Hot and sour soup
Janice S.

New buffet on Navy blvd. I am unsure why the Chinese buffets cook their chicken to death. Really tough. The hot and sour soup is good. The chicken wings are good. Most dishes are drowning in sauces. I did like the sushi. Very fresh. The mussels were also good. Lo mien was decent. It's ok. Not great. It's just ok. Service was good. They cleared plates quickly.

First, I saw several instances of cross contamination at the buffet by the staff. Ambiance - ok. Not really decorated. The sushi was displayed well. It looked inviting just not much of a selection. Very clean. They immediately cleaned up spills on the floor and the tables were kept bussed Service - not really there. You pay when you enter and then the server for the area gets your drink and busses the tables. Food - I tried the sushi first. It was generic. Nothing special. The wasabi was good and I don't think it was just horseradish with greens blended in. I tried the oysters in black bean sauce. It was good. The pepper chicken wasn't. That spicy. One thing I noticed, there were lots of older people there. I think the price brings them.

We ate here today and unfortunately found an old fortune-cookie paper floating in one of our drinks. I understand that things can occasionally get missed, but finding something like that in a drink was really unsettling and made us question how thoroughly the cups and dishes are being cleaned. We brought it to the staff's attention, but I wanted to mention it because it's definitely something the restaurant should look into. I'm currently pregnant and was freaked out about it. They removed one drink from our bill and apologized but we probably won't be brave enough to try them again.

My wife and I have been eating at fine establishments for over 35 years. Everything from a great $3…read morehot dog to $220 Wagyu center-cut tenderloin and everything in between. After reading some of these poor reviews posted for 86 Forks, it comes to my attention. Why would anyone finish their meal, pay for it, and then take the time to go online to post a bad review? Why not take the time before hand to ask what a certain dish or meal is - its flavor profile, spice(s), heat, etc.? We did ask the chef and she was more than happy to take the time to explain the dish's concept and let us taste prior to ordering. Read all the good and the bad reviews and ask yourself: 1. If unhappy with the dish, why clear your plate? 2. If not completely satisfied, why pay the bill? Why? Because it's simply not true. People like this are never going to be satisfied or happy. Never. Try 86 Forks for yourselves. Don't be afraid to ask the servers or better yet, ask the chef to explain the concept or allow you to taste something if you're unsure. Be adventurous and make up your own mind - you will not be disappointed. Please remember, this is not a Chinese, Japanese, Korean, Philippine, Italian, Mexican, etc. restaurant. Rather it is a fusion of the best flavors, spices, food pairings, and textures from all these cultures presented in a creative and distinct manner. Recommend the Bulgogi Egg Rolls and the Miso Cream Gnocchi & Edamame.

Will not be returning and a highly recommend you go elsewhere downtown. 1. Spare pork Ribs were frozen in the center. Opinion: They clearly heat up pre-cooked from the freezer. Sauce was phenomenal on these, if they are cooked thoroughly next time this could be an excellent appetizer. 2. Side of Bok Choy was also frozen in the center of the largest piece. Opinion: Heated from frozen and precooked. 3. Chicken Kung Pao Fried Rice was soggy, had zero flavor and was overwhelmingly salted. I would have preferred a 3.99 rice bowl from the freezer aisle in Publix over this garbage. 4. Pensacola Spritz cocktail was almost entirely sugar and tasted like a Shirley temple. Server was nice and ambiance was fine. Utter shame this slop steals business from local businesses that put in a respectable effort. (Comments above are opinions only based on a in person visit June 2026 and should not be taken as statements of fact. I have no way of knowing if the food is cooked from frozen. )

Kalbi Ichiban - Spicy Korean Wings

Here is the completed review with your additional details incorporated:…read more I recently visited **Kalbi Ichiban** in Pensacola, Florida, located in the area of town where I grew up. It was good to return to familiar surroundings and find a restaurant offering a different dining experience. The interior is attractive, clean, and inviting. The restaurant also offers Korean barbecue, with tabletop grills built into several booths. It is a nice option for families, groups, or anyone interested in a more interactive meal. I went specifically looking for authentic Korean food. Having experienced Bulgogi while serving in Korea, it quickly became one of my favorite dishes. Most chain restaurants do not do the dish particularly well, so I decided to give Kalbi Ichiban's version a try. My waiter, **Carson**, was attentive, friendly, and provided excellent service throughout the meal. He checked on me regularly without being intrusive and made the overall experience even better. Carson receives five stars from me. The meal came with Bulgogi, rice, and a choice of soup or salad. I selected fried rice and started with the hot and sour soup. I also ordered a side of kimchi because, in my opinion, a Korean meal is not complete without it. The hot and sour soup was excellent. It had great flavor, was well prepared, and was easily one of the highlights of the meal. The fried rice was good, although nothing about it particularly stood out. The Bulgogi was tender and very flavorful, but it was wetter than traditional Bulgogi. Authentic Bulgogi is normally much drier, with the marinade cooked into the meat rather than leaving it with a gravy-like consistency. Even with that difference, the flavor was enjoyable. The kimchi was also very good and added the right touch to the meal. Interestingly, the hot and sour soup was spicier than the kimchi. However, different regions of Korea prepare kimchi in different ways, so the level of heat and flavor can vary considerably. Overall, I was pleased with the meal and would rate the food **8.5 out of 10**. After adding a couple of cocktails, I was also pleasantly surprised by how reasonable the final bill was. I would rate the restaurant **two dollar signs out of five for price**, making it a good value for the quality of the food, service, and atmosphere. Kalbi Ichiban may not serve Bulgogi exactly as I remember it from Korea, but it delivered a flavorful and satisfying meal. Combined with Carson's excellent service, the inviting atmosphere, and reasonable prices, it was an enjoyable dining experience and a restaurant I would visit again.

Baby, this place is a 10 out of 10 -- HIGHLY recommend!…read more I'm from New Orleans, so let me tell you... I wasn't expecting these crabs to be as good as New Orleans crabs. But BABY, these crabs are definitely something you need to try! ‍ And Hannah? 10 out of 10! Amazing customer service. She recommended the cucumber drink, and it was DELICIOUS! I've been eyeballing this restaurant for a while, and I finally decided to come -- and this was actually my third time here! That should tell you something. If y'all are in Pensacola, Florida, please stop by this restaurant and give them a try. I'm in heaven every time I'm here. Please note you have to call to make reservations. We booked a late reservation out on the front patio. The neighborhood is quite charming. I enjoyed one of the signature cocktails and watched the world go by. The wine and cocktail list are well curated pairing well with a sushi date or the seafood menu. Thomas was our server for the evening. He was professional and friendly. He made excellent suggestions which made for an enjoyable experience. Dharma offers an extensive sushi menu. They have the standard fare along with some specialty rolls. The standard sushi appetizers including miso soup and edamame, along with ginger salad and seaweed salad. The appetizer list is an eclectic mix of delicious dishes. We opted for the pork belly and this was quite possibly the most interesting interpretation I've ever had. Rich tender pork belly served in a ginger coconut sauce. It was absolutely delicious. For mains the catch of the day was Cobia. This was my first time eating this particular fish. I went with the semolina crusted with basmati rice and creamed spinach. The fish was meaty, flaky, and tender. The rice had an essence of coconut and the spinach was perfectly cooked. The cheeseburger was also very good. A thick juicy patty on a hearty brioche bun. The meal was lovely, the service warm and hospitable, and the ambiance was relaxing. I couldn't have asked for a more perfect summer evening.
