    Fried green tomatoes and potstickers
    Valerie S.

We were staying at the Best Western across the street for the night and were in the mood for some drinks so we were glad to see this place. They had a pretty good crowd over there and we ended up staying for a few hours. The bartender was great and we chatted a bit with one of the cooks who was enjoying some drinks in his off time. We ordered some fried green tomatoes and potstickers to go - both of which were delicious. The fried green tomatoes were topped with some blue cheese and balsamic and chopped red tomatoes, and the potstickers were served on top of some nice buttery cabbage. They had a whole bunch of stuff on the menu I would have loved to try - everything we saw coming out of the kitchen looked and smelled fabulous. Definitely recommend checking this place out if you're in the area!

I have to say this place is a dive bar and it's located in a low priced Motel but it will really surprise you if you give it a chance. The reviews were mostly good and it was packed when we arrived on a Friday night. In fact we had difficulty parking but the parking lot is a little hard to navigate especially with the adjoining Hotel. Our waitress was a little rough looking and seem to have an attitude at first but she did warm up and her service ended up being very efficient. She recommended the burgers and said it was a local favorite and had even won awards and I can see why. They would definitely give a burger joint a run for the money. The baroche bun was toasted and the burger seasoned very well. Just the right amount of crispiness on the outside especially on the edges and juicy and flavorful in the inside. All I can say is don't judge a book by its cover because this place will definitely surprise you.

    Smothered pierogies

Not sure why this place doesn't have better reviews. Service was great. Very friendly and cheerful waitperson. Good beer choices, even some local drafts. And food was really good. I had the smothered pierogies, which were really yummy. Also had a side salad that was made with fresh, mixed spring greens, cucumbers, carrots, tomato with house made ranch dressing. My husband had a burger (on a gluten free bun-yay!) and sweet potato fries. The fries were great. We will gladly return next time passing through

    Mild wings

We had heard friends and family talk about this place for months so decided to give it a try. The salad was large for the price and was a good, standard salad. The burger had good flavor and was cooked well. The wings were small, but the sauce was delicious. The sauce didn't stick to the wings the best so we ended up rolling them around in it. Pricing overall was standard for the area and for the quality of food received.

But I was intrigued by the burnt turkey ends with maple waffle fries and maple turkey gravy and cheese curds I also ordered a bowl of chili and lemme tell ya - it was some of the best chili I've ever had! Now, the turkey ends... Wow, that plate was DELICIOUS I don't know how they make maple waffle fries, but they need to become a thing. The maple turkey gravy was rich and salty and sweet. The cheese curds were creamy and melty and added texture and flavor. I'm blaming it on the 16oz of beer and the bowl of amazing chili... But I tapped out halfway through haha! One of the most interesting and tasty meals I've had in a long time. I'm going to see how they heat up in the air fryer, for breakfast. Should you find yourself on I-80 in western PA, definitely plan to stop at Denny's Beer Barrel... But you better be ready to eat!

We came to try the 2 pounder challenge (2 lbs AFTER cooking plus the toppings and bun), which I demolished in 30 min or so (you get an hour and if you finish you get a shirt, your name and finish time on a plaque in their Hall of Fame, and 50% off the burger itself). The burger itself was quite solid - juicy and tender without any seasoning so you can add your toppings. Be sure to grab a side of the fries (I prefer the crinkle-cut sweet potato), a milkshake or beer, and maybe a taco. It's no frills but a nice lowkey option that has a blend of visitors and locals.

Yay! Unfortunately, when we arrived, the last Bean Burger had been sold and the black beans listed as a side were actually cooked in some heavy butter... so it became one of those stops where only French fries were the hot vegan option... because who wants a cold salad when it's 20°F?! In any case, the server was very nice about it and the Craft Beer was still vegan, and because we called ahead about the vegan burger option, they even comped the fries for running out. So- disappointed it wasn't as hearty as we hoped for a vegan on our arrival- but very kind to apologize with comped fries. For those who weren't vegan- the French Dip on ciabatta was on special and sooooo good. I don't like horseradish and it didn't overwhelm the flavor, so it was absolutely perfect! The pulled pork melt with crispy fried onions and bbq sauce was also excellent with a very crunchy buttered thick Texas toast bread. Excellent food when it's available- and hoping for a few more vegan options because Pennsylvania towns are a bit of slim pickings if you don't want to eat animal products!

We got two of the breakfast plates, as it was a little too early for the kitchen to do lunch.
