As an old guy I always wanted to take Jujitsu classes, I did my homework and research before signing up. One name kept coming up as the best of the best, Marcellini's Martial Arts Academy. I made the perfect choice, Master Marcellini is great, he takes his time to explain, review and demonstrate each move and their meaning. There is a warm team work environment and the other more experienced students are super patient helping us newbies. If your new or experienced you must try this place

The instructor and the workers were not welcoming and they made me and my son very uncomfortable.

Ask the Community - Marcellini's Martial Arts Academy

I am a 65 year old retired public safety officer who would like to train. Is my age a factor? Despite a surgical screw there and a back surgery here, I'm still in decent health.

Age is absolutely not a factor as you don't need to rely on strength to practice jiu jitsu. At marcellini's, sensei sam put a great emphasis on technique. Give it a try. Hope… Read more

I've been training Muay Thai at USKO Riverside for almost two years. This studio is run by the…read morePagliuso family where Joey fought in Kickboxing and some Muay Thai. The evening classes that I attend are taught by lead instructor, Ray. Although I only train in Muay Thai, Brazilian Jiu Jitsu and Karate classes are also offered here. Onsite gym access is also offered with Gold membership and access to the Orange facility is also offered with the Gold membership. Muay Thai practices typically consist of a warm-up such as jump rope or jumping with conditioning drills in-between, shadow boxing, learning technique by hitting pads, bag drills with punches and kicks and sparring at the last 15 minutes of practice. The workout is great for me as I'm in my 50's and I don't have any aspirations to compete. I attend 2 - 3 times a week, evenings during the week and sometimes Saturday morning. It would be tough to get that high intensity workout by just going to a gym. The staff is is friendly and helpful. My only opportunities for improvement are more clinch training is needed on Monday or Fridays and the mats could be cleaned more frequently. Four stars!

Was getting the itch to get back into martial arts training and decided to try out a free class. I…read moretried the Muay Thai class with coach Ray at first. I liked that the class consisted of a lot of partner drills and pad work, with the option of sparring after every class. I signed up on the spot for a twice a week membership. A few months later I tried out the jiujitsu class with coach Paul and got hooked on that as well. My first class we worked on one move then rolled for the rest of class. It was a great workout and no information overload from trying to learn too many techniques in one class. I upgraded to the unlimited membership after that class.
