The only detail that could have made the visit richer was if the mascot had walked by. The blow up Buc-cees decoration was festive at the front entrance. The famous bathroom was spotless. Hubby enjoyed a brisket sandwich. I still adore the banana pudding. The holiday items are out in full force. It would be fun to sit in on the branding sessions. My favorite item purchased is the waterproof phone pouch (with snaps- not the pesty plastic top with tabs). There are lots of new items since my last visit. It looks like Homegoods, Nordstrom, Bass Pro Shop, It's Sugar, Pottery Barn, Dollywood & Crate and Barrel had a shopping summit.

Knew that we were going to stop at Buc-ee's, bc of course. They have a basket of bananas, and I picked a pristine one if not *slightly* green at the neck. Check out. $0.55. We walked 45 feet out the adjacent exit and ate the banana right outside the slider door so I didn't have to have an empty banana peel stuffed somewhere in the car for the next several hours. It was black to the core on the inside halfway down the banana, like the kind of black you don't keep eating, not just a surface bruise. Since it was clearly bad and it was ONE MINUTE after I bought the banana, I figured they'd be like - no problem, we'll make it right, it's a $0.55 banana. So we walked right back to the same cashier who had sold us that single banana one minute prior and showed him the black banana and asked if I could just get a replacement banana and he said it was too late. One minute, black banana, same guy. $0.55! So yeah, that's absolutely nuts. Do better, Buc-ees. That's really messed up. I was really looking forward to a banana.

No, Sheetz isn't on the Get Upside program but this was still the cheapest gas in the area even without a rebate. As with all Sheetz, the gas pump area is clean and well covered from the elements. No trash to be seen and plenty of room for bigger vehicles. Easy turns to get onto US-11 which parallels I-81 closely here. The receipt printer did not work but I opted not to go inside today. This review is a year-in-the-making, but as I was coming back towards the northeast on I-81 I saw a sight for sore eyes -- a NEW Buc-ee's located in Mt. Crawford, VA! Mind you, it was opening week and this is the most northern location on the East Coast -- so you know it was packed! Regardless of the number of people, nothing -- not food, nor clothes , nor supplies -- was ever lacking! Everything was being bought out, and at the same time being replenished. Service was amazing, and their new Chicken and Fries were amazing! You need to get it with their dipping sauces, though. Buc-ee's was beautifully decorated for the grand opening, and traffic was flowing in and out easily. I'm sooooo happy that there is a Buc-ee's located on the 81 corridor, this is going to be one of my favorite stops on my trips! Gotta visit the BEAVER!

Whether you're looking for food, souvenirs or even getting gas for your car and going in the restrooms. Lots of option and can kill time here. The store was very clean and well-organized with different sections for everything. Merchandise neatly stacked, displayed, and folded. Food labeled with ingredients - noted I did pick up a fried chicken sandwich (seemed popular) and I will note in the display picture I saw a sauce on it that I pointed out to my partner as I wasn't sure what it was (he thought it was mayo/ I thought cheese and it ended up being a sauce) There wasn't a label on the display from what it was that I could see. It may have been my poor eyesight and will note they DID list all the packaging ingredients on the wrapper for food allergy in a big paragraph. But if you're a picky eater like me and want a brief restaurant-style menu item recap, I would be prepared to ask an employee. Fresh food was neatly packaged and hot food was hot. Beverage/ coffee areas were tidy and labeled. Buc-ee's is known for its bathrooms(according to Wikipedia), and this location definitely lived up to that culture. Lots of stalls and stocked bathroom areas. Parking was plentiful, with clear traffic signals and directions. Shopping carts were stored near the front doors if you wanted to grab one. I don't think I saw any places outside to return the cart so looked like you would have to keep it inside or wheel back to store if you wanted to drop off items to car. Areas for pets to take a break and smoker area were marked and looked well maintained. Despite the store being quite busy when we visited, the employees were friendly and mindful. Staff members were courteous and never seemed to be rushing or shoving past/around customers while in a hurry to complete their tasks. Some of staff were wheeling around things like carts full of products/ holding boxes, and I never felt like I would get bumped into by them. We had a positive experience asking for food samples and ordering items from behind the counter. We checked out at two different entrances as we made two trips. During checkout, I asked one employee even about the chanting and they took the time to enthusiastically explain what the chefs were chanting and shared a bit about the company culture, which explained yelling for fresh-goods. The only minor issue I encountered was when purchasing glassware. The cashier initially tried to place a Shotglass in a plastic bag with several other regular normal items, and I had to ask for additional wrapping to help protect it. He then wrapped it in an extra plastic bag. Would've been nice to have paper or something at the register to wrap it safely. Without the extra padding, it likely would have broken during the drive home. It's also a hazard if it's dropped in the parking lot, gas station areas or honestly anywhere on the premises. So that's why I'm giving 4 stars today. Otherwise, they very charming and smiling - great customer service at the very front entrance to come in. Overall, we had a very good experience and want to stop again at this gas station during our road trips if we are in area.

Not being from the area I leaned into knowing Sheetz were in the area. Getting here was a trip. The street grid around this location had me double guessing whether I was going to the right area. Once I did get myself to the lot I parked and ran inside. Ran to the facilities and found some sweet relief. Once finished in there I came out into the store area and then decided I should grab something eat. I tapped on the screen and got myself a quick breakfast. Paid and just waited for my food to be prepared. Not being in a rush I opted to eat in house which is rare for me in a Sheetz. I moved into the dining area and was the only one in there for the duration of my meal. I'm impressed with the setup in here as they took the customer experience into account. Each seating area had access to an outlet that included USB charging ports. Napkin dispensers within reach of everyone. Television on a channel to give some background noise for the dining area. The food was exactly what I needed for a breakfast. The fried things were a bit too greasy, but I knew that was going to happen. The breakfast sandwich was a usual go to for me at a Sheetz. While I ate more food I did some people watching from the window seat I had. Sheetz draws some crazy characters. Once I was done, threw my trash away and back outside I went. Leaving the lot was as crazy as the street grid. Traffic light was located right at the one entrance to the lot which made it a bit hard to form a line of any kind for vehicles exiting.

The crisscrossing continued throughout the day and I had seen this location on my way to another stop. I made a mental note to come back here on my way out. Not just with vehicular traffic, but with foot traffic and bikes. There were a few out front while people were rummaging inside and dining. I made my way in and headed for the facilities. With the amount of customers here, it can take some time to get out of your spot. Not only that, it may take some time to get on the road in the direction you need to go. This is a very busy intersection and you do need to be careful when exiting.
