Easy to work with, fast, honest and sweet guy . My wife car got broken into and unfortunately, it's happened more than once .Chantos showed up and fix it in no time .

Freshly installed window on my Toyota Camry. All I need to do now is get it tinted.

Rule #1 When visiting the Bay Area: Never leave anything valuable in your car. Someone broke into my car around Union Square last night and all of the glass repair shops were already closed. Chantos answered my call this morning and was at my place within the hour. The whole installation was finished within 30 minutes, and he even cleaned out all of the glass lodged in the seat. The window works great, and compared to the other shops nearby, this was definitely the best deal... some were charging $400 for a simple fix. 1000% Recommend this service!!!! Best in town!!!

Chantos was a lifesaver. My car was broken into in one of our rainy periods, and my insurance's preferred repair company (for the window) gave me an appointment for one week later - despite the rain. I found Chantos on Yelp, he was so efficient and nice and within a very short time the work was done, the broken glass was vacuumed, I had asked him about his bonsai tree, and I had a new window. Yay for Chantos! read more

I found 101Auto Glass on Craigslist and followed listings for awhile. Satisfied that it was a viable option for Sonoma County, I called and set up a day to replace my windshield. Chantos was cordial on the phone, found my windshield at a fair price, arrived on time, and completed the job without issues in a timely fashion. I asked what I could do to help his growing business in Sonoma County and Chantos asked if I would consider writing a Yelp Review.....seriously, you couldn't find a better auto glass technician for a better price. Happy to help a sincere, courteous person; I'm a very satisfied customer. read more

I checked around a few places then called this one. I just had my car window smashed and robbed of my stereo at Christmas time :(. I am a typical broke student and was scrambling for the money to pay for it. Chantos helped me out with a really good price, and he came to my parked car to do it, within only an hour. I had made a mistake on the year and so he had brought a glass with him that turned out not to fit. Chantos called around to a parts yard to find the right glass for my older car, drove to the yard to pick it up for me, and then came back and installed it, without charging me extra for the trouble. He was very gracious to help me out and did a good job, quickly. I highly recommend this small-business owner. Give him your business! Thanks, Chantos and Merry Christmas. read more

101 Auto Glass is the best deal in town, and best of all he meets you at your location so you don't have to take time off from work or anything. Last week some punk broke into my car and broke the glass. I called a couple of places but they either wanted to make appointments for later days or prices were outrages. Luckily I came across Chantos thanks to Yelp. He beat everyone's price and met me that afternoon. He was very professional, and did a great job replacing the glass. Other places wanted to charge me $200 extra to replace the frame, but Chantos cleaned up my old frame and used it, and let me tell you, it even looks better now than it did before. I definitely recommend everyone to get a quote from him before making a decision. read more

Got a nasty chip in my windshield this morning, courtesy of a truck on 880. Called 101 Auto Glass this afternoon to get a quote for a mobile repair and was promptly asked, "Do you want that taken care of now?" I said, "NOW now?" Yup. Dude was at my office within 30 minutes. He was courteous, friendly, and efficient -- and my windshield looks great! You can't ask for more than that. Nice work, 101. Thank you. read more

I've used 101 Auto Glass twice now, and been very impressed both times. The quotes I got were significantly lower than other places I called (e.g. $215 vs. $280 elsewhere), and the service was fast and super friendly. The first time they had to place a special order for the glass (it was an older car and they didn't have the right glass in stock), but the very next day they got it and were able to come by our home to fix it. The second time I called was for a newer car, and Chantos came by to make the repair just 30 minutes after I called him! read more

My trunk window was broken because someone tried to steal a bike out of my car. There was a ton of glass everywhere and I had called around but got outrageous quotes to fix it. He had the most affordable price and most convenient service since he came to me. He was a bit late but he gave me a discount and finished even faster than I expected. My window looks great and he did a thorough job cleaning all the glass. I'll definitely be calling him again if anything else happens. read more

