We had read many reviews indicating Phil as a great and patient teacher so we choose him and had to wait a little extra to start the lessons because he was booked a little farther in advance. The whole process is fairly hands off as the parent which is a nice break. The office takes your info and payment, the instructor is given your address and comes and picks your kid up for the lessons. I wasn't home for any lessons due to work but my wife was and our teen would be swooped you, perform his driving and came back a couple hours later. I guess the only thing I could have wanted was a little feedback each time on how he was doing. Also, due to Covid, the teen got 4 lessons in and then had to wait two months to complete the last 2 lessons. We had moved in that time period and Phil didn't miss a beat. He came out and took the teen for his lessons, with a mask for both this time. The teen even said he got to go through the drive thru to pick up some food because he was hungry. He thought that was great! Phil came to the door a gave a brief update on the last lesson and all seemed well. If I recall, the total for the six 2 hour lessons was between $500-600, which is a good chunk of change. However, the teen seemed confident in his skills, it saved us the major stress of dealing with his initially scary driving, and it was so easy to get the lessons started and taken care of, that I find it was well worth the money!

The website has no form of instant feedback if you have a problem or if there is a glitch on either your side of the websites. You are forced to call a number direct (I believe it is just the owners personal number). He may take up to 24 hours to call you back and then refuses to fix the problem medianly. He also referred to me as honey as well as other informal and borderline condescending names. You would be better off to take Drivers Education with another business. Due to a glitch and their lack response my child had to reschedule their drivers test.

She explained the process to me and even found ways for me to save money if I was willing to take a few steps on my own ahead of time. The training facility is in Carson City. I attended the school for three days a week, (Tuesday, Thursday, Fridays,) and was able to complete my 100 to 120 hours in a little over a month. it was very helpful that I could make a custom training schedule to suit my Individual needs since I worked on the other weekdays while attending this program. I thought the instructors were very knowledgeable, easy-going, and willing to help each individual out to make sure you were gaining the necessary skills required for getting a CDL. I'm happy to say I am now a legal Class A Nevada license holder even had a job before I finished the program. I was also able to obtain my hazmat, doubles and triples, and tank endorsements through the DMV. So when I took my final test, I was ready to go out and work with as much eligibility as possible. I would also like to add that during the job search the 160 driving academy is very well-known and looked favorably upon from your new potential employers. I had the misfortune of going through his program in 2024 and it was the worst experience ever. He doesn't teach you anything of importance, rather reads off the book for hours on end and shows you straight up gore, which I understand to scare young drivers to be safe and cautious, but I fear the message was lost. He would throw fits over every little thing, harass students and call police on them over minor things. God forbid you doodle (which for some reason he hates), or you glance at your phone, but he would have his loud ringtone "TNT" blaring every five seconds, and now I literally feel dread and misery anytime I hear that song now. If you love your kid, you won't put them through this. I'm pretty sure he's banned from teaching in my town because of his crazy freak out during my class where he screamed at us, and made students so afraid and upset they called their parents and who came in to sit in, along with the owner of the building to make sure he wasn't still being crazy. The staff is amazing and the resources they offer the students seems endless. They provide tons of correspondence with parents so you don't feel out of the loop, while also encouraging students to be independent. There are many positives, and only a few negatives. You have to be willing and able to get your kids to and from school if they don't drive. No school buses going up there! Also, although you don't pay for the tuition, you still have to cover the cost of text books and course codes. However, there are scholarships and other assistance that is available. All in all, great program!

And when I went to try to talk to somebody, they refuse to talk to me they only wanted to text. This seems extremely fishy. I did talk with Diane about a week and a half before this on a different matter and she was helpful but after that, nobody wanted to really help and they refused to call me. I also went to their business address listed, and it is an empty building with no office and no signage. If I get a call back and this gets fixed satisfactory, I will upgrade this review to reflect their resolution. It is not about the $25 extra. It's about the principal.
