IMPORTANT: Please read before choosing this program.
I rarely write reviews. But when I do, they're worth a read.
First, I'd have to say that choosing 1 Method was easy. When I spoke to the program they were helpful, professional, and almost to good to be true. The program checked all the boxes I was interested in, but I maintained healthy reservations because I have been oversold before. I'm happy to report that overall that is not the case with 1 Method. What they promised they delivered (Again, for the most part. Read on for more on that.) I know this is an area to be careful in because I attended a program in Malibu before 1 Method. I had chosen it because it was the most expensive, and I thought it would be the best based on cost. That is definitely NOT the way to choose a program. That Malibu center, which shall remained unnamed, was utterly horrible and delivered virtually none of the services they promised during the intake process. So five stars for 1 Method delivering on their promises.
Second, the clinical support. This is an area that I had prior experience in so I feel I know the difference between a good clinical experience and a bad one. On this topic I'll say that overall the program was exceptional. In fact, if there is one area I'd say this program thrives, it's the clinical. They do a lot of 1 on 1 and it's very targeted to specific needs. For example, I was suffering from depression and OCD. My treatment plan was entirely different than my roommates, who was attending for other reasons. So they definitely delivered when it came to the individualized care. I was assigned a therapist, a case manager, a psychiatrist, a medical doctor, a yoga instructor, a personal trainer, a breathwork specialist, a chiropractor, and a few other people that to be honest, I don't remember exactly what they did. You WILL have a team of people working with you, be prepared for it. As much as that sounds great, each will be asking you to do work in specific areas. So everyday is filled with clinical activities, except for Saturday and Sunday. That means that you will be attending a lot of sessions. So in short, if you're looking for a cruise ship and don't really want to get better, do NOT go to 1 Method. They will require you to participate in a lot of sessions. That said, I wanted to make some significant changes and I appreciated the 1 on 1 attention and individuation.
Third, the ENVIRONMENT!!! This is CRITICAL. Do not attend a program just based on a plus or minus aesthetic but definitely know ahead of time 1 Method is very nice. I found that to be paramount. During my stay I felt at home and comfortable. They are single and double rooms available. I actually wanted a double room because I got along great with my roommate, but everyone is different on that front. Know ahead of time you will pay more for a private suite. But between us, I don't think a private room is necessary. I found the double to be preferable in terms of size. Also, I'll lump the transportation into the Environment category. Unlike the Malibu program which drove me around in a van (called the druggy buggy btw) I was transported to and from appointments in a suburban or Yukon. That was nice both for confidentiality and comfort.
Finally, I'd like to rate the OVERALL experience with the program. All things considered I would say excellent. The staff is caring and supportive from the top down. The owner Cassidy does a lot of work connecting with clients and the clinical team was incredibly interested in my well-being. I think if the owner is involved that says something about the program as a whole. I definitely never felt like a number. Given my prior experience I'd give 1 Method 5 stars for sure. And I think I would have even if I hadn't seen what a bad program was like.
If you have any questions feel free to hit me up here. In the meantime, if you're considering 1 Method, I'd say it's an incredibly safe bet. All the luck to you and remember, you're gonna get out what you put in. read more
