Arcade and claw machine games are already difficult enough, but when it feels like the rules change whenever someone is about to win, it's hard to have any confidence in the games or the business. Would not recommend. There are plenty of better ways to spend your time and money in Hong Kong.

Even though the Metroplex was fairly far away, they had an early show of "The Seventh Son" at the VIP theater for $100 with BREAKFAST INCLUDED!! We figured it was a pretty good deal and went to check the place out. It was pretty inconvenient to get to the cinema, the 110 van cost a whopping $9.80 per person and we still had to hike 4 blocks (!!) to get to the place. We should probably have taken a taxi but taxi nowadays no longer seat 5... Arriving just at about the time the movie starts, we didn't have a chance to check out the VIP lounge (!!!), but the 20 seats VIP auditorium did not disappoint. With wide leather seats that can seat someone double my size comfortably, there are buttons which you can use to lower the seat till you are laying almost horizontally! The movie was pretty forgettable though the special effects are good. The breakfast was surprising tasty. Served in a bento box, the western style breakfast I chose came with 2 pieces if hash browns, a surprisingly crispy and delicious mini croissant, scrambled eggs with a piece of ham, a few pieces of fruit, and a beverage. We weren't very hungry by the time we were done so we decided to watch another film, it was "Tak3n". This time it was in a regular theatre, and we were in the regular seats (still leather). I was warned that this place is small, so I know not to expect the two storey high gigantic backdrops I've seen before. The museum is actually not as tiny as I expected, but the backdrops are really small. They should find a building with taller space, and expand the drawings a few feet each way. Right now you have to be very careful not to include the outside area and the spot lights in your photos. Also, the low ceiling means that the light makes the seams between floor and walls more obvious. Another disappointment I have is that there are only a few scenes that are Hong Kong related. Otherwise it's over 90% related to One Piece. For people who are not anime fans, this just isn't very interesting. They seem to change their artworks regularly, many of the photos I saw in the reviews are no longer around. Nonetheless, we still have fun, and there is a nice guy who goes around showing us how to pose (he also snap pictures which hopefully you'll buy from him but there isn't much pressure.) Some scenes posted a sample pics to give you an idea how to post but unfortunately a lot of them don't have one and left us rather clueless as to where we are supposed to stand. The 4 stars here is a bit generous but I do want this place to succeed and improve and see similar businesses opening up. You do need to have friends to go with you. And better some friend who's a perfectionist, instead of just pressing the shutter, to advise you where to stand, how to pose, and don't mind stepping around a bit to get at the perfect angle for the best effect. They changed some of their pictures when I went (for example there wasn't a water wing) but it was still a great experience. They have different sections such as an area for One Piece and another one for HK lifestyle. There's an area where the place gets a bit crowded but I didn't care much for those backdrops so I just skipped ahead. We made two rounds around the place before leaving and it wasn't overwhelmingly long :) Came on a Saturday afternoon too! But...a huge crowd came in right after we left so thank god we left!

They also have some shops, restaurants, and even guided heritage tours for ad additional cost. Otherwise, the place can be explored for free. It is accessible right off the Mid-Levels escalator and timing of the escalator's direction is crucial so that you don't wear yourself out before the exploration itself. The area is not extremely handicap friendly, so knowing that may help your travels. Tai Kwun is on top of the hill so it is steep as you walk down back to Central MTR Station. I got to visit all of the buildings on a self-guided tour and discovered that one of the prison cells housed Vietnamese revolutionary Ho Chi Minh amongst other historical inmates. Whether you're a history buff or just a curious explorer, Tai Kwun is a unique place to visit.

So much fun to wander looking at the giant colorful aquariums, tanks of turtles, and bags and bags and bags of goldfish. Located on Tung Choi Street, the shops and stalls line several blocks. Why goldfish? If you live in public housing, which is quite a deal in Hong Kong, there are restrictions on what kind of small pet can live in your apartment. More than that, goldfish are an integral part of cultural life in Hong Kong and China. Goldfish are believed to bring abundance and prosperity to the home. Goldfish also represent the Feng Shui of bringing richness, money or harmony to the home. Why are the fish in the bags? How do they survive? Since the stores are limited for space, the fish are placed into the plastic bags that are pumped with oxygen. Prices are marked on the bag. If they don't sell, they go back into the tanks at night. Seems like a lot of work. Don't want a goldfish? There are also lots of other cute choices. The puppies were so adorable. The fluffy bunnies just happily hopped or slept in their crates. Lots of turtles and cats as well. A very unique market to explore in Kowloon.

I myself included it on my list of places I wanted to visit when I arrived for my second visit to Hong Kong, which coincided with Mid-Autumn Festival of 2019. I was staying in Tsim Sha Tsui and wanted to explore more of the Kowloon area. (Of course at the time, I had no idea what "Kowloon" or "the Island" referred to.) Goldfish Street is in Mong Kok, which is the busy shopping central area of Kowloon, so one should expect to see people constantly walking along these busy sidewalks. I visited Goldfish Street when it was dark out, which I suppose enhanced the experience of viewing the fish, with the lights illuminating the fish's diversely extravagant appearances in order to entice prospective customers. Of course, I imagine there are just as many opportunistic photographers (including me) trying to take advantage of the free photo settings, though it should be duly noted that several of these fish stores have clearly visible "no photography" signs, which obviously comes from experience. Expect to get a lot of disapproving glares from store owners if you attempt to be a fish influencer without buying any fish.

Though I definitely spent more than I would have for souvenirs at the Ladies Market, it was worth it not to feel stressed out having to haggle on the streets of Mong Kok. Plus, I walked out with better quality stuff, supported a local business, and got to check out the current art exhibit ("LONG TIME NO SEE": a set of hand-drawn murals paying homage to the history of the PMQ building).

The video playing in the unit depicted happy tenants that loved living there and got on well with their neighbours. There was also a mahjong exhibit that was quite enjoyable and informative. This is also reflected in the ticket prices which are less expensive than the cinema's at IFC or Pacific Place. This MCL is in Telford Gardens. It may not the most modern cinema with the latest technology but the 6 houses are big enough, the chairs comfortable, with enough legroom. The convenience store offers enough variety, on a busy day there could be more staff.
