    Muay Thai Class

My boys and I have been training here since January and it has been an amazing experience. The facility is very clean and organized, the coaches are great with the kids and very welcoming to everyone with pricing better than any other gyms for what they offer. Highly recommended for anyone new and experienced!

As a lifelong martial arts practitioner (TKD, Shotokan, and some Judo and Kendo), I gave it up when I went off to college. Almost 20 years removed from any sort of martial arts training, I was worried about taking it up again -- this time at a much older age, and with a much more physical art than others. Everyone here is great and willing to help the newer people learn. The gym itself is brand new (opened mid-2018), so the gym is very clean and well-kept. Rick is a great instructor with the lineage and credentials to help you start your jiu-jitsu journey. They also offer Muay Thai classes if you're interested in working on your striking -- and Wrestling, to help augment your jiu-jitsu. More traditional gym-type Health/fitness classes like MMA cardio are offered as well. They also have kids classes. Classes are offered in the morning and evening, so it'll be easy to find one that fits your schedule.

Very nice gym with a very talented instructor. Rick Marshall has trained under some of the best teachers so he really knows his stuff. He's also a stickler for cleanliness which is a super important quality in a gym. Highly recommeneed!

Great place to come weather its your first time or if you are a black belt. Great friendly environment. Rick, the head instructor is very knowledgeable and makes you feel right at home. Excellent facility too. For me its the only place around to get in shape and learn a martial art.

After about 9 months I'm still not very experienced as far as jiu jitsu and muay thai are concerned but Rick is an amazing instructor and will make sure that you get the technique correct so that you can do it correctly if you ever want to get in the ring and not get destroyed!! Jonas, the muay thai instructor, is an amazing instructor as well and just like Rick will make sure that you have the right technique so that you can have the ability to get in the ring if you want to and they both make sure to get everyone the one on one time needed to make sure that they improve.

Good Times, Good People, Good No Gi Jiu Jitsu.

The kids are also able to make friends here in class and at other events like Parent's Night Out, Trunk or Treat, and a holiday party. My son says what he likes most is that he feels that he is learning to protect himself and he gets to make friends. They are very professional and very caring. My husband finally started classes as well and feels it is a great work out. The instructors explain the moves well and the mechanics on how the moves work and manipulate the body. The skills are very useful for self defense and the classes are fun. Other great things are you have access to an online university to help you practice between classes. They also have a team that trains weekly and competes. The facility is also always very clean and it is in a safe area. Lastly, some might think maybe their child might struggle to learn, but they truly work with students on meeting them where they are if necessary. You can also sign up for extra classes or private lessons when they are available.

I don't know how they manage to remember everyone's names, but they all do. They keep things organized while still making it fun, and the sense of community is real. The kids have clearly grown in discipline and focus, while also sharpening reflexes, strikes, and sparring skills. The instructors are friendly, encouraging, and create an environment where kids enjoy themselves but also learn the values and techniques a true dojo teaches. It's been amazing to see the kids' progress--we're happy with this school.

This review is long overdue, but it's one I've been meaning to write because Tempest Taekwondo has…read morebeen such a huge part of our lives. If you're a parent looking for a taekwondo school that truly helps kids grow -- not just in skill, but in confidence and character -- this is it. My son started when he was 5, and now at 7, he's a purple belt! Over the past year, he's gained so much strength, balance, and focus... every belt promotion feels like a proud-parent moment. He walks out of every class a little taller and a lot more confident. I actually stumbled on Tempest by accident -- I was walking past the dojang on my way to Redlands Barre (same building!) and saw one of my girlfriends and her son in the Wolf Cubs class. A week later, my son was signed up, and the rest is history! The Tempest team -- Master Terrence, Instructors Minh and Vi, and the rest of the instructors -- go above and beyond for these kids. Classes are fun, challenging, and full of energy. They know how to push the students while still making it feel encouraging and positive. What really makes Tempest special is how much it feels like a family. Instructor Minh is amazing at keeping both parents and kids involved -- she reads out the goals and notes we parents submit so the kids hear that encouragement directly. The team also gives out Taekwondo cards for things like Best Attitude, Courage, Skill, Citizenship, and even special editions for training camps or holidays. It's such a clever way to reward effort and gamify progress! And an unexpected bonus -- taekwondo has made my son a way better soccer player! Something about learning to kick with precision and discipline has carried over to the field. His coordination, balance, and agility have skyrocketed. I swear his soccer game has improved fiftyfold since joining Tempest! Earlier this month, the Tempest team competed in the Orange County Open Martial Arts Championship in Newport Beach, and it was incredible to see how far they've all come. Watching them perform their poomsae together, show power in speed kicks and punches, and beam with pride was pure joy. My son brought home gold, silver, and bronze, and he was so proud of himself -- we were extra extra extra proud of him! We've also made some wonderful friendships through Tempest. Ethan's had playdates and hangouts with fellow students, and we've connected with such great families over the past year and a half. When your kid loves where they learn -- and you love the community that comes with it -- that's something really special. And speaking of community, Tempest organized an awesome camping trip at Silverwood Lake earlier this year -- movie night, Easter egg hunt, campfires, the works. It was such a fun weekend bonding with other families and the instructors who make this place feel like home. Watching our son's journey -- from wobbly white-belt kicks to confident purple-belt poomsaes -- has been one of the most rewarding parts of parenthood. Tempest isn't just about martial arts... it's about confidence, community, and character...on the mat and off.

He started at 4 y/o and just recently moved to intermediate level. Words are not enough to describe the experiences he's had in the last year, but suffice to say that we are extremely happy with the skills he's learned. Master Terrence and all the instructors (especially Alejandro and Lauren) are amazing. Instructors Minh and Vi are friendly and welcoming. The junior instructors are extremely helpful. Tempest has a very inviting and friendly environment with supportive instructors, family members and students. They offer free trial classes so make sure to check them out. If you think you or your child can benefit from the physical and mental discipline it provides, take a chance and join! You won't regret it.

Forget Bally's and 24-Hour Fitness…read more.. This place is AWESOME! Worth the money and you'll see results in no time. Yes it's $50/month but it is really well worth it! You sign up and yes you get your own gloves and wraps. You can go to all the classes they offer. They have classes where you physically use the boxing bag, or you can take an aerobics class that does everything the except physically use the bag. They have kettlebell classes and there's also personal training. You got kids? Bring them, there's a small play area with a tv to keep your kids occupied while you work out. You get a real workout from head to toe. The classes are small and it's better because you get that feeling like you're working with a personal trainer. The instructors go around during class and make sure you are doing the work out right so you don't hurt yourself. The owner Monique is so nice and super sweet. She takes the time to get to know you. She's so active you'll catch her running around the place making sure everything is right and running smooth. Gotta love that. It's family owned, her daughter is the receptionist and she also takes classes there too. Check it out. I saw results in 2 weeks, my co-workers noticed immediately saying i had more defined arms and my waist looked thinner. If there was anything higher than an A+ i would definitely give it to UKB.
