(This review was also posted in The Bridge, https://www.yelp.com/biz/the-bridge-香港) We were invited to visit a Cathay Pacific lounge in the Hong Kong International Airport when we checked in.  The friendly staff at the counter said that we could go to any of the 3 lounges located at gate 2, 35, and 65 respectively.  I asked her which one was the best.  Her answer was: the gate 2 one had no shower, and gate 65 was the largest.  After we found out that our flight had been assigned gate 32, it was a no-brainer that we would choose the lounge at gate 35 for its proximity, and later we learnt that that's the Bridge. When we arrived at the Bridge, there were 2 escalators connecting the gate level with the lounge, one going down directly to it, the other going back up.  In the center was the reception area of the lounge where friendly staff welcomed us.  She told us that Chinese/Asian food was to our left, and western food to our right. The 3 of us turned left for Chinese food.  It was a long lounge and very crowded (I found that this was due to another CP lounge was closed for renovation).  There were sections of different seats, but most of them seemed to be filled.  When there seemed to be no further section, my husband asked a staff, and the answer was there was another section farther down, that's where we settled down.  There was decent Chinese food, including their signature Wonton Noodle Soup at the Noodle Bar.  I ordered at the bar, the cook gave me a buzzer, its red lights lit up when the noodle was ready for pick up.  It only took 2 minutes.  I had to transport the hot noodle back to my table, though.  I also picked up a few dim sum and several pieces of steamed rice rolls and added peanut sauce and sweet sauce to them (HK street food).  These were all pretty good.  I was going to get a bowl of congee as well, but was happy that I didn't.  If I did, I would have no room for the food that I actually loved! What made me crave were to be found from the other side of the reception area, where  I decided to explore the section with western food as well.  Long story short, the little bite sized cake and a mini twist pastry with fruit bits were surprisingly delicious.  I only took one of each and walked all the way back.  When I decided to go back for seconds, they had totally switched from breakfast items to lunch.  I picked up 2 savory appetizers and 2 mini lemon tartlets, one intended for my husband.  They were also very good, but the freshly baked mini pastry with crispy edges still lives rent free in my head weeks later! If I ever go to this lounge again, I will split my visit between the 2 sections.  First go to the Chinese wing, and then our entire group of 3 would go to the western section to have pastries and coffee, or other drinks from their bar. Since I have not tried their hot cooked food in the western wing, I could not comment on those. I should mention that all the staff there were very friendly and polite.  The whole place was modern and comfortable, and was kept very clean.  It was a nice lounge to relax and stretch before a flight, especially a long haul one.  I truly enjoyed my 2-hour visit there! read more

Grateful to have access again to this lounge on this trip to SE Asia. The staff are very attentive and I did enjoy the single serving beef bourguignon on this visit. And they have a nice selection whiskeys. Very relaxing stop to recharge before my flight. It was a positive lounge experience. read more

First time for me to use the showers here and it's a life changer. (I did bring my own flip flops, though it was immaculately cleaned prior to my use.) The floor to ceiling stone rain shower with a hint of spa music made this a nice oasis. I tend to favor the Bridge because the flights to US tend to be relatively closer. The Chinese fare is to your left and the "Other" food options + a full bar at to the right. The Chinese fare is always exceptional. The "other" side is decent as I was impressed with the onion soup and they do offer a green salad option but as noted in other reviews the other items are a bit flat. The solution is to grab a bite on both sides if you have time to migrate. Lots of seating but at peak evening times even past 11:00 PM it is crowded. I find the lounges at all the busy hubs crowded for my taste so I can't complain. read more

The Bridge lounge was recently renovated and reopened. I was there during breakfast time and the food was ok. The place was packed and crowded. I was there during the morning time and the food provided was good. It had dan dan noodle, wonton noodle, and others western style food. The service is attentive. read more

Most Cathay Pacific lounges I've frequented are pretty nice and hit on all the marks you look for in a good luxurious preflight experience. This one in HKG is no exception. It's huge, has beautiful cozy seating, serves delicious Western and Chinese food, has a decent booze selection, the staff is efficient and pleasant, the restroom and showers are clean and spacious. Yeah I'm quite a fan of this one. It definitely lowered my stress levels that traveling internationally tends to raise. read more

