Other helpful things to keep in mind: Unless you are looking for Spravato or medication requiring blood pressure or other active monitoring, virtual consultations are possible. She has two office admins who are very quick to respond to emails, help with appointments, and prescriptions. If need be, they also speak Korean fluently. Spravato is offered for in person visits and a private room with a reclining chair as well as soft music is provided along with heart rate monitoring. We live in Koreatown, and my son suffers from addiction, Bipolar I disorder, depression, delusions,…read moreand severe suicidal impulses. He has been hospitalized multiple times in psychiatric facilities and has also completed a stay in a rehabilitation center. After finishing his rehab program and returning home, we searched for a nearby psychiatrist and found Dr. Won, whose office had good reviews and was within walking distance. However, when we contacted the office, the reception staff repeatedly told us that we needed to bring either a referral from my son's primary care physician or a letter from his insurance group confirming that, if the group declined payment, we could submit the claim directly to Health Net. My son is covered by Obama Health Net, and his assigned insurance group is Legal Group. To my understanding, psychiatric care does not require a referral from a primary care doctor. Nevertheless, because the office insisted, he contacted both the primary care physician and the insurance group. Both confirmed that Health Net does not require a referral for psychiatric care, nor do they issue any letter or document of the kind the office was requesting. He informed Dr. Won's office of this over the phone, but they showed no understanding or flexibility. They continued to insist on the same requirement and even went so far as to suggest that we change my son's primary care provider in order to obtain the form they wanted. They also said that if we were unable to get a referral but still wanted to see the doctor, we would have to pay $350 upfront, and that they would later reimburse us only if they successfully received payment from Health Net. Just one weeks ago, my son attempted suicide and continues to suffer from severe depression. Despite this difficulty, he made every effort to gather his strength, see his primary doctor, and call the insurance group as requested. It is deeply concerning that the staff at Dr. Won's office seemed unaware of the vulnerable state of the patient they were dealing with. Their focus appeared to be solely on avoiding any potential financial loss, rather than on the well-being of a patient struggling to stay alive. In the end, my son did everything he could to meet their demands, but due to their unreasonable and repeated requests, he ultimately gave up on seeing Dr. Won. After days, he could contact with another psychiatrist, whom he met today. The new psychiatrist did not require a referral -- which aligns with the standard procedure for psychiatric care. Although I have not met Dr. Won personally, it is difficult not to conclude that the reception staff's behavior reflects the overall attitude of the office. Here's the English translation in a clear and professional tone: Although Dr. Won is a young psychiatrist in the community and many patients seek her care -- with some likely benefiting from her treatment -- based on my own experience, it is very sad and distressing to feel that she views patients who are struggling mentally and desperately seeking help merely as a source of income.

I am a 34 year old, sexually active gay man who gets regular STD screenings and work up every 90 days for ongoing medication called Prep (pre-exposure prophylaxis) which prevents the spread and transmission of HIV. My insurance just switched so my 90 days was coming up and I needed to refill my prescription. Additionally, I was having some minor symptoms that coincided with a recent sexual experience related to my backside. When I requested specific STD testing for these symptoms, just in case, Dr. Ramin seemed confused as to why I would have sexual symptoms in my backside. I had to explain that I engage in anal sex, which felt embarrassing and obvious. He then dismissed my concerns without offering another explanation and launches into a lecture on promiscuity, citing prep as an excuse for unsafe behavior. He told me a tangential story about a woman getting pregnant from a one night stand which felt odd and out of nowhere, and used the phrase "just because you have a parachute doesn't mean you should jump out of a plane" and continued to reference my behavior as overly promiscuous. Finally, and most egregiously, he did not give me a rectal swab which is standard practice in every prep panel I've ever taken (been getting tested every 3 months for 6 years - blood sample, urine sample, throat and rectal swabs are all standard). I left with continued symptoms and had to go to the free clinic to get a rectal swab, still uncertain if I had an STD or another explanation. This whole experience made me feel shamed, discriminated against, and was entirely unhelpful for very basic care. Needless to say, I will not be returning to Dr. Ramin.

Jess Hendrick has brought a level of clarity and accountability into my life that I didn't know I…read moreneeded. She cuts through noise quickly and gets right to the heart of what's driving your patterns. Her guidance helped me see where I was giving my power away, where I wasn't leading myself, and how to show up in relationships with strength, presence, and honesty. She doesn't coddle or bypass. She meets you with a steady, grounded energy that invites you to rise to your best. The tools she teaches actually translate into real change, clearer communication, stronger boundaries, and a more stable sense of self. If you're a man who wants to grow, lead, and build relationships with integrity instead of reactivity, Jessica is the type of coach who will challenge you in all the right ways. I highly recommend her work.

