I don't care about sports, and I never studied the great Toledo war. As far as I can tell, we got the UP so even if Ohio won, I figure we still came out ahead? Like I said, I never took a midwest social studies course. In all seriousness, I don't know what is more responsible for bringing me back to Westside Bowl over and over again. It's a pretty close tie between the Brier Hill Pizza and the pinball. Pinball and pizza are two of my favorite things. Plus I love peppers and frankly I'm a big old fan of the Basilicata region in Italy, which incidentally is reported to be the cultural underpinning of Brier Hill Pizza. But that's neither here nor there. I also am a big fan of interesting regional beers. Westside Bowl has those covered, but I'm usually stopping in on a roadtrip and now that I'm old, one beer makes me really really sleepy. So sadly, I usually just look with wistful eyes at the beer list. Fortunately I can console myself with pinball. There's a good selection of machines, and many of them play quite well. The staff has always been lovely. I appreciate the queer friendly signage visible from the very large parking lot. The stage for shows looks freaking awesome. And there is real honest to goodness bowling. Not this gussied up let's-put-big-ass-tv-screens-over-the-lanes-for-the-add-set bowling. I don't know who put all of these things together into one old building, but whoever they are, they should be awarded a Nobel prize. It's flipping genius. The locals of Youngstown are fortunate to have a place like this. I hope the appreciate it and understand just how lucky they are. If only the kitchen staff could work on making a dynamite sauerkraut ball, I woudln't be tempted to skip Youngstown for an occasional dalliance to Akron. And for that matter, perhaps they might consider dialing in a cold cheese pizza, to keep me from visits to the Ohio valley.

We are the losing teams, so guess the parent who booked this place wanted to cheer the team, like a superdrome, and you can play Bowling! Game was certainly fun, kids had a blast, they also enjoyed the arcade. But When ordering food, don't be fooled by the "boneless wing", they are the overpriced chicken nuggets. When paying for $4-5 for the fries, I would hope we got extra large compared to the McDonalds. Pizza looks and tastes ok, the staff really tried.

DONT you dare bring in wet shoes. they clearly put this sign up due to our yelp reviewing predecessors. we love that they are learning and adapting. this extra star is well deserved. unfazed by the this litany of warnings, we pressed on. we were greeted swiftly by whom we can only presume is the owner of this fine establishment. despite the slew of warnings we heard about the man, we humbly brag that our experience of him was aggressively mediocre. the bowling also was aggressively mediocre. this may or may not have been our fault. we are wildly untalented. we wish we could say the bowling animations were top tier. they were not. they were simply tier. unfortunately we did not unlock the strike animation in the duration of our time here. the user interface was acceptable and we were able to fit the name "utterlyaghast" into the board, a fun nod to our fellow yelp reviews. all in all, in the midst of our grief, and in spite of the horrors, we did manage to find sweet solace at bowl-o-drome. these two stars were well deserved. you are welcome, bowl-o-drome. we know you need this. ps, dear friends. 1. if you wear a size 9 shoe, don't. 2. be on the lookout for some cheeks. these bowling animations do be wildin.

We bowled here last weekend and it was just a mess. The monitors above where you see and others can see how well or what your score was wasn't even turned on, neither of them. And then on our lane, every time you bowled the first time, the second time your ball would be stuck and you would have to use another persons ball to get yours back up on the rack. Then when it wasn't doing that, it keep reseting the pins full 10, instead of just the ones you didn't knock down. Looks and smells the same as all the other old bowling areas, but the munchkin had fun bowling, thats all the matters at the end of the day.
