Their other instructors - these are the guys I wish coached him in (some of) his other sports growing up. They are supportive, approachable, fun, and friendly. Yeah, sometimes it's too much for a kid, but they aren't getting yelled at, they aren't getting thrown into a gauntlet, they aren't getting picked on. They're being pushed in a positive manner. Hanging around, it's clear how friendly the people attending the other classes are, as well, which just speaks to the vibe of the place. We joined about 6 months ago and we signed a 2 year contract. Recently, we decided to move out of the area and the way the situation was handled was phenomenal. I had offered to pay the difference of the cost of the in contract membership and the out of contract membership for the past 6 months, so $60 plus pay on the price of the out of contract membership. It's old school, but clean as a whistle and such a professional atmosphere. "Old school" in the sense it's minimalist because you don't need a lot of fancy equipment for your coach to teach you martial arts. Also "old school" because the coaches are professionally trained - clearly taking mutual respect for coach and student as well as seriousness of your training program to heart. But - they meet you where you are - just push you to be your best. Here's my personal example: In California, I used to box in a micro gym (pre-COVID) then I had a personal trainer that I had to let go. Since November I have not been able to find a replacement. I came to Ohio for the fall and by happenstance landed here for a trial class. Bob gave me a full hour of mitts and noodles and got me back to training with the patience of a saint and the teachings of an expert. I have only been practicing a short time. There are some things that I am very educated on such as customer service, good people, and passionate individuals. This place checks all of those boxes. I was in the area for work and prior to my visit, I emailed the website asking about "drop ins". In probably an hour I received a very welcoming reply with the class schedule and asking about my abilities so I wouldn't be in over my head. BJ greeted me, showed me around, and got me set up for the Basics course that was taught by Tyler.