When I first met Jess, I was a husband carrying deep and unresolved childhood trauma. I had lived…read moremy entire life with profound abandonment wounds, mother and father wounds, and patterns rooted in abuse and neglect. At that time, my marriage was in serious trouble. Despite years of traditional therapy and self-help work, I was still stuck in the same emotional cycles and reactive behaviors that were damaging both myself and my relationship. This is where working with Jess fundamentally changed my life. (I assure you it's no exaggeration) Through her coaching, I learned how to self-soothe and regulate my nervous system, something I had never been taught or modeled. I learned self-parenting-how to meet my own emotional needs with consistency, compassion, and accountability instead of looking for my partner to fill those gaps. These skills alone created a level of internal stability I had never experienced before. Jess also helped me dramatically improve my communication, especially during difficult conversations and conflicts with my partner. I learned how to engage hard discussion instead of avoiding them or escalating into arguments. I gained the ability to bring up sensitive topics in a way that promotes understanding rather than defensiveness, and learned how to reframe situations neutrally instead of spiraling into blame, resentment, or emotional shutdown. A major part of this work involved facing my childhood trauma directly. Jess guided me through the process of coming to terms with the abuse and neglect I experienced and helped me move toward forgiveness of the transgressors - not as a way to minimize what happened, but as a way to release myself from the emotional burden I had been carrying for decades. Instead of focusing on my partner's perceived shortcomings, I learned how to focus on my own growth and development. Jess introduced proven communication and reflection frameworks - such as the 5 Questions and Resentment Questions - that completely changed how I assess challenging situations. These tools taught me how to slow down, take responsibility, and do the deep inner work required for lasting change rather than repeating the same toxic patterns. Through this process, I learned how to participate in a deeper level of emotional connection and intimacy with my partner. I stopped viewing my relationship through a transactional lens and let go of score-keeping unspoken expectations, and conditional behaviors. Instead, I learned how to set both of us up for success by developing healthier expectations for myself, my partner, and our relationship as a whole. For those who may be skeptical - I was a well when I first met Jess - I can confidently say that her (sometimes unconventional) methods are extremely effective at breaking the harmful and deeply ingrained patterns that govern many of our lives and relationships. Most people who seek this kind of help are searching for a drastic change for the better. I had tried numerous traditional therapy and self-help programs, and none came close to what Jess offers. They simply did not go deep enough, nor were they equipped to provide the level of insight and guidance required for true transformation. For anyone who is SERIOUS about making a real and lasting change, Jess is the ONLY person I would recommend. The one caveat is that this work requires commitment. There is significant effort involved, and without dedication, it will not work. But if you are willing to show up and do the work, the results are profound. I have been working with jess for over a year now and have experienced major breakthroughs in both my personal life and my marriage. I genuinely feel liberated from the internal demons that once controlled my reaction, behaviors, and relationships. If cost is a concern, that is understandable - but I can confidently say her program is worth every penny. Thank you for taking the time to read my review. I've written in such detail because it reflects how deeply and profoundly Jess's coaching has impacted my life and how eager I am to share this invaluable resource with my fellow survivors of trauma. If you're reading this and recognize yourself in any part of my story, know that change is possible - even if it doesn't feel that way right now. You don't have to have everything figured out, and you don't need to be "ready" in some perfect way. You only need the willingness to take the first step and show up honestly. If - like me - you're tired of repeating the same patterns and are ready to begin your journey that actually creates lasting change, I can't think of a better guide than Jess.