* Why have I skipped you? * On all my trips through Hong Kong I somehow always have used the Wing, Pier, or Amex Centurion lounge instead of the Bridge. Not sure why. I just somehow always skipped this one. While the Pier is certainly the most spacious feeling with the largest number of large rooms and dining options, the Wing always drew me in with its cabanas. But those are harder and harder to get into as the wait is longer and longer. The Amex Centurion offers a fairly simple small space with some decent dining options. But it is too crowded in its small space. So this time I decided to finally try out the Bridge. This is a fairly reasonably sized lounge with lots of extra space hidden away by turning left instead of turning right at the main desk. The main dining area is off to the right, but off to the left they have a secondary dining area as well as an espresso bar and shower rooms. Overall the food offerings in the space looked good on the surface, with lots of variety. But the execution was poor on almost everything. The nice sounding fig and arugula pizza was severely underdone, had congealed cheese, and an awful crust. Behind the counter they had a wide variety of bread and bagels on display, but they were simply that, just display and not available at all! Go figure. Show over substance. The dan tat was really underdone, with a slightly raw crust in its centre, while the egg filling was creamy and flavourful. But the crust is such an important part that it was killed. The espresso bar offered up a wide variety of barista created drinks, but I just tried the simple espresso. It had almost no crema. Show over substance. The Haagan Daaz vanilla cup was spot on though. At least they got that right. :) So my summary of the Bridge is basically that it is entirely skipable for food, but a good place to stretch out if you have an extended stay and need some private empty space with a nice cup of Haagan Daaz, or need quick entry into a shower without a wait. read more

You can always count on HK lounges to be quality. The Bridge is no exception. I was lucky enough to visit this Cathay lounge twice during my business trip to Asia. It has two sides, with the right side being the larger lounge with more food options, and the left side with free showers. It's clean, a bit dim, and modern. I wouldn't say the food options were extensive, but the food served were pretty good tasting. They have the plain rice rolls with the variety of sauces (hoisin, sesame, soy sauce) for breakfast, which I really looked forward to since last time I visited an HK lounge. For dinner, they had some dimsum choices, beef siu mai and bbq pork buns, green curry, and braised beef. All of them were pretty good except for the green curry, which was almost flavorless. The one key attractive area would be the extremely long bar in the back, which the bartender would serve you the drink of your choice. My gin and tonic was great for an airport lounge drink. The shower felt amazing after a long day of traveling and also getting ready for the long flight back. They have everything included in the shower! Even a hairdryer and face wash! The attendants in the shower area were super friendly too. Overall, a great lounge to spend your time during your transfer in HK. read more

The Bridge is large, glamorous, and simply Cathay. As my second favorite CX lounge (after The Pier) and the most centrally located to most of the departure gates, I was excited to get to wine and dine inside while waiting for my flight back to the Americas. The lounge is large, open, and filled with pieces of art that will have you learning more about Hong Kong culture than you'd ever expect from an airport. The dining area has fantastic food. Breakfast offered a lot of traditional HK bites such as dim sum and congee, while there was an enormous section of salads, cold cuts, and Western fare for those wanting a bit more variety. There are plenty of seats inside so you should never have an issue settling in and enjoying some bites. My favorite part of the lounge is definitely the long and intense bar. The Bridge has a few specialty drinks you won't find at other CX lounges. The Bridge Colada was definitely my favorite drink in all of its intense, whipped glory. Grab one and take a seat as you watch planes move from the gate. Definitely check out The Bridge if you have access, because it is one lounge that I look forward to frequenting again in the future. read more

For lounges, this is one of the better ones in terms of what is offered. For practicality - its way over crowded and expect to wait for seats. The area is loud and not a good place to 'lounge' - there are a few good seats at the entrance and has a view of the airfield. The lounge has the best overall location to all of the gates. read more

Never have I ever resented the fact that I had too short of layover before visiting the Bridge in June 2015. The lounge is beautiful, modern, and comfortable. Perfect place for relaxing during a layover in Hong Kong! The Bridge is located just past gates 35 and 36, where the terminal makes a fork. If departing from Hong Kong, I would hop on the tram. Upon coming up the escalator the lounge is just ahead... You take another set of escalators down one level, hand your lounge pass over, and make the all important decision of turning left for the bistro or right for the bakery... Or simply pick one, hang out, and walk over to the other side. Both the bistro and bakery are similar in design, with small dining rooms and plenty of seating throughout. We were there during breakfast time, and both served essentially the same offerings, though the bakery had slightly more breads and cereals. At the far end of the bistro is a very nice coffee bar, where you can order any type of coffee you could imagine. There was also a small area of self serve drinks. The bakery, however, had a wonderful bar with premium cocktails and bar service. We grabbed several mimosas which were great! There were plenty of computers and newspapers/magazines to pass the time in either lounge. We did not use the showers, but the bathrooms themselves were very modern and nice. Would not hesitate to visit the bridge lounge during a layover in Hong Kong. This lounge makes what normally is an annoying process of waiting for your flight, into a delightful and relaxing experience. Cannot wait to return on my next trip through Hong Kong! read more

