Ate here twice. Once for a quick lunch (since there weren't many options on property during lunch hours) & breakfast. Lunch was great- good service! Quick, yummy food, & decent pricing. BREAKFAST IS WHAT ILL RAVE ABOUT. So many GREAT options! Probably one of the BEST breakfast buffets I've ever had. Well put together & very efficient set ups. 10/10 will honestly book a room just for that breakfast. & as always, friendly staff!

This is the Breakfast place of this JW resort! We chose to come here for a second partly due to this place. If you are a hardcore Por..I mean meat eater then this is the place for ya. A whole steak cut for you cooked to your fave temp off the buffet. All the food was fresh. The coffee is delicious and fresh. No burnt or old coffee hear!. They can fight with starbucks equally! Service was in YOUR face! Just the way it should be. Felt like I had 3 servers. Maybe it looked like I rolled out of bed half dressed but served like a king! Its expensive but cheaper if you are a Marriott elite! Def recommend here! I will check again tomorrow

Ua is the main restaurant at the JW Marriott resort in Cabo and let me just begin by saying that this resort needs to treat it's loyalty members much, much better. As part of my status with Marriott, I was given complimentary continental breakfast at Ua. My past continental breakfast experiences involved unlimited pastries, eggs, juices, etc... but not here. We were treated like peasants. Even though breakfast here is buffet-style, we were told to take a seat at our table and we would be served ONE piece of pastry (bagel or toast) and ONE drink (orange juice or coffee) and that anything more would be an extra charge. Are you kidding me!? The only reason why I'm giving this place two stars is because dinner isn't terrible. Yes, you're paying resort prices but when you have no other option on property, it tastes delicious.

So convenient to eat here since my work conference was at this location. I actually ate here three times for lunch and never had the same dish twice., except for the ceviche tower. Food was excellent and the service was outstanding. The hostess and servers remembered me after my first visit and they made me feel special.

The staff was delightful & there were lovely views of the pool & the Sea of Cortez.

The JW Marriott Los Cabos Beach Resort & Spa boasts 13 pools located all over the resort and several upscale restaurants. My favorite lunch spot at the resort was on the patio at Úa Culinary Artisans - the staff was delightful & there were lovely views of the pool & the Sea of Cortez. I started off our lunch with a Skinny Margarita. The skinny marg had a lot of flavor & tang to it. Ross enjoyed an ice cold diet coke. For appetizers we had the Guacamole, Jalapeño Poppers & Ceviche Tower. The Guacamole was presented beautifully - it arrived to the table on a wood platter with chips and pico-de-gallo on the side. The guacamole was fresh, creamy and topped with cotija cheese. The Jalapeño Poppers were crisp on the outside with velvety cream cheese on the inside. The Ceviche Tower was made with shrimp, octopus, tuna, mango, cucumber & avocado. This cylindrical Ceviche Tower was bathed in a mouthwatering umami sauce. All of the ingredients were fresh and the smooth texture of the ceviche went well with the crunch from the tortilla chips. For our mains we had the Shrimp Tacos & Mexican Pizza. My favorite lunch bites from Úa were the shrimp tacos. They were loaded with juicy, marinated shrimp that were nicely enveloped in a warm, lightly toasted flour tortilla. The acidity from the marinade & limes were bright on the tongue making the tacos a refreshing summer dish. I added a light layer of guacamole to the tacos to get some creamy texture in. The homemade Mexican pizza featured a spiced black bean spread, generous slices of chorizo & veggie toppings. This pizza was chewy and satisfying - perfect comfort food.

On the evening of my arrival, I had a craving for chips & salsa & guacamole, and Uá lived up to my expectations. I ordered it again from Nak as "lunch" one afternoon at the saltwater pool. For some reasons Mi Cocina here in Plano, TX has told me they don't add salt or anything else to their guacamole to make it suitable for all food restrictions, meaning it's simply mashed avocados, which I can make at home! Hence my craving for real guacamole. I also ordered a delicious margarita pinta (see photo), and have failed to emulate the beautiful salt rim on my own glasses once home. I loved the salmon a la parrilla, and the berry fruit tart for dessert was delicious. This restaurant also has a beautiful view from their patio.

For the first couple of days our food seemed a bit stale but it improved as the week went out. Not sure if this was attributed to the hurricane though. With Marriott status, we had free continental breakfast which included orange juice, coffee, fruit, and two pastries. In comparison to other Marriott properties, this was a disappointing offering. Overall, the breakfast/lunch was decent and the service was great. We tended to get the same server who had our order memorized!

This place actually has some pretty good food and some absolutely spectacular views from the outside seating area. As with nearly everything in this location, the service is outstanding and the food portions are plentiful. Their menu switches nightly but during the day remains rather consistent, consisting of a various assortment of tacos, sandwiches, salads and some nicely done entrees. This place is a bit less formal as there are quite a bit of tourists that frequent here during the day in their swim suits etc... By night, the ambiance is a bit more formalized with nice lighting and the occasional live mariachi to accompany your spectacular views. Pros- Nice menu Casual dining Fantastic service Large portions Great views Fresh tasting Cons- Relatively pricey Buffet is meh

Mini Enchiladas

I stayed at the JW Marriott when I visited San Jose del Cabo and I didn't have any regrets in doing so, especially on the last day of the trip when I decided to try out one of the restaurants at the resort for breakfast. I hate to say that I didn't exactly have high hopes but I was pleasantly surprised afterwards. Very surprised, actually. My friend and I weren't super hungry and just shared three mini enchiladas together which was really good. However, what stole the show (and quite frankly, my heart) was the tres leches cake. Yes, which weirdo eats dessert at 7 AM in the morning before her flight? That would be me! Long story short, I promised myself I would try a tres leches cake before I left México (yes, a promise)! Luckily the hotel had it for breakfast and just wow. Whether it was from the night before or not I honestly didn't care because it was that good. Yes it's $10 but for the amount of dessert they give (three very reasonably sized cakes) and how delicious it was it's a must. Seriously. If you're staying at the JW Marriott it would be such a shame to not get it! 5/5 stars for sure.

