I attempted to use 1800-Got-Junk. The 2 guys that came & gave estimate were friendly and were fairly quick giving their estimate & estimate was about what I figured. I called them back a couple days later to return for the job & requested the same guys.("same guys ,can't be done" I was told). Couple more days 2 new guys came for the clean out. One was quiet/friendly. The other, who called days before to chk on the first 2 guys ,telling me he" was the manager", was the 2nd guy arriving . He stumbled to answer me ,when I said "oh yes, your the manager who called the other day"( Later ,I found out he was NOT a manager! hence his stumbling for words in front of his co-worker) In the basement I could hear yelling(he was on the phone w/supervisor). Once off the phone, he began yelling at me(I took it, that he was ticked off w/the 1st estimate ,so I tried to not be upset with his angry, unprofessional & scary tone!).However, he continued w/anger towards me,standing right next to me!(FEARING he'd go nuts on me, I texted my husband to come quickly!) This non manager said in a yelling loud tone, "Those other guys Fu**ed up giving you that estimate!" (So unprofessional!!!) Then he began bullying me,demanding another chk doubled what I was quoted! My husband arrived ,& this "non "manger" cont. his angry tone with my husband! We all went to the basement ,where the got junk angry man continued his angry ,unprofessional rant! In short I told him to leave! & how unprofessional he was with his swearing ,yelling and trying to bully me& lying he was the manager! He cont. screaming at me as he walked backwards to the truck. I finally decided to let him know I could yell too and I tried over his voice to yell ,so that the other worker could now know, the treatment I received from his angry co-worker (nice guy stayed in the basement cleaning, while angry man was on the porch w/me, then my husband! before angry man & husband went into basement). I began taking pics of the truck #, License plate ,driver and when I stepped up in front of the truck, (truck just started engine/not moving) to get a pic of the driver &angry, mean man. The angry man in passenger seat, motioned with hand & verbally to the driver, to drive! If I had not jumped back ,I would have been hit by the front corner of the truck! I called(all calls go to Canada)& filed a complaint! Cpl days passed, conflict resolution man called ,"they fired the first 2 guys for multiple under quotes", but this angry, bully & very unprofessional man ,"was spoken to!" (to keep me quiet I'm sure) ,they would do the job for "just a bit more than quoted." (This angered me even more!) & they would be sure the angry man would not show up. DO NOT HIRE THIS COMPANY! It was so very frightening!, my PTSD flared up for over a week from this horrible man! Again, DO NOT HIRE 1800 GOT JUNK!!! I called another syr co. The husband & Wife team were so very sweet, professional ,cared for things even being thrown out & they were far less than 1 800 got junk! 2nd Co. also honored us by giving us a Military discount! I'll have more clean out needed, and the 2nd CO. will be the one's I call! read more

Once there, they did a quick survey of the items to take, gave me a quote which I thought was reasonable and started loading right away. They very polite and friendly. We used 1-800-Got-Junk to clean out our parent's basement that was filled with 50+ years of tools, supplies and stuff. The on-site folks were awesome. It took three guys five hours to fill two truck loads. They were amazing, polite, hardworking and accommodating. read more

Truck team did not show up for my appointment (12pm-2pm window). Contacted customer service twice, first slightly after 2pm, second one hour thirty minutes later, both times they supposedly made contact with the truck team who stated they would call me in 5 minutes. Never got a call and the team never came. Don't book this company and have your time wasted like I did. My family has used Got Junk four times in the last year; we have been working on clearing out our house (which is over 100 years old, so very narrow doorways but very high ceilings, living room leads directly into a narrow front hall) to make room for furniture from my grandmother's house, which had lovely antiques. This has meant that we have needed some big but still good stuff removed, plus a bunch of just junk like old mattresses, etc. Our first experience was wonderful, courteous, etc., so we used the service again. The second and third time was fine but not fantastic. The fourth time and the reason I am leaving this review, was horrible and frankly traumatic. Two guys came, and the one in charge exhibited an immense level of disrespect for our house and me and my sister, who were the ones home at the time. I do not know if it is due to the neighborhood I live in or that we were two women, but the whole experience made it so we will never use this service again and I will tell everyone I know never to use it either. We needed three good pieces of furniture (an ornate antique organ and two dressers), an old couch, and other junk items. The problems started from the very beginning. There were only two guys, even though we had been very clear when scheduling the items we needed to remove, and the truck was already half full, so there was no way for them to fit all the items we needed removed into that truck. They got two items on the truck and then had to leave to empty the truck; we never received a guarantee that they would actually be back that day which created a lot of anxiety, especially since they had decided to remove the couch through the dining room which also leads to that front hallway instead of through the livingroom which is a wider doorway completely disregarding our advice about how to move furniture in our house in the process. So again, when they left to empty the truck after only taking two items, we had a couch sitting on its side in our dining room. Luckily they did return after about an hour and a half and finally took our advice and got the couch out without taking a sledgehammer to it, which had been the original plan. Even then, for every piece of furniture that was removed, we were worried that they would at any moment damage our house; they were not careful about other items in the home, if they were scraping paint, etc. They also treated every item that went on that truck, whether good furniture or not, as junk, so things that could have been donated were treated exactly the same as the actual junk, and by the time they were finished, everything was junk because things like that ornate organ were smashed to pieces from their lack of care (We picked this service because of their guarantee that they do everything to donate and recycle items). Again my sister and I were left feeling that we were not treated like customers who paid them $700 dollars for this service (watch those fees for heavy items), and instead, we were left feeling like we had been trampled all over, our house and things disrespected and frankly scammed because their guarantees were clearly lies. DO NOT USE GOT JUNK IN SYRACUSE unless you are completely desperate and they are absolutely the only option!!!!!!!!!! read more

I used 1800GotJunk in Syracuse to assist in emptying out my garage and basement. I had everything in piles but it was a lot of little stuff. The two men, Greg and Garon(?), were incredible. Additionally, the gentlemen who I spoke to by phone to setup the appointment was friendly and helpful and made sure I understood how the process would work. I was called 15mins prior to my 2hr window, as promised. I was told an Arrival time of 11:30am. 15 mins before that Greg called to let me know they were on their way, just as I requested from the initial call earlier. Upon arrival, they both introduced themselves and proceeded to assess the needs of what I had to remove. The accurately estimated that I would need 3/4 space in the truck. Once they started, they worked straight through and had everything loaded in just a few minutes of an hour. This would have taken me a whole day to load and haul away somewhere. I couldn't be more satisfied with their service. I was a little nervous to spend the money, but in the end I am so glad I did. I came in from out of town to do some things on my rental property. By using this service it frees me up to take care of other pieces of the house and not stress. I would highly recommend. read more

Staff were super nice but they charged me $250 to take perfectly good furniture (1 couch, 1 coffee table, and 4 chairs) I only had to give up because my boyfriend is moving in with me and we don't have enough room. They did not let me see how they calculated cost and instead they were giggling in the front of the truck for a few minutes before coming back with a quote? Save yourself money and help out someone else, schedule a salvation army pick up in advance or put it up on craigslist for free with enough time to get rid of it before your lease ends. I used 1800GotJunk to remove a very large sectional when I bought new furniture. My home is older and has very small doorways, the guys had to get creative to get the sections out. But, they managed to get it apart and out quite quickly. They arrived on time, and were very polite and friendly. It may have been a little pricey but was well worth the money to not have to deal with the large couch myself. Thanks Greg and partner! I will use this service again in the future! read more