The Bridge is another lounge which has showers, along with the standard stuff that the cathay lounges provide. It also its own signature dumplings dish next to the siu mai dumplings in the buffet bar. There is no noodle bar in this lounge as well, but you can head over to the Pier (nearby) for this. The location for this lounge is near the opposite end of the terminal (when you get out of the Automated People Mover train). read more

The Bridge is Cathay/One World's newest lounge, one of the 4 One World lounges (The Wing, The Cabin, The Pier, The Bridge). The location is quite convenient as it right by the Airport Connecting train, right at the fork. You can take the escalator from the department gate level. There are 2 sides for this lounge. Most people will be referred to the right side of the lounge, where you can a nice choices for food, drink and reading materials. The signature dish here is definitely the rice roll (腸粉). No there is no Dan Dan or Wonton Noodles here. You need to go to The Wing for that. There is the usual Siu Maai, congee, oatmeal, pastry, coffee, soda, juice you get from most of the other One World lounge. There is a nice salad bar here for vegetarian and healthy hearts. If you walk further in and take a left. You will find a full bar and they do make a nice cup of latte. This lounge is probably the second or third best at HKIA. The Wing is definitely be best out of the 4 lounges here. However, all 4 lounges here are by far better than most of the One World lounges in be US. Take a good rest and safe travel everyone! read more

I had a short layover in HKG in January 2015 and I was DETERMINED to check this place out after having experienced The Wing in November of 2013. To start this lounge did not have any signs pointing to its exact location, I was walking around the area looking up because all of the airport lounges were upstairs. Well this place is downstairs so mind-blown away. There are two sides, one side I guess meant to be louder because it has the bar and the larger dining area, while the opposite side has the coffee bar. Coffee usually means quite, while bar means loud at least in my brain. The food offerings were ok, not great but they do have nice booze here, no well liquor to be found, the view was nice too, overseeing the the ramp area with large windows. Yeah, I wouldn't mind hanging out here for a while, wish I longer to enjoy this lovely space. read more

I've spent the most time at the Bridge due to its proximity to the train (flying to/from JFK) and to its size. There are two wings - bistro or bakery. I've spent time in both, but slightly more in the bistro since there's also a shower on that side. In the evenings, I've had excellent egg tarts in the bakery. In the morning, I've had excellent breakfast food (congee, dim sum dishes, juices, etc). Lots of carbs. In general, it's not too loud and spacious enough. The rainfall showers are heavenly after a long trip. Sometimes there's a wait. If so, you'll get a buzzer - except only the light comes on, it won't buzz! read more

Another CX/KA/OneWorld lounge in HKIA. Not the biggest, but very central and quieter than others. The food selection is slightly different here compared to others. Lighter selections including toasted sandwiches and western salads along with the usual dim sum and congee. More self service than other locations where food is hidden behind glass and is served on request. The bar ('The Long Bar') has a great view of Lantau Peak and adjacent mountains, and it is relatively quiet: which makes it a good selection for a quiet place to relax without being overwhelmed by free-ranging kids or noisy travellers. The bar appears stocked sufficiently to pull off standard cocktails. Moët with your scrambled eggs? No problem! Sunset behind Lantau would be spectacular from here, no doubt. read more

I consider The Bridge to be the hidden secret among Cathay's fine lounge lineup at HKIA. The Pier may be the first class flagship, but The Bridge would be my choice to hang out with a friend. The food is good -- though better at The Wing or The Pier -- but the real star is the long bar overlooking the runways. You sit just high enough to see everything going on, but low enough to feel like you are part of the action. I still get the same kick out of watching the planes come and go that I did when I was a kid, only now I get to do it with a drink in my hand! TVs and comfortable seating are also available, though the lounge can get a bit crowded at peak times. However, the fun bar sets it apart and keeps it in my regular HK lounge rotation. read more

First time here to this CX lounge near gate 36. It is after a very long hike and you are glad you arrived, but maybe after you get in you say to yourself, I should have stopped off at some other CX Business Class Lounge. It's is like a cafeteria with fast food. Some soup, pizza, Dim Sim of sort, Chicken, veges, rice and stir fried. Soft drinks is via a dispenser . No noodle bar! I must have been spoilt but this is what I would consider an Economy Class Lounge! Far short of CX famous Business Class lounges. read more

I once spent 11 hours here and thought it was too short. This lounge is over-the-top amazing. There are two free food areas, one that serves mostly Western options (sandwiches, pizza, salads) and another with all-you-can-eat Cantonese, including oodles of dumplings. The showers are luxurious, with some sort of fast-drying black tile, light woods, and big comfy towels. There's a huge bar with complimentary premium liquors, a coffee bar with high-end coffee options, and best of all, tons of seating. The interior design is really my style too, bringing together sleek modern touches with comfortable and traditional finishes. read more
