What they don't clearly explain, however, are the extremely high interest rates and the way payments are applied. For example, if you have a five-year loan and decide to pay an extra $5,000, that payment does not go directly toward the principal. Instead, it is applied to future monthly payments. This is because they charge interest daily on the loan balance, meaning you continue to accrue interest every day--even if you have already paid that month's payment. Their interest rates are extremely high, and the overall cost ends up being excessive. I'm relieved that I was able to pay off my loans, but the amount I paid in interest was unreasonable. I would strongly recommend avoiding doing business with this company.

Unfortunately, Patelco has one of those dumb ATM interfaces that returns your card after each transaction, rather than simply asking whether you'd like to complete another transaction. I don't remember whether you can refuse a receipt (which I normally do), but I'm thinking you might not have that option. The other thing that annoyed me was that only $20 bills were available. This might be a temporary thing; they might have been out of fives or tens or whatever the other option(s) is/are. But it's 2026. Shouldn't all ATM dispense hundreds, fifties, twenties, tens, and fives? I know some even always give you your last $20 as a ten, a five, and five ones. It's located near Serramonte Center and is across the street from Gellert Marketplace, both of which are convenient to the freeway, so it has location, location, location. It's parking lot is pretty awful, though. It has way too many speed bumps and a deceptively steep incline.

Kelsey was cordial, patient, with superb listening skill.