Breakfast taco, fruit and yogurt just a touch of your choices for breakfast!

I would have given 5 stars for the breakfast buffet! The service and food was great. Great selection of food and variety. The chefs are there to make anything you desire and the smoothies have so many Choices. The reason for the lower stars was because we had dinner there one evening and I was shocked at how bad it was. How do you get horrible Mexican food in Mexico at a respected resort? So disappointing. Would never go back for dinner.

The best torta de asada custom made for me!

They had plenty of other dishes like fish fillets, shrimp cocktail, salad bar, fruit bar, bread bar, dessert table, etc. Each night has different dishes, so definitely worth checking out! My fave meal with Market Cafe is breakfast, they have an omelette station where I can custom order my egg white vegetarian omelette. The egg white are freshly cracked and separated in front of you and the vegetable also freshly cooked as well. It's delicious and ingredients tastes amazing! They have a waffle and pancake section, charcuterie section, drink section that included 2 kinds of milk and leche de soya, juices, fruits, bread, cereal bar, breakfast potatoes, hash browns cooked with bell peppers and onions (one of my favorite sides), etc. Although they don't have more breakfasty options like egg benedict or quiches. You're best option is to flag someone down rather than wait for your waiter. Its a pretty large place so it can get a little loud.

In terms of comparision, I would safely put La Plaza ahead off the buffet chains in America such as Golden Corral. A good, considerable margin. One thing that I like about La Plaza (as well as room service and most of the restaurants in Hyatt Ziva) is that unlike Stateside, they are not shy in seasoning their food properly. That means is that a non-premium protein can really taste good. Some highlights were their fresh, cook-to-order seafood during dinner. Some bay scallops and and sea bass were perfectly cooked and was yummy. Same goes to their cook-to-order beef selections. I highly suggest their sirloin as it was tender and delicious. For breakfast, I highly suggest their beef soup. It was very delicious and reminiscent to a pozole. Also, try out their selection of smoked seafood as well. Their octopus were thinly sliced and was very good. We were elected not to try the resort's French restaurant as the kids will be left out. So having La Plaza was a great place for all of us to have a good meal at any time of the day.

Depends on what food/ stations you'll go to. I've enjoyed my breakfasts here mainly thanks to the omelette station. The jalapeños!! Yummm. Besides that, everything was a ok for breakfast. I can't eat a full enchiladas or pasta for breakfast. Plenty of cakes, cereals are there though. And champagne. For lunch, similar deal. But they have a grill station. It has all kinds of seafood, fish, meat, chicken etc. I've tried the steak: it's actually quite good! As well as their fish. Add some habanero salsa, it's pretty good. No carbs but still good. The tortilla lady was amazing. We had a whole conversation without her speaking a single word of English and my very bad Spanish! I was able to show her Hawaii and all. Travel connections :) Some of the fresh squeeze juices are amazing but not all. A lot of sugar options though. Lattes are great. Overall, 3 stars food but some really sweet staff made this a 4 stars.

Side dish with the dinner was mashed potatoes and a sweet potato. The meats served included: Flank Steak, Top Sirloin, Chorizo Sausage, Bacon wrapped Turkey Breast, Rib Eye, Filet Mignon, Chicken Wing, Shiskabob,, Pork Loin with parmegian cheese,, Chicken Thigh, Carmelized pineapple. (They also brought some tasty mushrooms with melted parmesan. Seemed I didn't get the chicken thigh or lamb leg, but I sat there and ate everything for an hour because, well, I never get full, but eventually decided it was time to stop. The food did not disappoint. Price about $50 USD. Totally worth it. The only criticism was that the chicken was a bit burned on the outside. I'll be back with friends. Be sure to arrive very hungry like I did, otherwise you might not get to taste everything.

The restaurant was never filled beyond 25% and maybe it was because short staff in kitchen; however later we are told they're slow because of a small kitchen. It was just a mess of disorganization. I've not only worked in the restaurant business but I'm an investor of high fine dining experience. Totally understand mistakes or understanding but this was more than this. There was plenty of waiters and wait staff to handle 20% capacity at time we were there. One of the things we asked from the beginning was bread for the table especially for our child. Anyone knows that when you bring kids that late, you have to get them going quickly. After about an hour, my wife walked over to waiter and asked where was the bread. Waiter did not respond and walked to the kitchen and asked. Either he was a mess or just rude, personally I don't get it. It's an easy job if you are systematic with all the tables. At 1 hr & 15 minutes my daughter got her Margherita pizza which honestly isn't too complicated. They tried to make it up with desert but by that time we were ready to leave. You can't be extra friendly at the end of the meal and yet be no where to be found for 45 minutes. You have to check on your guests as this is a service business which is why you get a tip to reflect the service. For someone use to giving 20% tips, let's just say I couldn't come close which was more disappointing to me as I actually enjoy doing it. There is just too many amazing restaurants to choose from in the area like the Italian Job, Edith's , Romeo & Juliet and omg Lupita around the corner was a great find. The ambience was nice at the restaurant being located against the beach but you can't overcome being neglected the first hour even if kitchen can't handle it. By the way, I've kicked out more food with two chefs with many more guest in a restaurant. Either change the process or the food so you can service your guest properly. Never seen no waiters show their face and act so busy. He should have come first to ask can I get you something while you wait. Then maybe he would have saved himself. Good luck
