SCW and I stopped in here for some lunch before visiting some wineries in town. I looked at the reviews on Yelp and decided to give them a try. I'm glad we did. from the moment we opened the screen door we were warmly greeted by such kind and friendly people I knew we were in the right place. The menu is overhead and they do offer some vegetarian and vegan options. I ended up ordering the seaweed salad and the veggie roll. SCW got the avocado sandwich. We chose to eat inside which was impeccably clean. Three tables seating two each in a comfortable space. Our order took maybe 10 minute, probably a little less to be served at our table in compostable containers. The seaweed salad was delicious. The quantity was good, the food fresh and the dressing was amazing. The veggie roll was also very fresh and delicious. SCWs sandwich was very tasty as well. The service was amazing. To give you an example I dropped one of my chopsticks on the floor by accident and before I got to the counter to get another they already were bringing me a new set. Outstanding service. I don't think I have ever tried a better deli in all of Ventura and Santa Barbara County in my life before. I would always drive by this place early morning before I start my work and tell myself one day I will go in and try it and when I finally decided to go and try it, I was overwhelmed on how many different items you can order fresh from the menu. My first ever menu item I tried from them was a chicken salad sandwich and the chicken salad and proved to be right because it taste so fresh. I really enjoyed the sandwich so I decided to come back the next morning and I got the same sandwich and next thing you know I've been coming back for an entire month every single morning because of how addicted I got to their food! Paul and Angie are super super nice and welcoming absolutely wonderful people and now I've been alternating between their different menu items like the breakfast sandwich breakfast burrito or chicken salad sandwich they all taste so good. The price is great. The service is amazing and they make fresh sushi during the day as well, but I usually come early morning And I absolutely love starting my day with 101 deli thank you guys so much and see you tomorrow again!!! read more

Just randomly saw this place on Yelp today and had to go try it as I'm Asian so I'm always on the lookout for new Asian places to try because I need my Asian food fix from time to time -- it's a special diet I have :P I was a little skeptical based on their seemingly random array of food selections but I went for it anyways despite my husband saying he wasn't impressed with a sandwich he got there once. To my delight, this place was totally awesome! It's a cute little deli in an industrial area so they get a lot of foot traffic during lunchtime from all the workers nearby. There's indoor and outdoor seating and the cute Asian couple that owns it are so nice and sweet. I got the lunch combo with chicken teriyaki and California roll -- it comes with miso soup, rice, salad and 2 egg rolls. The miso soup was authentic and delicious, the teriyaki chicken was sweet/savory and grilled to perfection with bits of charred ends, the egg rolls were hot and crispy, the California roll was fresh and moist, and the salad was tossed with a tasty sesame ginger dressing. In terms of flavor, it's honestly on par with a lot of real Japanese restaurant bento lunches. It was also a lot of food for under $15! I couldn't finish it all so I'll also have leftovers to eat for dinner tonight. I have yet to try the other menu items but I'll be sure to come back again soon! read more

They made my rolls to order right in front of me. Menu has breakfast, soup, coffee and burritos too. The place was super clean, busy, and the staff was very friendly. This is a family owned and operated deli on Cesar Chavez. It is a bit difficult to find at first, but worth it if you're in the area and you're hungry. The coolest thing about this place is the friendly family that works their. They are really fast and make great food, but the coolest thing is that they give 100% of their tips to help a different children charity every year. They are very humble and hard working - and you won't know anything about how cool they are unless you ask them a bunch of questions like I have. They have awesome breakfast sandwiches and burritos - ooh especially if you like bacon! And killer sandwiches for lunch - my favorite is the Deli Special. Ate half right away and didn't get to the other half until late evening and it was excellent cold! The person who helped me with the order was polite and responsive to my many questions (yes, I was THAT annoying person during the lunch rush that day....sorry!) My hubby ordered the turkey and cheese on sour dough with tomato and romaine. Excellent as well! He raved about the quality of the meat, cheese and veggies - amazed that the romaine was so fresh.