Review of WAISMANN METHOD® Opioid Treatment & Rapid Detox…read more RH Richard Hellstrom 1 review US A freedom I never thought possible So it's been one year since my time at Domus. In that year, I've dealt with sorrow, trauma and stress that would have normally sent me into a downward spiral of unprecedented opioid use. That hasn't been the case. My desire to use opiates, or, my emotional "Off button" is non existent. I've maintained a level of freedom from an addiction that left me for dead and killed so many that I knew, it's nothing short of miraculous. Detox is rough, in a jail cell going cold turkey or well cared for in the ICU. Best tip I have before going, Titrate how much you're using (as best as you can, be realistic but don't prematurely go into withdrawals) so the procedure isn't so intense physically. Thankfully, after you've recovered from anesthesia and are cleared to leave the ICU, you go to an amazing place. Wonderful staff: Chef's who put Gordon Ramsay to shame, therapy sessions from an amazing Psychologist, medical staff who put up with so much and still provide a level of patient centered care that rivals any facility I've been in, a housekeeping staff who's always smiling when working and the rest of the staff, who hold many titles, do many jobs and deserve much praise for their positive attitudes and hard work. If you're reading this and thinking "man, that's a lot of money!" You're not alone. I did pay cash, and afterwards did a breakdown of services provided and the cost. It's actually reasonable when taking into consideration the hospital stay, meds and your stay at Domus. Plus, can you put a value on being free from opiates? I can't. Not to mention I would have wasted more than that on drugs in one year, possibly died and still been in full blown addiction. My advice? Prepare yourself or your loved one for returning home. Rest is important, this isn't a magic wand that takes away the length of rest needed to be healthy. Not interacting with the people who you were using with is crucial. Say your goodbyes before you leave and don't feel tempted to check on those people now that you feel better. It's not worth being in a risky situation. Aftercare: I have 2 practitioners I see for therapy, aftercare looks different for everyone but it's so important to have a safety net of some kind post treatment. I'll be very blunt about this too: This is a huge waste of money, time and your life if you don't want it. And mean WANT IT. Not "I'm tired of disappointing everyone" not "My parents/significant other are really pushing me to do this" and definitely not "This is some magical cure all that will stop my addiction in it's tracks." Only you know when you're done, and when you are, to me, this is the final piece to the start of a new chapter in your life. I'm so glad I was done. 20+ years of using with 15 of them being solid addiction just wasn't fun anymore. Being 35 at the time, I realized my life wasn't what it could be and certainly isn't what anyone should strive for. So it was time for a change. I found the Waismann method online while looking for diagrams of new injection sites, I was at a point of pure desperation. "Opiates.com? They should have some tips on how I can continue to get high" I thought. How wrong I was and how happy I was to be wrong. I shed a tear to find out that something like this existed, I had no clue. And finally, wow. I'm still here. Still free of the desire to use or associate with those in active addiction. My heart still breaks when I see others struggling, and if I could, I would send everyone to get the help they need at Domus. I hope this can help others weighing the choice of seeking this treatment facility or another, to make the choice that's right for them. I've been to multiple residential inpatient programs, 2 months, 6 months, 13 months, none of them did anything positive for me. So thank you again to everyone involved with the Waismann method (I was at the facility in California) for what you're doing. It's working. Look forward to another yearly update, positive or negative, I'll leave my feedback

Every staff member has a very thorough education in addiction and recovery. I'm talking book knowledge as well as years of (sometimes harrowing, often inspiring) experiences. They have an authentic passion for recovery. And they know what this kind of transformation should look like. The clinical staff at NuView possesses a diverse range of skills. These skill sets include pragmatic things like self-development training, which can help clients get jobs, write resumes, or even just manage their own money better. But they also teach important qualities like emotional intelligence, conflict management, and how to handle not wanting to get out of bed in the morning. These are important skills to learn after someone has stopped using drugs and alcohol. Why? Life gets hard when you can't rely on alcohol or drugs to make it SEEM good. So you need to do the hard work of MAKING your life better. At NuView's outpatient programs, they support and guide you through that process. Much of that involves group therapy and other kinds of counseling, including family therapy and one on one meetings. They locate your weak points and help you create a plan for dealing with them, always making sure you take it one step at a time. They also share their own knowledge with you. They know what addiction is from a medical perspective. And there's no reason why someone with an addiction shouldn't know that as well. Sometimes people don't know why they feel such a strong compulsion to drink or do drugs. The staff at NuView help clients realize that it's not some moral failure - it's a legitimate mental health condition with neurological, emotional, and interpersonal causes. And it can be treated. NuView is especially good at helping people who have a history of relapse or who have struggled with getting sober even after attending other rehabs. This is because they put more personal care into their treatment approaches than most other rehabs. Their treatment plans are generally customized for each individual client. This makes sense, since addiction is a pretty wide category, and it is not the same for everyone. Their outpatient programs provide a holistic approach to addiction. Clients have access to a safe and supportive community. They also get a social network of other people in recovery, so they can all grow together. You won't feel alone even for one minute throughout this process. For family members, they also put on many events and try to include them in the treatment process. Literally everyone gets a chance to heal and to work on themselves. If you're dealing with addiction now or if you just quit, it's time to treat yourself to a clean and sober life that's actually good. Why get sober and be miserable? At NuView, no matter how broken down you are, you WILL experience a transformation. Simple as that.
