Walked in to make an appt, redhead girl at the front desk was super friendly and adorable! Helped get an estimate on work and she found us a slot based on our work schedule. Shop is clean, organized and filled with dark, interesting art and articles based on the stores owner winning a tat competition on TV. Made my appt and came back. Got the tats today. My husband and I got our anniversary dates in Roman numerals with a quote from game of thrones. We worked with Chris. His tat room was filled with awesome nerd stuff and we took turns watching netflix to entertain ourselves while the others were getting ink. The tats are beautiful! Every line is crisp and straight. I had him free hand some suns, and they are perfect. A real talent! We made another appt for 2 days from now and will continue to do so! read more

Made an appointment for my 18 year old daughter Maddie in November with Scheck for 12/29/19. My daughters first tattoo came out amazing! The whole staff is super friendly and down to earth and scheck is almost as big of a wise ass as I am. He made my daughter first experience a pleasurable one to where she is already making plans to go back for another piece! The work that is done in this place is top notch! We went through all the portfolio books and each piece is so amazing! I just realized I never review 12 Tattoos. It's been a couple years since I got my work done by JP, but I'm glad I picked him and this studio for my first tattoo. Their clean, professional, friendly, and help put you at ease. Their after care was spot on and my tattoo still looks great to this day, despite some very mild fading. The process was fun, even if communicating my design was difficult (sometimes I suck at explaining things). I drew a skull design and wanted it watercolor, as if paint had spattered on canvas and formed a skull by chance. After a lot of conversation, JP and I settled on a design and he got to work on his first watercolor and my first tattoo. I write this today because I'm going back for my second tattoo and taking my girlfriend for her first (and we had a HORRIBLE experience at a place in Boston)! Excited to see the work Brianna does today. UPDATE 06/27/2017: My girlfriend and I got tattoos today by Briana and I still couldn't possibly recommend 12 Tattoos enough. They are professional, honest, friendly people with incredible talent and genuine care for their work and their customers. I just went back for my 2nd tattoo with Chris Speer. He really does some amazing work. Chris is easy to work with and was able to give me something creative and different. STEVE IS RUDE & EXTREMELY UNPROFESSIONAL! I went in March to schedule an appt in time before summer but was booked up til June. Made the appt & was told by Steve himself he would get me sooner (lies). Arrived to my appt & he didn't have my sketch completed. Which I kept dming him to see at least a rough draft & he always had an excuse why he couldn't send it. He blamed his staff for messing up the schedule as they schedule me as a male?!? I thought that was more unprofessional of him for throwing his staff under the bus like that since he's responsible for his clients. He asked me to be flexible with him offering me a discount & obviously I really wanted this tattoo so I rescheduled. Few days prior to rescheduled appt, reception calls to reschedule AGAIN because Monday doesn't work for the ink master So I dmed him asked would he give me a bigger discount since I'm accommodating to his needs. He said no, so I said I will not re-reschedule. At this point I wanted to see if he even worked on my sketch. So I asked for the fifth time to see what he has so far & once again ladies/gents he had an excuse. He said I will have it before the re-rescheduled date which was less than a week away. I stated we were already speaking so why not send me whatever he can to get me off his back right?!? NO! He said he wasn't home -__- I wanted to get the tattoo done the date we both agreed, he said no he will only see me on the date he was forcing me to re-reschedule. I realize I wasn't getting anywhere & didn't want to get a tattoo from someone who acts like I'm asking him for a favor. I'm under the impression it's a service you are charging very pricey for! read more

So I went here to get my nose pierced. George was very nice and kind and said I could make a later appointment with him to change it to the tight hoop I wanted once any possible swelling went down. I made an appointment and went back two weeks later and brought the new hoop I bought. He barely said anything to me, didn't sanitize the new piercing at all, and opened the hoop the wrong way which bent my new hoop (added a pic of what I mean). Went home immediately to clean it- hopefully it won't get infected. Might have to buy a new hoop since this one now is bent. Pretty disappointed... read more

I got my belly button pierced at 12 Tattoos a couple months ago, the receptionist was very friendly the piercer was also friendly but my piercing is crooked. It was around 60$ which is more expensive than other piercers but I didn't mind because I thought I was paying for it to be done correctly. Once I saw my piercing and asked if it was crooked the piercer told me it was just the long bar they had to pierce me with and that once I changed it out it would look straight. I've tried multiple different piercings and it still looks crooked. I've never heard anything good about the piercer, I would not go here for any piercings. They do have great tattoo artists that are definitely worth checking out though! read more

If anyone thinks this shop is "little" I want to see where they have been tattooed because this space is HUGE. There must be at least 10 different stations here, and a nice little drawing area with a computer to get references. Making an appointment over the phone was not a problem, and they always call me week of to remind me about my appointment. The front lot is huge, plenty of parking. Next door is a massive head shop. There is a big sign out front so it's hard to miss. I've been in twice to see Steve Tefft, and I have always felt comfortable. He was very easy to work with, and made sure my ideas translated to decent tattoos. When I wanted him to freehand a design, it was badass and quick. The staff is friendly, and a lot of different people come in. The last time I was there I saw like a 70 year old lady, a 40 something animal rescuer, some teenage girls, and some homeboys. Everyone looked like they got what they wanted. This is a really nice place to get a tattoo. read more

