I tagged along and I'm glad I did. That was one of the most changing moments of my life. I met coach Dan and a few of the other guys that soon became my jiu jitsu family. Coach Dan. Man. I loved his slight accent, his morales, the way he knew where he stood. Being 16 years old and impressionable, he really helped mold me into the young lady I am today. He was never in it for the money. He coaches because he loves it. Definitely the BEST training you could get. He's hands down the best coach. The way he teaches and takes time with every student. His knowledge and years of experience. Starting jiu jitsu here was great. Stay loyal. Stay hungry to learn. You put in the hard work and enthusiasm, coach will help you progress. *flow with the go* Love, The tiny girl who walked in and didn't know what the fuck she was doing, but she loved it. - Geny

Dan has many sayings at his school, one of which is to leave your ego at the door, which every student at the school practices. Promotions in belt ranking will not come quickly or easily at this school, as they shouldn't, Dan emphasizes mastery of the basic fundamentals in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu and will not promote you until he truly feels you are ready.

Love and miss this place so much. Best coaches ever…read more Parents, be very careful where you take your kids to. We got out of a place where the owner was a crazy, psychotic guy who couldn't even keep a good relationship with his employees so he was short staffed and he was the one giving the classes to the little ones. He pinched one of my kids who was only 4 years at the time and left a big bruise on his right arm. When I confronted him, he got all nasty. I left his place and wrote a bad review on his business. He threatened me and continued to call my husband several times a day so that I would delete the bad review from his page. That guy was definitely mentally unstable. No wonder his business is closed! After doing a more careful research of where to take our kids, we found SoCal Fight Factory. I regret not finding this place before and exposing my kids to danger by taking them with that psychotic brazilian guy in Palmdale on Grand Cypress Ave . SoCal Fight Factory is a safe place for kids. The coaches are Amazing. They all earned our respect and admiration. My kids learned so much from their coaches, specially from Marco. We miss this place so much. Unfortunately, we had to move out of California and we haven't been able to find another place like SoCal Fight Factory. To be honest, what we miss more from California besides the weather is SoCal Fight Factory.

It's clear they care not just about teaching Jiu-Jitsu, but also about helping their students grow both on and off the mat. As a family member, it's reassuring to see him in such a positive, structured, and encouraging space. I highly recommend Gracie Jiu-Jitsu in Lancaster to anyone looking for a great training environment.

It is discipline of the mind when it wants to race, it is being in touch with your body and your surroundings, it is respecting yourself and your partners and the art of this practice. We have all learned so much already. I would also like to highlight Coach Andrew as a dedicated teacher and coach, he is fully committed to this work and that's why we're not only getting a sports or a martial arts training, we're all getting a life experience! Thank you to all the staff members of this space! Warmly, Hera, Gaia & Rhea.

The instructors are not only highly skilled martial artists but also outstanding mentors who truly care about each student's growth--both on and off the mat. From a teacher's perspective, I see firsthand how the lessons learned in class--respect, perseverance, and self-control--carry over into academics and social interactions. My child has become more responsible with homework, listens attentively, and shows greater patience when working through challenges. The environment at Quartz Hill Karate is welcoming, structured, and positive. Whether your child is looking to build self-defense skills, improve focus, or simply gain a sense of community, this is the place to be. I highly recommend it to any parent looking for a program that nurtures both physical and personal development!

I have attended other karate establishments, but I have never found anything matching the quality of instruction that I receive here. Master Quinlan teaches practical, useful karate and self-defense and belts are earned, not given. In the last three years, I have seen my kid's confidence in themselves grow tremendously as well as my own, and as a father I am beginning to feel confidence in my children's ability to protect themselves in dangerous situations, even at their age. One of the things I respect most about Master Quinlan is that he holds his students accountable, holds them to high standards, and yet maintains such a good rapport among them. As a high school teacher, I understand the difficulty of being able to maintain both high standards and good relationships, but he does an exceptional job at both. Another thing that I respect about Master Quinlan from the perspective of a teacher, is that, just as a good school teacher differentiates instruction for students with different needs, so does Master Quinlan. I have never seen him refuse any student that wants to learn, but rather meet students where they are with the goal of simply making them better, one step at a time. I would highly recommend Quartz Hill Karate to anyone, young and old.
