School of Rock Rockwall I never thought I would be writing…read morea negative review for SOR Rockwall but I feel my granddaughter needs to be heard. She cherished the past 61/2 years with SOR Rockwall. However, she has been in the program for the past 7 years. When a senior leaves the program there are 2 major events that occur. One is the student will receive a plaque depicting their time there. She received the plaque with the wrong last name and she said, "it's okay they are really busy with the new studio". In all fairness one of the owners had a medical emergency and we totally understand. She was given a corrected photo and told she could replace it. Second, is the senior gets to choose a senior song where they are showcased during the concert. She never even got to tell them her song choice. Again a lot of changes so we were disappointed but okay. Her final concert was July 27, and as we walked out, no one from the SOR said anything to her. She was on social media and another senior from the same SOR had their plaque correct and a senior song. There was postings of the SOR staff celebrating the other students at the same venue we were at. The last 6 months are her final moments at SOR, and her memories at this time are true devastation. They never apologize or offer any consideration, yet if you try to reschedule, they make you pay. Stay away from this school--you don't want the disappointment.

Finally creating a Yelp account to review a great business…read more I really love this place. The professionals at Caraway Strings are of a special caliber--true strings experts and lovely to work with. I rarely ever receive such detailed customer care and it's a rare bit of magic to come in here among the hallowed beauty of the hanging instruments and receive such thorough support for whatever needs I may have. It's a small store with limited space, so if you have a child needing a string rental for school, I recommend calling to schedule an appointment and they can determine if they potentially have the size you're looking for. As a former violinist with a dream of starting it up again, they were also able to look at my violin and talk me through any concerns I had in detail and walk through what if anything could be potentially repaired or altered. Very quality luthier shop. Special shout out to Robyn, who from the time I called on the phone to the end of our visit was just awesome. My son is in love with his beautiful rental violin and has named it Silverstring.