I went to get a nose piercing on the right side (I already had the left done by the same person) and he pierced it very crooked. I emailed the shop around 2 weeks later and asked for a refund and provided pictures that showed just how crooked the piercing was. After days of trying to get them to give me a refund they told me it was my fault bc I had approved of the placement (which looked fine to me bc I'm not a professional piercer, I can't tell if it's completely even to the other one. The piercer should be the one to make sure it's perfect) they talked with the owner & still refused to give me a refund and said all they can do is have him redo it which I feel like would put me in an uncomfortable situation bc I could be given something even worse out of spite. My problem with this parlor isn't the artwork. They're all very talented artists. My problem is their lack of caring for what you want and your piece. My artists didn't seem to care what I was trying to get. Instead tried several times to change what I was wanting. I was rescheduled on twice with only a days notice at most. And they rescheduled me for a tattoo appointment on Mother's Day I didn't know about, so when I was a no-show, they made my $100 deposit void. And to top it off, every time I went in to talk to my artist, he had completely forgotten who I was and what I wanted. Made me feel like no design efforts were being made despite my appointment coming up in a few days. There is no personalization at this parlor. It's just a clock work "give me your money" business. Big D just detailed and revamped my old Polynesian tattoo that i was disappointed in at first. Big D made me love my new tattoo. He did such an amazing job! I am getting married soon and bought a sleeveless dress to show off the beautiful work in professional pictures. I can't describe how happy I am with this new tattoo. More than I ever expected it to be... I will absolutely go to him for any future tattoos and even have my fiancée making an appointment for a difficult cover up in the next few weeks . If I could put a review of ZERO, I would. I am completely disgusted with this place...My 15 year old daughter called to make an appointment to get her cartilage pierced. She spoke to a sweet girl who set up the appointment, but never asked her age or said ANYTHING about bringing ID (or even about bringing a parent!) We drove 45 minutes for the obnoxious man at the desk to tell us quite rudely that she needed her birth certificate to "prove she was my daughter!" When I told him that this policy IS NOT posted on their website, nor did anyone tell us this when she called, he was arrogant and obnoxious and had absolutely not a care in the world that no policy was stated or that we had to spend 90 minutes in a car for no reason! CLEARLY, I WOULD HAVE HAD TO SIGN A WAIVER ANYWAY STATING THAT THEY WOULD NOT BE HELD RESPONSIBLE IF ANYTHING WENT WRONG, BUT HE WOULDN'T BUDGE. My family and friends have gone there for tattoos on many occasions but this will NEVER happen again. I will be telling everyone I know about our experience. I know this place is not in need of any additional business due to its reputation for their tattoos and it's certainly not a big deal to them, but people still need to be made aware of how awful we were treated! The front desk lady was extremely rude as well as the owner. I went in with a friend to get a simple consultation I had called previously and she had a very bad attitude when I asked if Thomas Slocum had any availability. She said not until Friday and I said that's fine. Is there anyone else I can just speak to. She continued her attitude. Once I got to the store she completely ignored us and continued to look down at the computer or cellphone and I stood there before getting agitated and asking her is there someone who can assist us. She then gets up and goes in the back cackling with whoever and walks out says nothing and goes back to her desk. She then gets an attitude AGAIN . She then asks me "well what do you want" I proceed to tell her and she rolls her eyes and says "ok" We then walked out sick and tired of her not assisting us. We then called the owner and explained to him what had happened and we didn't understand her attitude towards us and were looking for some closure. He was just as rude as her saying she wasn't doing anything wrong wasn't sympathetic with us in any way. Highly disappointed because I was referred to this place by a close friend who's been going there for years and it just saddens me. Would not recommend this place. 0/10. read more

Disappointed. This is my first Yelp review. Felt compelled to do it. I wanted a very simple finger tattoo. Went in and the artist gave me exactly what I wanted, exactly where i wanted it. That's the good news. Bad news is here we are nearly 3 weeks later and it appears to be chipping off....not fading....CHIPPING OFF like kids' fake tattoos do. When I told them what I wanted, they told me that they do not warrant or guarantee finger/hand/feet tattoos because "over time" they will fade. No one said a thing about chipping off, nor did they say that "over time" was possibly 2-3 weeks! Had they told me this, I would have likely placed the tattoo elsewhere. But frankly, what I am most disappointed about is the lack of communication. I reached out to them via their "contact us" link on their website, and sent a message to Mr. Tefft and to date, I've received no response. Poor customer service. I'm sorry but had they explained that a finger tattoo could chip off within days of getting it, I would have placed it elsewhere. To me, saying "fade over time" is not indicative of chipping, nor is it clear that it could happen in days/weeks after getting it done. I love my tattoo. Just wish it looked better. When I called and spoke to the receptionist, she offered have them fill it back in for the minimum charge (which was only $20 less than I paid for the tattoo itself). Wish I received a call from the owner to discuss. Disappointed. Not sure I'd go back now. read more
