I would like to give VOIP at least 10 stars. My big regret is that I didn't discover them sooner. For the last 4 years I've been dealing with probably the worst phone service on the planet.. and not to name names; but their initials are S.T. Everything from their customer service to their phone service was abysmal. For unknown reasons they did everything they could to stop me from porting my phone number to 1-VoIP. It was a two week struggle, but the amazing people at 1-VoIP worked with me to make it happen. I could not be more impressed with the people at 1-VoIP. Justin, Markus, Luke and Gabriel are a few of the incredible agents that have helped to make this change go as smoothly as possible. Their customer service is absolutely 10 stars. I picked their Value plan for LESS THAN HALF of what I paid for S.T. The clarity on my phone now is 1000% better and the (free) optional features for your phone line are the icing on the cake. They have 17 listed features that I've only begun to focus on.. for example: call screening, call filter, do not disturb, spam filter, anonymous call reject, call forwarding, call waiting, even a wakeup call if you want. I've been using 1-VoIP for well over five years now and have been mostly happy with them. Sure, there are occasional technical issues, but I've always felt that their technical support people were knowledgeable and caring, a rarity in this business. In terms of features, 1-VoIP is the only provider to my knowledge that offers two free virtual numbers with some of their plans, and to me that was the clincher. I'm on their Premier Global Residential Plan and I think the value is unbeatable and the reliability excellent (although not faultless). Furthermore, I live in Canada and initially needed a number in the 613 area code, then more recently in the 418 area code, which they both offer. Many US-based providers do not pay much attention to Canada, which is not the case with these guys, thankfully. I used to be with Vonage (although that was nearly 10 years ago now) and have been way happier with 1-VoIP. It's like dealing with a mom & pop operation: no need to navigate through a complicated telephone menu, as the norm here is for someone to directly answer your call rather than a recording, so you get much more personalized service and, as I like to repeat over and over, their staff really cares. There is no issue I experienced with my phone line that we were not able to quickly fix together - they follow up on calls and emails and really work with you to solve any problem that arises. This service is so easy to use and there is real support, not the low bid of the week third world support one finds at their competition. Pricing is excellent and the service is never down. TERRIBLE. STAY AWAY. Was switched to more expensive plan. not by me. no offer to switch it back etc.to value plan at $8.97/mo. offer. Told to go a website and fix my modem myself to even get this voip up and running... REALLY? didn't have this problem with my old phone. don't need to learn all about modems thanks. NOT MY PROBLEM. my doctors office couldn't call my home phone, was told its their phones problem. we're on SS and retired, so this is important. actually was at my Doctors office and called home to witness this myself. terrible response. WRONG AGAIN. my doctor could call before and after VOIP. just not with voip. had this problem with my sister in Florida as well. repeatedly had calls dropped. just gone. hung up in the middle of talking. at times, i had NO PHONE SERVICE AT ALL. NOT ACCEPTABLE for an older retired couple. STAY AWAY. read more

This is my first use of voice over internet, and so far-I've only had it a couple of weeks-it has been wonderful. Quality-wise, there is no difference between this and standard phone service. I ordered the value plan ($8.97/mo) which provides for unlimited incoming and 500 minutes outgoing/month, which is more than I will ever use-even if I didn't also have a cell phone. I ordered the box needed off ebay-which wasn't the smartest thing to do. 1Voip sends them out pre-programmed, and I didn't realize the difference until I set up service. It took over an hour on the phone w/a very patient tech to do it-sitting at my laptop and entering a lot of codes to manually program it. Once done, I have perfect, and very inexpensive phone service-with no contract. read more

I have previously used Vonage, Phone Power, and Voipo. I have now used 1-Voip for 7 months. It has been an excellent experience and by far the best of the four carriers I've used so far. First, call quality has been superb. No static, no lag, calls do not get dropped, etc. Customer service equally impressive. I've only had minor questions and each time a rep picked up the call immediately. Cost-wise they are not the least expensive, and feature-wise, I don't think you can beat Voipo, however, the #1 priority for me was call quaity. There are times when I don't want to use my cell phone because I want a clear conversation and no fear of getting cut off/dropped. For that reason, I'm willing to pay a little more. Disappointed with my experience due to technical support. Service was working for just shy of three months. We lost service today, both internet and VoIP. My IT professional checked out why and pulled the 1-VoIP provided equipment from the local network and service restored. This was the same person who installed it when service was first contracted. I called 1-VoIP to get a replacement and the hassle was not worth it. Cancelled service. I would NOT recommend this company. read more
