I got up EARLY to get there because I knew it would likely be busy. I arrived at 6:30 and waited in my car because it was raining. As it got closer to 7:00, I decided to wait with the other ladies (there were about 7 others). When I got inside, I showed them what I wanted which was a box braid style but with cornrows in the front. They told me that they couldn't do it because they don't do cornrows. I asked what can they do and they said box braids, knotless, boho and twists. I would like to start by saying that the salon is very clean, and its aesthetic is basic yet classy. You can either walk in for an appointment or book by calling the shop. They do require a deposit of $100. Once you are seated in the braiding chair, they will ask for the remaining balance before starting your hair. While the staff may come off as somewhat distant, I had the pleasure of working with Martha and Joy for my butt-length box braids. They turned out very neat, and the parts are nice. However, I should mention that they are a bit heavy-handed, which is something to keep in mind for those with tender scalps. read more

So , this is my third visit and I wanted to wait to make sure the service was consistent, and it has been love them. I walk pay in pay for the type braid I want, and the first time was small knotless , second time medium box braids . Now this third time small box braids and they always come out perfect. I just went there very early this morning and a lot of things ha changed. First of all, they don't provide you with any braid hair anymore, you have to bring your own. Second of all, this little tidbit of information isn't in my of their platforms that I have seen. Instead of the lady at the front desk telling me this, she just chose to point at the beauty supply store and kept repeating they don't open til 9. Mind you, she didn't hesitate swiping my card for the price and telling me to have a seat in the front where no one's doing my hair. Last of all, the main reason I will never return is the big feet receptionist in the front. She has a terrible attitude and thinks she can say whatever she feels. They are pretty interesting upon entry, you are approached and ask what you want done and provided a total and directed to a chair. They don't send anyone to start on you until you pay upfront cash (I suggest cash unless you want to pay fees). I felt uncomfortable because of this CASH PREFERRED plastering notice it's like a big PICK ME STRANGER DANGER sign to me. Ok now to the hair, they did their thing as I've paid more than twice the amount I paid here to have less braids and to sit more than 10hrs. I arrived close to 10am and was done by 3, I could've been done sooner but they like to move braiders around and the initial braider had almost half my head done in one hours before the second braided joined her and she was pulled to join someone else on another head as she was super fast and neat. The new lady was mad slow but was neat and gentle so I can't complain. They take a lot and the last person I had was chatty & liked to stop to talk mid braid I had to tell her about the art of multi-tasking.. Braids ARE not $100 for knotless unless you getting jumbo. This is a place where you have to take the bitter with the sweet. You have to be prepared to pay for the service up front, which I am not a fan of. The cost is relatively reasonable for what you get. We got medium knotless. Cost $200, plus the cost of the hair since they only provide jet black... didn't like that either. Unfortunately, while we were there, two workers were about to fight! Very unprofessional- especially in front of my daughter and the two kids sitting on either side of her. Now to the work... the braids turned out beautiful and they finished in about 4.5 hours, which is awesome for how thick my daughter's hair is. I've been to this shop twice as a walk-in, both days were during the week. If you go on the weekend go SUPER early! I'm new to braids and my first experience was great. Back length box braids the first time (3/21/25) was $250 and they provided the hair. The second appointment (5/15/25) I got medium box bohemian braids because my natural hair is short for $200. I had to buy a pack of braiding hair but that was only $5.99. Both times I was in before 8am and out by 2pm. The shop is clean, the braiders are kind and it's drama free. Been going here since they open, some know what they're doing and some don't. When u ask for corrections you're met with so much push back it damn near feel like it's your fault. I don't appreciate the fact that after I paid $220 and asked for my hair to be fixed the workers had bad attitudes AND the owner TOLD ME I was getting box braids next time.... I had a weird conversation about my hair and how thick it was with the lady who was doing it. Not even 2 weeks later my scalp is completely iratated, flaking horribly. I carefully took my braids down and try to wash my scalp Often used shampoo but as soon as the water touched my hair it was everywhere and my hair was coming out in giant clumps. I have been a customer here for over 2 years now and I normally really love the service but not my last time. My braider who did the back of my hair was super slow and I got it done about two weeks ago and it's already coming down in the back. I'm normally charge $160 when I bring my own hair but this time she charged me $185. As seen in the pictures, they were taken at two different times but the styles were the same, the hair was the same but just another color. I was charged more for bigger braids when I wanted the smaller