since I couldn't stop raving about it. Also worth noting- I'm very impressed at their variety. They have lots of soft serve and hard ice cream flavors. I hope I have another work trip that brings me back, cause I will be dreaming of this ice cream until then!

They have many options to choose from that are ready to go and will most likely find something for everyone. I have been going to this bakery since I was a teen and I can positively say that the service is always top notch. The way the cake gets decorated is very satisfying. I can recall the bakery being so busy I would have to wait at least 5-10 minutes before getting service but these days with other great options, the business at this bakery has unfortunately gone down. This has lead them to have less baked goods out and it makes the bakery look a bit empty. Nevertheless, you are likely to find what you're looking for. I hope to see this bakery stay in business for long time, as I have seen many other inde shut down in the recent years. This will remain my go to bakery, specifically when I need a cake in a pinch.

I haven't tried too many cakes in the area so I can't truly compare to give it a full 5 star rating BUT the comments I hear a lot of is they use fresh fruit in their cakes. I usually get birthday cakes from Asian bakeries where fresh fruit is expected so that was an interesting comment to make from my POV. The fruit birthday cakes I've had from here are pretty good. Not too sweet and the most interesting fruit fillings I've had in cake - banana! Among other fruits. The cake isn't as light/airy as I'm used to but not bad at all. The buttercream is on the sweeter side for me but okay if you eat it with the cake and don't leave it until the end. It's not a terribly thick layer. But the cakes were super colorful and it's a lot of food coloring with how saturated the colors are. Your mouth and tongue will be stained if you're not careful. Having said that, I ordered an Oreo cake because that's why my kid wants. BUT I did request that instead of buttercream on the outside, it'll be whipped cream. Still buttercream on the inside though. I'll update this review after the party as it hasn't happened yet. This is a shop that sort of takes you back when you walk in. It's located in a corner shopping center of sorts and they have a shared parking lot so no need to hunt for parking. It has a nostalgic feel with display cases along much of the length, refrigerated sections for drinks (some were Asian which surprised me) and ice cream cake. Plus a wall of candles and birthday cake decorations because they do take a lot of orders for special occasions. No extra frills and nothing for decor's sake. There was a steady line when I went on Sunday morning. Two doors, one designed to be the entrance and the other the exit (but there isn't a police so use whichever door, but the line starts at the entrance door). As you walk up to the counter, someone will help you out. They've got all sorts of things from pastries to cookies, cakes, cupcakes, cannoli's, pies... even a tres leches section that was woefully empty. The only thing is for some odd reason, there are signs of what the items were, but absolutely no prices were posted in the display cases. At least none that I was aware of. I was passed onto the manager to take my order. It took a little time because I'm pretty sure she also decorates cakes and some people were waiting on them but I eventually got my order in. A 9" Oreo cake (for up to 16 people) with whipped cream exterior and birthday message is about $75. I added on a tres leches on a whim - they sold out early but a new batch just finished so I got one straight from the kitchen - was roughly $10. Receipts are old school, orders taken on a paper pad with a carbon copy given to you. I've had a number of tres leches cakes before and this is one of a kind! Deliciously moist, whipped topping - and the cake is halved. In between, they put fruit in there! Plus a maraschino cherry on top and cinnamon dusted over it. It was nowhere near "too sweet" and I rather enjoyed it. A lot. In fact, I'm thinking of calling in to see if I can get some for the party for the adults. My picky daughter loved it. Overall, I have a pretty good impression of this bakery and I'm looking to trying more items over time.

I tried one topped with a wasabi/ginger foam (wish I remembered the name!) and the Hazy Tea cocktail that comes in a kettle -- both were fantastic. My wife ordered the Lavender Martini and loved it so much she got it twice. Now the food... amazing. We ordered the paneer dumplings, and I genuinely could have ordered them three more times.
