She does not want any parental involvement and has a sign in the studio to this effect. She is often rude, unprofessional, biased and does not follow her own rules with regard to student behavior. She violates her own contracts and has been known to play favorites with families when it suits her needs. Perhaps the most troubling is that she is unable to accept critism of any kind and has been known to tell parents who object to "take their money elsewhere". There is a relatively high staff turnover. I have personally seen the owner make students cry and single them out for non dance related issues. After seven years, our relationship was terminated via email. The terms of our contract we're not honored and the owner refused to meet. Please, do your child a favor and skip the negative drama that this studio is filled with. You will be happy you did.

Then we heard about ZPAC. Best parenting decision ever made to enroll her here. Stacy Zawadzki-Janusz has encouraged, challenged, and pushed justice to be her very best self and beyond. She pushes accountability and self esteem. When Justice thinks she can't do something, Stacy says yes you can. Her 2 teachers that also work there have done the same. They have been encouraging and sometimes strict when needed. They have been sounding boards when she is having a hard time. I can not thank them enough for everything they have done for my daughter. They treat us like family and that studio has become like a second home for my girl. I love them all dearly and am so proud to be part of the ZPAC-Stacy Zawadzki's Performing Arts Center family. Thank you Stacy and Marcia and Lena for all the hard work you put into shaping these young ladies into young women. I am forever grateful.

Possibly the worst place to send your child for a dance education. I danced here for 3 and a half…read moreyears, and took every available class and I got nothing good out of it. What I did learn from the classes was: incorrect posture, wrong positions of the feet, wrong arms, the wrong way to turn and how to use the wrong muscles. For about 20-30 in the beginning of class we would all sit on the floor and gossip about other people, talk about the latest fashion trends and movies and one time while my class was sitting on the floor talking about nonsense I got up and used the barre to stretch my legs and after 5 minutes of me stretching the owner Miss Chris said "okay girls we have to stop talking now because Ashley wants to dance and she looks like she's getting mad" I was mad. I had no friends at this studio and they took my parents thousands of dollars and I got absolutely nothing put of it. This studio is over priced by the way, they want about $50 per month for a one hour class once a week and that rate DOES NOT go down for the more classes you take. They want $75 per class for a costume which at most places charge $50-$60 at most which only costs them about $40- or less. They use cheap costumes and pocket your money. The owner Miss Chris and her husband are very rude. Her husband parks his blue mustang in the front parking spot right by the door, which I think should be reserved for paying customers. Miss Chris has said very nasty things to me which stick in my head till this day. During my time at METTS we went to one competition. I asked if I could compete my ballet solo and she looked at me straight in the face and said "don't expect to win" I ended up in 3rd place for my ballet division which I was very pleased with seeing how I basically used YouTube to teach myself ballet. Another time I asked her since she doesn't really offer ballet if there were any places she recommended me to go. Her response was "you're not good enough to take ballet anywhere else, those girls have been doing ballet since they were young, you won't fit in any where else" then I wanted to start pointe work and miss Chris said to me " do you really want to ruin your feet?" I guess because there was me and two other young girls in one ballet class, the only one ballet class the whole studio offers, she and the ballet teacher Shannon are not qualified to teach. While I was in this ballet class In my last year at metts, I purposely sickled my foot and wanted to see if the teacher Shannon noticed. She didn't. All she said was "good job" like she always does to everyone even if they don't do it perfectly and they need help. Maybe because Shannon didn't care if her students do good or not or maybe she is unqualified to teach dance? Chris is unqualified too. Her choreography is repetitive and sucks, the acro teacher Kate is incredibly unqualified, she used to cheerlead In high school and is best friends with the owner so the owner Chris thinks Kate is qualified enough to teach a dance class. I can literally go on and on forever about this place. I was very displeased with my experience here, and wrote my review on Facebook, hours later the owner and teachers contacted me via email and text message THREATENING ME to take the review down. They found a way to hide the reviews all together. This place is so sickening and unprofessional, it's really a disgrace to the dance community. Bottom line, don't sign your child up here!!!!

Incident Jan 27th: My daughter completes her dance class and is getting dressed to go home... but wait...her running shoes are missing!!! I go into that change room looked in the lost and found... cubbies...corners... other girls bags..NOTHING. At this point I am disgusted!! Now my daughter is leaving barefoot to get to the car?? Are you serious?? My husband calls a dance teacher who is the owners Barry's daughter..as useful as a brick wall! I expressed my frustration and include it is ridiculous that you pay hundreds of dollars and now how to worry about petty theft.... seriously! ! I also included this is why I prefer my child to bring her personals with her to class so they are safe. She wanted to know why am I getting mad at her...does she want me to give my daughter her shoes so she can get home?? Matter of fact..YES!!! The owner Barry could care less..until I posted on their site a review outlining our experience and suggesting whom ever took the shoes bring them back and teach their daughter about stealing. Low and behold my husband gets a call after my post 3 hrs later indicating they found my daughters shoes in the corner?!?! The same corner I looked in myself?!?! What a miracle... and that my daughter can leave their school !!! This place has no integrity. Come to find out through other parents who also have children that go their that theft is a regular thing and they don't do much about it! So I guess it must be very annoying for someone like me to speak up about the principal of things. They wanted me to move my daughter down a level but I am unable to take her that day. So the teacher called me and was extremely rude and even said "if I have to put in the effort to come to work then you can put in the effort to take your daughter to class". After this call my daughter told me "how can I return if the teacher doesn't want me in her class". Dance should be done for the love of dance, the children do their best and practice because they love it , they don't need to feel humiliated to belittled. The teachers should be better educated on how to deal with children and have as good of a understanding for child psychology as they do for dance.

The teachers were patient with our simultaneously shy and rambunctious toddler, and have really helped her come out of her shell. We recently held her 3rd birthday party there, and as usual, the staff was incredible and the whole event ran smoothly. We love this place!