braids like I normally get. I still like the service of the company but it may be a while before I come back and that braider I do not want on my head again. First of all, I don't know why this place is called $100 Braids because you will spend way more than $100. I called to make an appointment for medium/large goddess knotless braids. They told me I had to bring my own hair, which I'd never done before so I asked them what I should buy. They told me what hair to buy just for the braids, but not for the goddess part of the braids. So I knew I wasn't getting goddess knotless braids, but I still wanted the medium/large size. During my call, I also asked them if they could take out my sew-in and wash my hair, and they said they could. Whenever I arrived for my appointment, I was seated immediately, and they began taking out my sew-in. No amount of Advil could have prepared me for the pain I endured for the next 7 hours. They detangled my 4C hair with their fingers after taking out my sew-in. When it came to washing my hair, the shampoo part was fine, but they barely let the conditioner sit. When it came to "blow drying" my hair, they used a brush for straight hair to attempt to detangle my hair. I told them many times to stop using their fingers through my curls as it causes breakage, but the only other option was a regular old brush that would just cause even more breakage. Since they didn't detangle my hair completely, it was still very much natural. They started to braid my hair, and I have never been in more pain. Whenever my hair was fully dried, it was even worse to deal with. Then, they decided to use a Revlon dryer hairbrush on my dry curls, and they just yanked it through it. They honestly had no consideration for natural hair, even though they have natural hair themselves. Also, I don't understand how the size I wanted was never translated after repeating myself so many times because I definitely received small knotless braids. They are receiving at least two stars because I am satisfied with the way my braids turned out even though it wasn't what I asked for. I am honestly scared for the damage that has happened to my natural hair, and I hope I still have edges after these braids. read more

If I could give a negative star I would. First of all, do not let the name fool you. I could not find much on their menu of services that were actually $100. Secondly, they are so unprofessional. What is the purpose of having an appointment time if you aren't going to honor it and just keep taking walk-ins? I went to this place off of a referral for quick, cheap service. This was neither. For typical box braids, the cost will be about $180. Although I was assured 2 people would work on my daughter's hair and that it would take 3-4 hours, it took about 6 hours!!! I've been going to this braid salon fo about 1.5 years. I like the way they braid my hair, but they can be unprofessional at times. I can tell they don't like to braid natural hair. Whenever I get Senegalese Twist, they alwAys try and talk me into getting box braids. Ann ( the Ethiopian girl) complained about doing my hair because it was too thick. I am visiting dallas and 100 braids was recommend to me from a gal at the store. I called to make an appt, super easy and quick to get in. When i got here Mary and Awa helped me choose the best style braids and color all staying within my budget. Getting braids in takes quite a long time, but they both worked hard and fast all the while all the patrons and employees chatting away like a beauty shop should be. Wish I came to yelp before I went to this salon. I made an appointment to have micro braids and I received the pricing over the phone at $160-180. Being that I do not carry that type of cash for safety reasons, I stopped and picked up $180. Once I got there, the drama started! Started on my hair late, two were suppose to work on my braids but that did not happened, and Ann (young Ethiopian girl) had an attitude. She was complaining about doing my hair. From that point on, I should have left like I told them I would if she had a problem doing my hair. Next, the other young ladies were making suggests for me to switch from micros to box braids. I made it very clear that I confirmed over the phone the price for micros was $180 and that is all the cash I had. Well, since they convinced me that they can do the box braids for $180, I agreed. I asked Ann several times about switching from micros to box braid would be price the same at $180. She answered yes on the several times I asked. At the ending of my braiding, I paid my $180. Ann went into the "bait and switch" mode. She told me that I shorted her money. My attitude became very obvious. Customers come in asking the same questions regarding price and there are those who mindset are on what they want to make versus listening to the customer. Needless to say, Ann was left disappointed and paid only $180. She is young, immature and need a lesson in business. I am writing this review, so people are aware of the unprofessionalism I and my daughter experienced today. I have been to the shop a few times before today, so it was not a big deal to go back. In fact, I liked the shop, and I was going to treat my daughter this time. The lady who did both our hair stayed on her phone and had an attitude the whole time our hair. She had the gold wig on and did not say what her name was at all. In fact, all she did was talk about the other employees that worked in the shop. A young Spanish lady came in asking for corn rows and they told her 180 because they did want to do it. when she said she will be back Friday they laughed and said if she pays and that I will do it. The gold hair lady asked for my money because the older lady who was doing my hair was leaving. I gave her the 180 which was the price because we brought our own hair. I didn't give a tip yet because I only tip after the job was done. When they thought, I was not going to tip the attitude became real. When I was done, she did not want to put any oil in my hair, and she did not style it or even say thank you. Every time I have been to this shop I have always tipped, and I tip well. A little unprofessional when it comes to keeping appointment times, but they do good work and they finished pretty quickly

