Freaking awesome. Great place to enjoy a picnic table with the dog or inside in the air con (sans…read moredog). Easy, free parking. We are an hour away but we want everything on the menu. Loved the peach beer myself (just the one) and my spouse enjoy his 3 ipa's. Met good patrons, which always tells me about a place. Pickle pizza hit the spot! And to make it 100% id suggest adding Sriracha or ranch drizzle? It needed just one *something.* but also totally brilliant without.

I stopped by here a number of weekends ago now with my wife for lunch and some drinks. We had been…read morelooking for a brewery in Erie to visit after the Erie Marathon whenever Lavery Brewing popped up on Yelp. This place is large and has both outdoor seating on the side as well as plenty of indoor seating. The inside looked like a mix of cozy and industrial, with a long wooden bar stretching the length of the room, warm pendant lights hanging overhead, colorful beer boards on the wall, and shelves lined with bottles and glassware behind the bar. It had a relaxed but lively feel to it. After looking around to figure out where we wanted to sit, we ultimately chose the bar. For lunch on this day I chose to go with the pimento smash deluxxxe while my wife went with the pesto pizza. The menu described my meal as two smash patties, bacon, American cheese, pimento cheese, and onion rings on a brioche bun while my wife's was described as parsley basil pesto, triple cheese blend, fire roasted tomatoes with a balsamic glaze. I thought that the burger here was delicious as the patties were seasoned nicely and I appreciated the onion rings. While there was plenty of cheese and it was flavorful, I almost could have used more of the pimento. Then my wife liked her pizza here especially the pesto combined with the fire roasted tomatoes. Then for drinks, as I often do whenever I visit a new brewery, I decided to go with a flight here. At Lavery Brewing, a flight consists of 6 beers and I chose the Active Recovery, Seeking Clarity, Lime n Cuke, Throwing Tropical Shade, Sound Mild, and Divine Intervention for my flight. I first started with the Active Recovery which was light and hoppy and very drinkable. Up second was the Seeking Clarity which had a clean start before a heavy dose of hops in the middle which surprisingly didn't linger. Third was the Lime n Cuke which has a strong cucumber smell and the drink itself is dry like most goses with a mild lime and stronger cucumber flavor. Fourth was Throwing Tropical Shade and you could really taste the orange and other tropical flavors with a finish flavor of coconut. For me this was a really delicious beer. Up fifth was the Sound Mild which was light but you got the nice flavor of those toasted malts at the finish. Last but certainly not least was the Divine Intervention which had a strong coconut flavor on the finish. Out of the bunch my favorite ended up being the Throwing Tropical Shade. The bottom line for me is that I would head back here again in the future. My wife and I both enjoyed the beverages and the food and we left both happy and stuffed.

Stopped in for an early dinner and instantly felt at home. The staff was friendly and engaging, chatty in the best way, attentive without hovering, so the whole meal felt relaxed and easy. I ordered the burger with bacon and American cheese, and it absolutely delivered: juicy, flavorful, and exactly the kind of comfort-food hit you're hoping for when you order a classic burger. Big bonus: it's a surprisingly great place for toddlers. Comfortable, family-friendly, and the kind of environment where you don't feel stressed bringing little ones along.

A bartender named Anastasia spent more time policing where girls were sitting and acting territorial over the boys, than actually doing her job professionally. My friends and I were ignored on multiple occasions while watching her happily serve everyone else around us, then tonight got told we "couldn't be" in a room with our own friends. We literally walked in for two seconds to say hi, not even intending to order drinks through her and got treated like we were committing a felony. The craziest part was watching a grown bartender run around talking about customers instead of actually bartending. If the energy spent gossiping and targeting certain people went into actual service, maybe this place would have something besides $2 drinks going for it. Never been somewhere that felt so unnecessarily immature, and uncomfortable. There are plenty of bars in Erie where the staff acts like adults. This just isn't one of them.

The Zone, how do I put this? I had fun. That could sum it all up and I could leave it at that,…read morebut I won't. The Zone sits in a strip mall on the outer rim of downtown Erie. In all honesty if you were not looking for this, you would not find it. Walking in it feels like you might be out of place. I kept looking around when I was in here to figure out what exactly was I standing in. It felt familiar, but yet not so much. Until my one friend said that it is like a Ponderosa was turned into a gay club. I think that hits it on the nail. It feels like it was a steakhouse at some point, whether or not it was truly a Ponderosa I can't be sure. But it does have that feel of some type of either buffet or family restaurant that was taken over by rainbows and turned into a dance club. It is kind of vibrant in here. We showed up on a Friday night which is their drag show night. Cover at the door and you walk in and it feels like it is super quiet, that is until you get out of the small corridor. We walked right up to the bar and ordered our drinks. Note: this is a cash only bar, so have some cash with you or hit up an ATM on your way here. The bartenders were amazing and handled the surge of customers throughout the night. Since there was a drag show happening we did not get to participate in any dancing and thus we did not move far from the bar area. That was alright by us, we actually got to see a lot of the ins and outs of this place by just sitting there. There is food available, not sure when the kitchen closes, but they do have menus and you can order throughout the night. On drag nights the bar gets hit at odd times with a surge of customers wanting a refill on their drinks. I might suggest you get two and wait for the crowd to dwindle. To me the mixed drinks felt a little on the small side, but they did the deed. I stuck with a margarita the whole night and it seemed like most people in here did not know what a margarita was. For a strip mall gay club, I definitely have had my ups and downs. But this one was an up, we enjoyed ourselves. As for the reviewer that said this is the "trashiest gay bar" they have ever been to in their life and begs to say that those that read the review "can't tell me they disagree." I disagree, I have been to some trashy gay bars and this does not hold a candle to them. Not a dis, just an observation.
