If you're walking around in Causeway Bay and feeling bored and uninspired by the major shopping malls like Times Square and Sogo, then it's time to give Island Beverly a go. Located between Sogo and World Trade Center, this mini-mall is four floors-full of quirky Asian boutiques. It's a great place to come to if you're on the lookout for something a little more different and a little less mainstream, or if you're simply tired of stepping out the house and seeing five people wearing that H&M top you own but thankfully didn't wear today!
One great thing about the boutiques at Island Beverly is that they're all different. They all have their own styles and if you're into Japanese and Korean fashion, then this is your haven. Most of the stuff in the boutiques are imported directly from Japan and Korea, so you'll find tons of cute clothes and accessories here. The prices here range, but are definitely higher than places like H&M and Forever 21. I would say they're around the prices you would see at Zara or a little more, but there certainly are exceptions. I find the sales ladies at the boutiques here generally quite helpful but without being pushy.
If you're feeling a little hungry, head to Apollo on the first floor, a local brand of ice cream and frozen yogurt. Granted, it's not the best dessert you can find, but they have a range of flavors and they're pretty inexpensive.
It's worth noting that some of the boutiques here have no changing rooms, so you won't be able to try the clothes on. Most have flexible return policies where you can exchange for something else though.
Overall, Island Beverly is a breath of fresh air compared to the chain shopping malls in HK that just really get boring after a while. Definitely give it a chance if you've never been here before! read more