I wanted to give a new review due to a new experience, which lead to a downgrade in my review! I wanted to do a follow-up, so that everyone can benefit from my experience with the salon. I went back to get my Senegalese twist and first let me say that if you want to have a better experience you may want to do what I did, and that is to call them before your appointment to make sure that they are on time so that you're not sitting there waiting, secondly make sure you have a experience braider. When I got here at my appointment time after calling and making sure that I would be seen in a timely manner, I still waited 45 minutes, one of the braiders started on the back of my hair, and I think she was not as experience because it took her a long time, but then a more experienced braider came and did the front which didn't take her as long, but 6 hours later my hair was done. The more experienced braider that did my hair apologize profusely and said that normally it would take about three-and-a-half to four hours and she was very sorry that next time it won't take as long. Also, the less experienced braider was worried because my hair was natural, and I always get braids with my hair natural, and that was very concerning. After this experience I must say my hair did come out looking good again. This is my third visit and I haven't had any complaints about my hair until now, after day two I had 5 twist come down, and I had to retwist them, now week two half of them have slipped, now I have to get my hair redone in a week. I think because my normal braiders are there anymore, I am going to try Bithia Braiding Salon, wish me luck!! Ugh read more

BUYER BEWARE! This will be long because I'm pissed about not only the poor service I received but the insulting treatment by this salon. I got Senegalese twists done Sunday 7/14/2013 and at first glance and from far off, they're okay. But many are frayed looking where the braider didn't make much attempt to trim, and some are loose and one has even come totally a part...that was the one I could see. Now the ones that are done properly look great The problem is there were so many that were loose, or jagged and I don't see them lasting the standard two months, if that. If it were only one or two, I'd be okay. But I paid $180 and numerous are not neat. The WORST part is when I expressed my grievances to the owner, she said they are beautiful and my experience was normal. The actual braiders in the salon however, were silent when I asked them the same question. When I looked at the owner's own hair that were older than my own by at least 2 months judging by her new growth, but didn't even look as worn as mine, her reply was that hers were $350?? They were smaller than mine, but the same length...NOWHERE does her site advise that price determines QUALITY!! And for $180 I should've gotten better than my braids looking ragged and coming a part after 72 hours. The owner was only willing to fix the twist that had completely come a part, and TWO others. She flat out stated that she wasn't going to go back and fix a lot of them...bc I was searching for problems??? If there were no problems to find, then there would be nothing to fix right?!! The owner is a sleaze. Even more RIDICULOUS, when I began questioning the owner more, about whether or not the way my hair was looking was normal or standard, bc I have never worn Senegalese, she would never answer a question directly, pausing when I compared mine to her own, and then THREATENING TO CALL SECURITY!!! MIND YOU, SHE HAD NOT EVEN ASKED ME TO LEAVE!!! She wasput on the spot, and nervous because she knew the service I had received was not up to par, but she wasn't willing to have to pay one of the braiders to spend more time to fix it, so she began cowering. The salon has great photos on their FB page, and even when I compared the photos that lured me in to what I received, her EXACT words, were photos can sometimes be deceiving!!!! I realized many of the reviews I read are from 3 months and older and they monitor what stays on their site. Unfortunately, I missed a post by a young lady under the recommendations on their Facebook page who was actually complaining that her 2 week old Micros are already slipping out! Had I seen her post before I went, I would have contacted her before scheduling. As I stated, the twists in my hair that are not frayed or coming apart are very pretty. But there are SO many that are bad, I know that the $180 I spent will not take me further than a month. My hair does not look like I just got it done 3 days ago and definitely not like I paid what I did. Yeah, these braids fit the name of the business, definitely $100 not $180. DO NOT GO TO THIS BRAID SALON. When they mess up, the owner will not honor the work, so you're playing Russian Roulette, depending on who's braiding and whether or not they are in a rush.