My car was broken into the day before Thanksgiving. I have a dog walking service and can't run it with a wide open window. I tried to get an appointment with Safelite and they couldn't fit me in for over a week and that is only if I drove 20 miles to their store. If I wanted at-home service it was even longer. I found 101 Auto Glass after doing a google search. On a holiday weekend the owner answered the phone on the 2nd ring at 8:00am. He was at my house at 8:45 and my car was fixed by 9:20. Does it get any better than that? Yes it does because the price was almost $200.00 cheaper than Safelite quoted me. Woohoo! is right. read more

Chantos saved my day! The regulator on my passenger side power window stopped working properly, the window rolled down further when I tried to roll it up, and then it stopped working all together...at 6:30am on this rainy morning! Driving in the rain on the freeway is not ideal! Thankfully, Chantos answered his phone, before 8am even, asked me a few questions to diagnose the problem, and called me back with a quote a few minutes later, which for a Mini Cooper was very reasonable. He came to my work about two hours later, and replaced the regulator in about an hour and a half! I'm so grateful to him for making this process so much easier than I thought it was going to be. Other places required me going there, and said they had to do a diagnosis for $110 before offering me a quote. I will definitely be calling Chantos again for any other car window repairs, and will recommend him to all my colleagues...our car windows often get broken into in the neighborhood where we work :/ read more

These guys are awesome. Awesome awesome awesome. I had a crack in my windshield thanks to I-580 for the better part of two weeks (which appeared to be slowly growing), and I was afraid that it was too big to repair. I called Fast Glass Oakland and they referred me to 101 Auto Glass (as they only do full windshield replacements), and Chantos came out the next evening after I got off work (on time, called to confirm ahead of time, very professional). He got right to work and I put him on the phone with my insurance agent halfway through to get everything cleared -- no hiccups, no bumps along the way (forgive the cliche and possible pun). Chantos was done in less than half an hour, sealed and cured the spot where the crack had once been visible (by which point it had practically disappeared), washed the windshield, and before I knew it I was driving away with a smile on my face. Couldn't give a higher review or recommendation of this service -- thanks man. read more

The other day my moms car got broken into. The whole passenger side front window was gone. I called 101 auto glass to get a quote. The price he gave me was $160 and that he could do it within the hour. Since he was the first place I called, I told him that I would think about it and get back to him. I called two other places. The price was around the same but they would have to order the glass and instill it later in the afternoon. I didn't have time to wait so I called 101 back. He showed up within the next hour like he said and it only took 40 mins to replace the window. I was able to make it to work by noon and was very pleased on how convent he was. I didn't even have to leave the house. This was the first time I ever had to deal with something like this on my own and Chantos made it as easy for me as possible. He even cleaned up all the broken glass scattered through out the car. He left no trace of my widow nightmare, its almost like it never happened. read more

Serving Berkeley, Oakland, Alameda, Albany, Emeryville, El Cerrito, Kensington, Piedmont, Richmond and the surrounding East Bay.

History

Established in 2011.

I have been working as an auto glass technician since 1992, in a family owned and operated business. I opened 101 Auto Glass to keep doing it the same way: honest pricing, careful work, and service you actually remember. Today the business runs out of Berkeley and covers Oakland, Alameda and the surrounding East Bay. The work is mobile — I come to your home, your office, or wherever the car is parked, rain or shine — so a broken windshield costs you a phone call instead of your whole day. Alongside the retail side, I install glass for East Bay dealerships, collision centers and specialty shops. That is the same standard that shows up in a driveway in Berkeley on a Tuesday morning.

Meet the Business Owner: Chantos N.

Chantos Nourn has been an auto glass technician since 1992 — more than 30 years in the trade, starting in a family owned and operated business. He works out of Berkeley and covers Oakland, Alameda and the wider East Bay, driving to his customers rather than asking them to come to him. He is known in the auto world, and body shops and dealerships across the East Bay ask for him specifically when there is a tricky job that needs his finesse. He is not only an expert auto glass technician but a mechanic, so the jobs other shops turn away — classic cars, unusual trim, a water leak nobody can trace — are the routine ones. Chantos is a pleasure to work with: fair, thorough and knowledgeable. He does not cut corners, he will tell you honestly if a chip can be repaired instead of replacing the whole windshield, and he stands behind the work. A family man who believes in hard work, craftsmanship and honesty — you get a fair price, excellent quality work, and his friendly nature along with it.
